Laika dips her head,"Perhaps." She flicks an ear,"Rider would take that chance in a heartbeat. Silver and Ari? Not so much." She was definitely more fond of Silver and Ari then Rider and Moone. Laika lets out a sigh,"I never thought the rouges would work together well enough to launch an attack." She shakes her head. Perhaps what she could do is take a patrol into the unclaimed lands, a stealth mission. See if they can find the rouges and find out whatever information they can. Laika blinks at Ferox,"I'll have to send my Elders, mothers and pups away. Your camp is the closest. I'd have to send them to you with some of my wolves."

Ferox sighed and nodded at her assessment. "Rider's definitely the type to call in any sort of debt," he said. "Silver and Ari might, if they had a good enough reason, but Rider would do it just to inconvenience you." Ferox thought silently for a moment. "It's strange," he agreed. "I always thought rogues worked alone, occasionally in small groups, but I've never heard of a concerted effort like this. It's alarming." Ferox fell silent for a moment. "We'd gladly take them in," he said. Then he looked up at Laika and nudged her gently. "You'd come too, right?" he asked. "You're expecting pups, you should come stay with my pack if things get too out of control."

Laika agrees,"Definitely, and Moone may not be as bad as her mate, but she wouldn't hesitate to call in a debt. No matter how big or small." Laika sighs, she definitely preferred Silver and Ari more, especially after the somewhat kind words that Ari had shared with her the last Gathering. Laika dips her head,"It scares me. Our packs are strong, but if we get overwhelmed by numbers, what hope is left?" She shakes her head, flicking an ear. "Thank you, it takes away some of my worry to know my packmates will be safe if I send them to you." Laika stares at Ferox,"No, I'd fight with my pack." Her eyes were wide with worry and stress, but also determination. She glances down at her stomach,"As long as me being pregnant does not get in the way--" She was talking about a large belly,"Then I will fight alongside my packmates."

Ferox nodded, wondering how and why the Elders of Rider's pack had chosen him of all wolves to be their Alpha. "Well, it may be unpleasant, but it beats being destroyed by rogues," he said. Ferox fell silent, lost in thought. Why would the rogues be banding together now? Or maybe they always were together, and none of them knew it. Ferox resolved to start sending small patrols of his best wolves out into the unclaimed lands, suddenly worried that the same thing happening to the Ignis Lupi pack might happen to his pack as well. He looked back at Laika as she continued speaking. "You'll be able to fend them off," he said reassuringly. Then, when she turned down his offer, he stared at her for a moment, then lightly shook his head with a sigh. "I guess I can't stop you from fighting," he said softly. "But I'm afraid for you. If it looks even for a moment like your pregnancy is in the way of your fighting, come to my pack, please." (Sorry about the wait! I thought I had posted this already ^^')

Laika lets out a rumble of a laugh,"That is true." She leans against Ferox,"That is very true." She too grows quiet as Ferox does. She was worried and stressed, would those rouges really attack? And why? Why would they dare risk attacking the packs? Even if the packs didn't like each other that much they wouldn't just leave one pack to fall to the rouges. And all of the elements combined together? The rouges would have no chance. So, did the rouges find something or someone that would give them a chance to defeat the packs? Laika blinks at Ferox,"I hope so. But our fires only last so long." Laika holds Ferox's gaze as he stares at her. Hesitating,"I cannot promise that if my pregnancy gets in the way I will retire." Would she leave the battle? Would she dare risk leading a few rouges to the other pack?
(All is good^^)

Ferox gave a sigh and shook his head lightly. "I can't blame you for wanting to fight, but I think you're being a little stubborn." Ferox thought for a moment, then gave Laika a small smile. "I can be equally stubborn. If something happens with the rogues, my pack and I will help. But if I think you're in danger because of your pregnancy, then I will drag you back to my pack and make sure that you stay where it's safe." Ferox gave a quiet sigh, then leaned on Laika slightly and licked her cheek lovingly. "I just don't want you to get hurt," he said softly. "And I don't want anything to happen to our pups." Their offspring weren't even born yet, but Ferox could already feel the beginnings of the powerful protective instinct taking hold, urging him to keep Laika and their unborn pups safe at all costs.

Laika agrees, a half chuckle slipping through her lips,"Always." She was a stubborn wolf, but it wasn't her worse trait. Laika flicks an ear towards her mate,"Do not think I will easily leave, Ferox." She smiles at him, though the smile did not fully reach her eyes,"I was taught to fight beside my packmates, and I love them to much." She sighs at his next words, leaning against him,"I know, I know. I love our pups already, but.. I love my packmates too." Her ears pin back, if forced to choose. Could she choose? She loved her packmates with all her heart, but she loved her unborn pups and Ferox with all of her heart as well.
(Sorry this is late^^ I've been a little busy the last few days)

Ferox gave his tail a wag and smiled, but his smile vanished as Laika spoke. She was smiling, but he could tell she wasn't joking. Ferox didn't speak for a little while, then said, "I understand wanting to fight beside your pack. Growing up, I considered that to be the greatest honor in the world. But I've found something to be its equal in honor, if not greater." Ferox nudged Laika as he spoke, then gave a sigh and looked down at his paws. "I just want to protect you," he said. "I hate the thought of you being in danger. If I see a way I can help you, nothing's going to stop me from doing so." (It's alright! I haven't been on the last few days either ^^)

Laika sighs,"I understand, I would do the same." But understanding wouldn't keep her from fighting. Laika flicks an ear at Ferox,"But I need you to promise not to come until I send a wolf for help. My pack may suspect, and yours might as well." She was hoping that the rouges wouldn't attack in general, but she was hoping if they did, that her pack would be able to fight them off. But most of all, she hoped none of her packmates would fight with the rouges against her, they had shown their anger towards her. Topaz had shown her anger about not having an Alpha Male, would she turn her back on her pack? That was something she feared greatly.

Ferox fell silent as he thought. It was a reasonable request, but what if they were unable to send a messenger? What if something happened to them on the way? After a moment, Ferox gave a sigh, looking back at Laika and gave a single nod. "I promise," he said quietly. "But only if you promise that you'll send a messenger if something goes wrong." That was another possibility that Ferox was afraid of: that Laika might not even send a messenger. He hoped she would if something happened. Ferox gave a quiet sigh and leaned closer to Laika. "I hope nothing ever comes of this threat," he said softly.
