Ekon silently did a little happy dance behind Anasuri before sliding back into the cool, calm mode that he should always keep. He needed to go to town, feed the children, get supplies, make people laugh. It was just his way to repay Darlene for what she'd done for him. He was just returning the favor for other people. Even if it was totally against his job and the strict rules of how to interact with others. He'd do it anyways.

The herbal scent was bitter and sharp, not pleasant in the slightest, but Anasuri wasn't bothered. Instead, she sighed, and opened up the doors to her balcony to let the fresh air in. After that, Anasuri picked up a beaker from a large desk, where it had been over a flame. She swished the dark brown liquid around with a grimace.

Ekon entered his area with a sigh of relief. Plopping onto his bed with a dull thud. God he was already tired. The journey here had taken 5 days. His body ached and he was exhausted. But he was not going to take a nap! He was going to unpack. Because he wanted to, plus, he needed his painting of his friends out. He needed to remind himself that he did have friends somewhere.

Anasuri tipped back the beaker and swallowed all of the potion at once. The aftertaste was awful, and made her want to gag, but it would help with her pounding headache. Her worry about the new knight had brought it on, so the pain reliever was appreciated by her body.

The young knight unpacked and made the room his own. Taking down the weird, unfamiliar paintings already up in the room and replacing them worth his own works. Putting his clothes away and putting his metal jewelry on the dresser. He should probably get ready for the dinner, as he wasn't exactly clean or anything. His hair wasn't a very pretty sight either. So he called for a warm bath, though his words weren't unkind, they weren't overly friendly either. As any talk with someone his charge didn't tell him to speak to should be.

A little while before dinner, Anasuri knocked on Ekon's door. She needed to brief him on what dinner would be like, and what his place was. She hadn't done that for her last knight, and the resulting mess had been her responsibility to clean up.

The Princess knocked on his door right after Ekon put on a simple white tunic and brown pants. A thick metal band around his wrist that he could use as a weapon if needed. He had yet to put up his hair in its normal bun so it was flowing down to its full length. Ekon was of course going to change for the dinner but he hadn't expected company before the dinner. So he looked rather confused when he opened the door. His eyes were a deep gold in color as he looked at the Princess. His relaxed expression becoming cool. As he shouldn't be showing any sort of emotion in front of his charge. It was already enough that he was dressed all casually and his tattoo was rather exposed since the sleeves only reached his elbows. "Oh, um hello Princess. I was not expecting you yet. I am sorry for my casual appearance. What do you need my princess?" His words were calm and rather quiet. As he was slightly embarrassed, though it didn't show at all on his face. The door was opened wide enough for the princess to see the easel standing in the corner and the new paintings on the walls.

Anasuri's curious eyes strayed past Ekon, and into his room, but they soon flitted back to his face. Her face was calm, and less tense now that her headache was fading, "I need to inform you about dinner. As you are new to the palace, and your position outranks many, it is required you be formally introduced to the court. It is a simple event - if you are as skilled as they say. You shall be announced, and once you sit down, your seat will be at the table with the other personal guards, some of the knights at that table will attack you. Blades will be dull, but can still hurt. Try to take them all out, without causing too much chaos. There will be... perhaps between four and seven, all skilled." Anasuri thought through it, "There is no seating order at the table, and feel free to talk as you please - mealtimes are one of the few moments guards are temporarily relieved from duty." Ekon sighed, a sharp throb in his own head starting up. He really really didn't feel like fighting today. He was tired and needed a good meal and sleep. Just a good sleep. Without anyone trying to murder him, or any fights, or anyone touching his charge. That's all he wanted and apparently even that was to much to ask for. He didn't let his annoyance show on his face though. It would be horribly rude of him to do that. "Sounds good to me ma'am. Though that is not how I was trained. I will try to hold conversations with others but it isn't something I am used to so I am sorry if I sound awkward or anything." His voice was cool and he quietly added under his breath, "guess I'll need more bracelets than I wanted to wear." His eyes flashed pure gold for a moment before turning slowly to a deep brown.

Anasuri narrowed her eyes, slightly, and sighed, "I think it is ridiculous," She said with a grim look, "But it is better that you know what to expect, than be unprepared." Looking carefully once more at the man in front of her, Anasuri turned around to get ready herself, throwing words overher shoulder, "And don't apologize to me, there is nothing you did wrong"
