Hayden stayed with his arms wrapped around Eclipse while he talked. He remembered that when he was little, hugs had meant everything to him, so he remained there, listening to the explenation. "Can we just have you walk around until it turns red, and then have everybody line up?" Hayden joked. He wanted to lighten the mood, because he had no idea how they were going to find Eclipse's perfect match. Hayden pulled away from the hug, and chewed on his fingernail, trying to think. He had a very technical mind, and was trying to work everything out beforehand. "I wonder who it is." He couldn't help saying it. He was honestly curious. Eclipse was such a unique person, that his match must be amazing as well. "Do you think they're a he, she, or they?" Edited at November 26, 2022 10:16 AM by The Tea Drinkers

He chuckled a little. "No, that would be too easy. It's never going to be easy, especially with hunters roaming around." Eclipse also was trying to think, chewing on his inside cheek like he always did when thinking. He hummed, mind wandering around all the possiblities of who his other half was. He was silent for a moment, trying to figure out what he leaned to most in a relationship. "...I honestly don't know, but part of me is leaning toward 'he'. I guess I like guys more? I dunno, I've never been in a relationship." Eclipse sighed, standing up and stretching. "Well, I think it's best I get going now." For some reason, he didn't want to leave. He wanted to stay with Hayden, but that was dangerous. "...Do you want to come with me?"

Hayden flushed bright red. "I-I dunno. Do you want me to come?" He'd never felt awkward around Eclipse before, but for some reason, all of a sudden, it felt like some kind of dynamic had changed. He wrinkled his nose, wincing as he remembered that it was broken. He went through the other part of the conversation, trying to process. "Guys...must be a coincedence." he muttered, and trailed off, looking back up to meet Eclipse's eyes. "I'll come if you want me."

Eclipse hummed again. As he looked into the other's eyes, he couldn't help but feel... mesmerized. Mentally shaking himself, Eclipse sighed again. "Well, then that's a yes for both of us. You do know that you can't continue your life here, right? We have to stay hidden." He began to walk over to the things he'd packed, which wasn't much. There was just two big suitcases and a big backpack. "C'mon. Since I don't have much, let's just get into my car and drive to your place so that you can get your things."

Hayden yanked himself out of a kind of daze, and nodded. "Alright. I don't have a lot to get." He was already mentally mapping what he would need, and pulled out his phone. "I'm going to text my friend and ask if he can watch my house for a while." Once they got to his house, he jumped out of the car. "I'll only need a few minutes, I promise." He jogged towards the house, a small, pale blue one-story. He unlocked the door, and relaxed in the familiararity of his home. Hayden went to his room, and started looking around to see what he would need. He struggled to decide what was necessary, and what were things he just wanted to bring.
In the end, he packed most of his clothes, and a few personal items. As he was getting ready to leave, he heard a pitiful mew. He turned, conflicted. A small, black kitten peeked out from under his couch.
He rolled his lips in, saddened. He'd gotten the cat from his best friend, and leaving it hurt him. Hayden bent down, and gathered the kitten in his arms. He knew he couldn't bring it with him, but he so wanted to. He knew he was taking a long time, but he needed a moment.

Eclipse followed Hayden into his house, leaning against the wall while watching the other as he moved around. Noticing the kitten peek out from under the couch, he straightened up and walked over to Hayden. Seeing him pick it up, Eclipse's heart swelled as he peeked over his shoulder. He smiled, before gently saying- "Oh, stop being a big baby. You can bring her with, I don't mind. I do have some cats myself." He then chuckled, backing away and taking what was packed up out to his car, putting it in the trunk and backseats. After he was done with that, Eclipse leaned against the side of his car and waited for Hayden to come out.

Hayden flinched at the other's voice, about to start making excuses, but at his words, heaved a relieved sigh. He put the kitten into a woven tote, and glanced around one last time. He walked back to the car, and pulled his phone out. "Hang on, I've gotta text Alex." He started a message, but struggled to get the point across. "How do I tell my best friend turned almost boyfriend that I'm leaving with another guy?"

Eclipse was silent for a moment, thinking about what Hayden could say. "Well, maybe something like- 'Hey, something came up and I have to go out of town for a while. I may not be able to come back, as I might be moving in with someone. He's my childhood friend, so don't worry. Take care of my house, please. I'm also taking the cat with me. Thank you for all you've done for me!'" He shrugged, not really sure what he could say. "Well, you should get in the car now, and text him while I drive." With that, Eclipse walked over to his side, then hopped in the car. He started up the car, grinning as it purred into life. After the other got in, closed his door, and seatbelted, Eclipse started driving to his out-of-town house.

Hayden settled into his seat, and pulled out his phone again. He stared at the contact, and nibbled his bottom lip. After struggling with wording for a few more minutes, he pulled the kitten out of the tote, and settled her on his lap. He wanted to pay attention to Eclipse, in case he started talking, but his mind drifted to a million other things. What was he gonna say when he came back? Would the time that had passed affect his relationships? He shook these thoughts out of his head, and went back to working out a message. Edited at December 1, 2022 03:41 PM by The Tea Drinkers

An hour or so later, Eclipse turned into a long driveway. Overhead, there was something like a tunnel made out of trees. As he continued driving, Eclipse glanced over at Hayden before looking back in front of him. He finally stopped in front of a medium-sized house, with a large yard surrounded by forest. "We're here, Hayden." He turned off the car, before stepping out. Eclipse was greeted with two large animals, a wolf and a snow leopard. "Well, hello to you too! Did you guys miss me?" Eclipse chuckled as the wolf barked at him while the snow leopard gently growled. "Awe, sorry guys. I missed you too." He bent down, reaching out to pet both of them on their heads. Eclipse then remembered about Hayden and straightened up. "Okay guys, we have a friend that came with me. Be nice to him, okay? He also has a kitten with him." Turning around, he smiled as Hayden approached. "Don't worry, these two are friendly. They're two of my companions."
