Kayo sat in awe at the small kitsune interacting with the fisherman. Feeling braver, she stepped out into the open, glowing to make herself known.

"I'm sorry, I just found it odd that a young kitsune was alone in the woods without some family nearby... I didn't mean to be creepy or anything." She lowered her ears behind her head and tucked her tail, a sign of apology in Kayo's family.

"No, I've never heard of a Kali. Is she a kitsune as well?" she asked, pleased to see that her apologetic body language worked and the kitsune had calmed down.

Kayo's mother..... who was she? She didn't remember who brought her into the world. "I don't know my mother. I know my caretaker, and she's long dead."

"Well, my caretaker's name was Katzumi, and she was a grey kitsune with glowing white swirl marks on her legs and face." she said, recounting the old memory of the long-dead kitsune who she had thought was her mother until recently. "There was another one, too. A male, I think. Pure black. His name was something like Yutaka or Yahusiro, I don't remember very well."
