Of course, the American soldier was going to know he would be radioing this. She knew routine by now. Of course, routine probably varied country to country but radioing in things was pretty common regardless of the location.

She seemed to relax as he focused on her hands and warming them up. Most soldiers wouldn't have but maybe the cold was biting her in places that worked. Hopefully her toes weren't in the some condition but the boots should have been just fine to bite off some of the cold.

"I didn't figure as much. I lost my gloves in a battle with wind a while back if I'm being completely honest."

Normally Fabian would mock the sense of foolishness the American soldier had for continuing without protection from the storm. However, he sensed shame in her voice and decided to let it go. For now, at least. He heard her say that she just had pins and needles and gave a nod, that was the sign that her hands were warming up. Everything he was about to say stopped at the sound of the wind picking up more and then a loud bang. The cold filled the air and he immediately turned his gaze to the source of the bang. The wind had blown open the door and now there was at least five inches of snow in the cabin.

"The owners aren't going to be thrilled about this when they come back here," He commented, letting go of her hands to approach the door. He put his gloves back on and pushed the snow out of the doorway and back outside. He did that until he could successfully close the door again. He locked it and turned to the woman.

"Hand me the Chair please," He turned back to her, leaning against the door to keep it shut. The wind was going to just blow it back open unless they put something in front of it.

Samara was a little surprised he didn't make fun over her having lost her gloves. She had opened her mouth to say thank you when the sound of the wind then the bang, made her almost jump three feet out of her skin. She resisted the urge to make a tighter hold on his hands out of habit, but she didn't want to look more like a scaredy-cat. "A technical breaking and entering as well as a ton of snow in their home? They won't be happy what so ever," she said, shuddering at the feel of the cold.

Samara grabbed the chair at his request and brought it over towards him. She helped get it lodged against the door before stepping back. "Hopefully that will hold," she said before walking back to her clothes and putting on some of what way dry. The majority of her clothes had become soaked with melted snow and she knew better than to put wet clothes on. "Well, what now?" She asked with a sigh.

Fabian gave a small chuckle, imagining the looks on their faces when they realized that. Of course, it was war. Leaving a cabin abandoned with easy to pick locks was their fault. Maybe they would just assume it was the wind, he didn't plan to be here for longer than he had to.

His plan was to wait out the storm and bring the American soldier back to base. He was sure the general would have a few things to say to her. He might decide to leave her as a hostage. He wasn't for sure what would happen to the American woman once they returned to base. It wasn't his responsibility to know either.

He watched her bring over the chair and gave a nod of gratitude toward her. He propped the chair against the door and hoped that would keep the wind and snow back. He turned his gaze back to her and saw her sorting through her wet and dry layers. Those would barely keep her warm in a storm like this.

"Let's go back upstairs," He didn't pat her down but her under layers had been so thin that he would have seen a weapon if she had one. He made sure that she didn't grab any of hers back, he would feel safer with her being unarmed.

He walked toward the start of the stairs, climbing up a few of them before turning back. He offered his hand toward hers to help her up them.

"What is your name?" He asked, realizing he hadn't asked before now,"I'm Fabian."

Samara could only imagine the owners faces as well, especially if the two for some reason remained there by time they made it back. She did feel she was able to relax a bit more now. She knew as long as she didn't do anything funny, he wouldn't harm her. "Alright. I doubt it'll be as drafty upstairs," she had more of a sound of hope than positivity to her voice as she headed towards the stairs.

Samara took the hand he offered with a smile, "What a gentleman. Thank you." Sure, she teased, but she was also being quite sincere. "I'm Samara," she too hadn't realized they hadn't exchanged names. Since they were likely going to be around each other for a while she didn't mind it. It would be better than being called US woman.

As they made it up the stairs, Samara was relieved to feel the warmth from the fire that had been going. Luckily, the wind hadn't destroyed any windows or blown open any door. Samara head over towards the fire place and stood with her back to it so that she could warm up. "At least you were able to make a fire," she said with a sigh. It would have been bad if he hadn't since temperatures were still steadily dropping faster and faster.

This was him playing nice. The woman hadn't been too hostile toward him or tried to attack him. She also left all her weapons on the table. So far she was listening and since she was doing what he said, he might as well play nice with her. Besides, he felt like they both were going to be in here for a while.

The American soldier took his hand. Hers were still cold, he figured they would be for awhile. Warming her up and making sure she didn't have frostbite was part of his top responsibilities. Of course, radioing this in has to happen soon. He figured connection would be better out of the basement as well. He listened as she teased him and shook his head. This woman had a flirtatious nature, that's for sure.

"Samara...that doesn't sound too terribly of an American name. You look more like a Sarah or Brianna to me," He teased back, guiding her up the stairs and into the area where he had broken in. The owners of the cabin weren't going to be too happy to discover their cabin had been broken into in two different doors.

"At least you were able to make a fire."

His attention turned back to the woman who had made her way to the fire. He approached her and slipped off his first layer which was his thick thermal uniform jacket. He pulled out her radio, his radio, and everything else he didn't trust her with before wrapping it around her shoulders,"Here, you need to stay warm."

He offered a small smile before sneaking into the kitchen area which was connected to the room that had the fireplace. He dug around, finding a mug and some hot chocolate packets. It was considerate of the owners to keep their cabin somewhat stocked with essentials for bearing the cold. He made a mug for Samara and returned shortly after to hand it to her.

"I got to radio everything in but you stay here and start to get warm," He told her, glancing out one of the windows. The storm had gotten significantly worse. He was worried about even being able to radio this in.

