Inferno opened one eye to see the other Hellhound, the male one, being thrown into the cage next to hers. She snorted, lifting her head and opening her other eye. “I thought you’d be smart enough to escape from the arena.” She growled lowly, not liking how this male had interrupted her as she was trying to sleep. “But looks like the humans caught you.” “The name’s Inferno, not that I care.” She snapped at him. Gesturing around, she growled. “Welcome to the arena, the place where humans catch and make supernaturals fight against one another from food, water, territory, and supplies. Welcome to me world.” She rolled her eyes as the Hellhound started snarling at the humans outside his cage, yelling at them to release him. A sharp sound cut through the air and the hellhound collapsed, his head hitting the ground. Sniffing the air, Inferno made sure that there was not blood, realizing it was a trankilizer dart. Thank the stars, that guy really needed to calm down. She thought to herself, curling back up. None of us want to be here, but sometimes life doesn’t deal you the best set of cards. You either fold or gamble your chances, and there’s no way I’m folding now.

As he woke up, the other hellhound is looking at him strangely. Inferno, that’s her name he thinks groggily. He look up and he sees nothing but metal chains chaining him into my cage. these weren't here before he thinks as he shakes his head. He starts to stand up and then his head hits the roof of his cage. “You.. you are supposed to live like this!?” I cry to the other Hellhounds. But then, the human, who I have learned is named Axel, comes over and looks at me up and down and says “You will make a fine wolf for this fight ring. yes you will do just fine …” The human walks away, and Timber stares at Inferno, waiting for her to start a fight, but for three long minutes as she stares at him back. he would narrow his eyes or growl and she would do the same. he didn't know what the human wanted of them but he knew it couldn't be good. maybe he wanted to breed a bunch of hellhounds? it was very unclear. Everyday the human would let him out of the cage but only so he could beat him with a cane. everyday the beatings got less severe, or less often and one day finally, the human said to Timber; “You are ready to fight in the arena now. if you do not win.. you won't want to know what happens to you.” He chuckles meanly.

Inferno sighed, laying her head back on her paws. “It’s been like this since I was a pup.” She growled. “Trust me. If I could escape, I would. But these prevent me from doing anything.” She moved her body slightly, and the chains and binding attached to her body janggled and chinked together. “They’re iced before they put them on. That’s why I can’t use my abilities and why it’s so painful to wear them.” When Axel came by to examine the new Hellhound, Inferno stayed still and quiet, glaring up at him with bitterness and resentment clouding her gaze. When her handler’s eyes met hers, he hit the bars of her cage with the gun he was holding, causing her to ury her head under her paws to try to escape the brutal sound of the metal ringing. “Don’t look at me like that, dog.” He spat. Each day, when the Hellhound - She hadn’t yet caught his name - came back with bruises and scratches, Inferno felt her heart break. She went through the very same thing as a pup, only by the hands of Axel. All for the sake of obedience, as the humans said. Inferno fought the days when he was gone. One day, she stumbled back into the kennel, her pelt steaming and a large gash stretching across her leg, bordered in black. “Damn ice-user.” She cursed, closing her eyes to try and ground herself from the pain.

Timber starts to pout, wanting to be thrown into action. “How long until another fight?” Whines Timber to Inferno. I really want to just fight.” While the gruling training was happening, he was taught the mindset of ‘kill or be killed’, and he wanted to kill. He was blood thirsty as hell was hot. Timber throws himself into the door the the kennel. It opens after the third hit. “Hah! You’re stuck in the-.” Timber couldn’t finish his sentence, because he was shot in the leg by a real gun. “You’re not supposed to be out right now, mutt.” Axel then kicks Timber from the side back into his tiny kennel. “You need to rest because someone’s comin’ in tomorrow to hopefully buy you, and skin ya. I hope they do, I mean, good riddence…” Axel starts the walk away, then turns around and lock the cage again, changes his mind, and grabs Timber but the throat, throwing him into an even smaller kennel. “Hope you learned your lesson, mutt.” Axel walks away. Timber groans, the bullet still lodged in his leg, causing him pain. “I-Infe-ern-no, h-he-elp m-me, p-please…” Timber faints from the pain before Inferno could respond.

