Sundew dipped her head slightly " ok... " she said almost regrettably. It couldn't hurt at least....

I led the way back to the kingdom and led the through the rooms of everything. Melinda got off my back the moment we arrived so she could fetch some healers or at least the medicine. I led her to my den, there was room for two dragons. But the type of room was meant for dragons that were paired, I hoped she wouldn't notice.

Sundew looked around " this is big.... " she said maybe a bit too big for one dragon she thought but she kept that to herself. A den was den after all. She blinked "sooo...." She said Trying to start a conversation .

"What is it that you would like to know?" I asked as a few castle workers rolled the cart in to take my armor and saddle off. The parked it right next to where I was and I just stood still making it easier for them to work.

"What are.... Those....?" Sundew asked pointing with her left wing at the strange creatures

"These are humans! the lower-ranked ones take care of us and feed us. The ones that have an equal or similar rank to yours will ride on our back! The higher ranked ones are always decorated with more layers and colors," I said looking at the humans, "in a way it is just like two clans that merged but instead two different species. Like I am a Brood Dragonet that cares for hatchlings and eggs, my personal human does the same. Like us, they have names assigned to them too!"

"Assigned... Why?" Sundew asked, cunfused " can't you choose what you want? "
Darkseeker
"Well, they are given to us as hatchlings," I hesitated "We grow up with our rider of the same rank and we are given names the moment we enter the world."

Sundew looked at her confused "why don't you get to choose...? This place is messed up..." She shook her head

Darkseeker
"Why do you think it is so messed up? it basically functions like a normal clan except we benefit more than humans. They provide us everything, all we have to do in exchange is let them ride on our backs."