Samara smiled at his reaction. She did love to flirt, but she didn't mean anything by it. She wasn't interested in Fabian in that way, she just loved to tease. She gave a fake dramatic gasp, "Oh the horror. It's so.. basic." She giggled before shaking her head. She was glad they were able to be civil, especially since she had a creeping suspicion they were going to be there a while.

As he put his jacket around her, a hum of appreciation left her lips. "Mm, yes thank you. I'm feeling warmer already." Her words were true as even some color seemed to return to her skin. She hugged his jacket to her body. She warmed her hands on the fire as he had slipped off into the kitchen. As he returned with a cup of hot chocolate, her eyes lit up like a child on Christmas morning. "Ohh, what a treat. This is pure heaven," she said as she took a careful sip and relaxed as the liquid warmed her from the inside out.

"Alright, will do," she said with a small nod. She walked over to one of the windows closest to the fire, looking out it. Snow had build up high against the window and the flurries were so thick that you could barely see the land outside. She really hoped they weren't going to get stuck, but she didn't have high hopes either. She sighed softly, frowning to herself. If she would have just stayed outside or at least ran, she wouldn't be in that situation. Now she mainly worried about what would come next because she knew that someone else probably wouldn't be as nice as Fabian was being now.

He didn't think 'heaven' was anywhere close to this type of situation. He knew that the storm was growing in intensity which meant that it was going to be a long night or two. Also, he wasn't sure how her base would react when they can't get contact with her. He would rather not fight thousands of Americans in this cold. Especially if he couldn't get back to his base.

But if Samara wanted to think that their situation was heaven...he would let her. At least one of them was thinking positively of this situation and the growing fear that they may be stuck in here a while.

He snuck off down the hallway, popping into one of the bedrooms and tried radioing in to his base. He got nothing but static.

"General Clark, can you hear me?" He radioed again. There was nothing but static. He bit his lip and moved to stand up on the bed. Maybe higher ground would help.

"General, come in please. General?"

There was a click. Silence. Then static. Another click. And finally.

"Commander Squirt, what's your report?"

"Not good. I was followed and the storm is so bad," He stated and waited on his end. There was more static,"Hello General?"

"Squirt...breaking...up..." He could only make out a few words in response. Then there was a loud click. Then silence. Nothing. That was just great. He tried three more times before shaking his head and jumping off his bed. So much for radioing this in.

He returned back to Samara and shook his head,"We need to start to prepare for the worst. Last time I looked at radar, the storm just kept on intensifying."

"We need to cover the windows and doors in case we run out of wood, matches, or lose electricity," He told her, figuring that she wouldn't know what he meant by preparing for the worst. He disappeared into the kitchen and came back with large trash bags and a large roll of tape. These people seemed prepared for anything. He was lucky to have ended up here.

Of course, the only thing that was heaven was the hot chocolate. It wasn't something she drank often, and considering their circumstances it was quite nice to have a warm drink that wasn't straight black coffee.

As she stared out of the window, she did wonder if her base would send anyone after her. She imagined it would only be a small team if they did, but with the storm being as it was, they'd probably be waiting until it cleared up. She doubted they'd take one missing soldier as an offense and go a head and attack, but if they did, she'd be the least of their concerns, so Fabian's base would be the ones to get to her first.

Samara looked up as he came back in and nodded slightly. She walked over to the side table and set her mug down before sliding her arms into the sleeves of his jacket. "Right. Best to be prepared. I know I come from the south, but I'm not so sure I've even seen storms like this in the northern states," she said as she went over to start helping him.

Samara had decided asking about how radioing this in wasn't a great idea. Not only would it save herself some worry, she already had figured he couldn't get through. Well, she hoped at least. It would make trying to leave a whole lot easier. She wouldn't have to worry as much about there being more enemy soldiers. She'd only have to worry about not freezing to death.

He was really worried about the storm and the fact he couldn't debrief with base made it worse. He didn't know if the American base was going to seek out Samara and that made him more worried. He wasn't prepared to take on an army of American soldiers on his own.

The storm wasn't as bad as it could be yet. These storms were typical but still a nuisance. Especially in war times. He was used to the cold, the snow, and the ice. He knew that Canadian weather could unleash something way worse. It was best to assume the weather was capable of unleashing demons upon them. It would probably be some time before they could leave.

He unrolled 3-4 trash bags and handed them off to her as she approached him. He also unrolled some of the tape, ripping it off and sticking it playfully to the tip of her nose.

"You get the north and west ends of the house, I'll get the east and south," He instructed, giving a small smirk at the sight of the American soldier with tape on her nose. He trusted her enough to not flee if he turned his back. Only a fool would try to run in this weather.

Samara took the trash bags and gave a quiet squeak as he stuck the tape to her nose. She glared slightly as she took the tape off before love tapping his arm playfully. "You looked quite pleased with yourself," she said with a small laugh. Truth be told, Fabian wasn't being just terrible company at the time being. "North and west it is then," she said with a smile before turning her back to head towards the north side of the house.

While Samara had no intentions of running any time soon, she would be looking for different ways out. Her best bet would likely be a higher up window. She was afraid that if it was too low, the snow would flood in and block her path. Plus, she needed all her warmer clothes and preferably a weapon and her radio.

The north side had three windows surprisingly, and all of them were low to the ground and already had pilings of snow and branches gathered in front of them. She knew they wouldn't be of any use to her that way, so she taped the bags over them without a second thought before headed to the west.

The west side did have a higher window, which was nice, but it was almost too high. She had to stretch to get the tape stuck and even then she was barely able to get the window taped all the way. If she did decide to make that her escape window, she'd likely need a chair to avoid being too loud with climbing out, and that wouldn't be ideal.