Inferno growled at him. “Stop your whining, Timber.” She growled, shifting into her humanoid form while igniting her hands to try and thaw out the frozen gash in her leg. She hovered her hands over the wound, holding back a whimper of pain. “I don’t know when you’ll be thrown in there.” When he broke out of the cage, Inferno just shook her head and watched as Axel caught him and shot him in the leg with a real gun, sending the metalic scent of blood into the air. Inferno watched as he was thrown into a smaller cage, and sighed as she dragged herself to her feet, still in her humanoid form. “You really think I haven’t tried to escape?” She muttered, taking one of the bandages from her cage and using it to wrap the leg of the male Hellhound. “I’ve tried everything you can imagine, and nothing has worked. The only thing I ever got out of it was pain and more scars.”

Timber opens his eyes only to see another human. He tries to speak but realizes he'd been muzzled again. “Why hello there… mutt. You’re finally awake.” the man says. “ I don't think that you are up to my standards for breeding. you stay here and rot.” The man laughs evily. “B-but, you have to take him!” Yells Axel. “I-” Axel was cut off buy the buyer. “No, not another word. I told you I’m not gonna buy him, so I’m not gonna buy him. Breed him to that other one of your’s.” Timber quickly looks at Inferno, scared that they’ed have to breed together. “B-but Sir, my female isn’t up to standards, for breeding, and especially not to this… thing.” Axel snarls, casting a mean glare down to Timber, who quickly lights his own eyes on fire, just to scare him. “Anyway, I don’t need you anyway, I’ll use him in 2v2 matches with Inferno.” ‘Yes! My dream of fighting in the ring is finally happening! I shall ki-’ Timber get yanked out of him thoughts, literally, by Inferno swatting him. “Hey, you need to listen here now, in 2v2’s, you can’t… can’t kill them.” “What?!” Timber roars. “T-that’s not fair! In 1v1’s you can?!?!” “Calm the fluff down, you’ll probably get used as a 1v1’s dog too. He, he just want’s you to win, or…” She trails off, and stares coldly into Timber’s eyes. “Or?!” Squacks Timber. “Or, you’ll either have to breed to me.” Inferno shudders. “Or you can be killed, so win.” *Sorry for acting on your character, but I just wanted to add a bit of spice to the plot. You can ask me to remove it if you want me to. ^^*

{It’s fine, lmao.} . Inferno glared at him. “We’re probably fighting against creatures with sponsors. We’re not allowed to kill them, or there'll be severe consequences.” Snorting, she turned around and sat near the front of the cage, ready to be retrieved by Axel. “Trust me. I know. I’ve tried everything to get out, and everything in the fighting rink. Just injure them enough so that they give up, but do not kill them if you want to make it to the next dawn. Sponsors do not mess around with their creatures. Axel will kill you if you kill them. It’s happened before, and it’ll happen again.” The two of them fell into silence, Inferno staring out into the tunnel and Timber staring at his, frustration in his eyes. “You probably won’t have to be bred to me.” She spoke up tensely. “Axel’s not a breeder. He’s a gambler in fights. He gambles money on us to win the fights. So you don’t have to worry about that.” Axel came back grabbing Inferno’s chain and grabbing Timber by the throat and dragged them out of their cages and toward the arena. “You’re fighting two creatures today. One’s a water nymph and the other an ice giant. Don’t mess it up, and win. Then, you don’t have to fight for a few days after this battle.” He told them ruffley. Inferno cursed under her breath. An ice and a water type creature? Those were the two worst creatures to have to fight against considering they were fire-based creatures.

Timber sighs. ‘Finally,’ He thinks. ‘Finally I'm going to fight.’ “Hey Inferno. Why don’t I lead this?” “Because you’re gonna get killed. I’m more experienced, y’know, in everything.” “I’ve fought dragons before! I can handle this!” Axel swings his cane, hitting Timber in the legs. “Shut up. You’re leading this, don’t mess it up.” He says, pointing to Inferno. “Man, I wanted to lead!” Timber whines. “That goes for you too, dog. Fon’t mess with Inferno’s chance to win.” Axel says, pointing the cane in between Timber’s eyes. “Is he always like this? Actually, I already know the answer; yes, yes he is. Meanie…” Timber look up, startled, by the announcer starting the match. “Welcome, Humans, Demons, and creatures! We welcome you with open arms, to a 2v2 with Team Trouble, handler Axel, Infero the Hellhound, with a new competitor, Timber the Hellhound. This duo is sure to bring you some trouble, so lets get ready to rumble! Our next team is an icey, watery duo, Burst the Water Dragon, and Flips the Ice Dragon!!" Inferno snorted as Timber muttered about their handler’s actions and behaviors, but didn’t turn around, instead focusing on the steel doors leading into the area. Padding forward, she snarled as she entered the ring, eyes glinting savagely as the crowd went wild, cheering and shouting for her and Timber. She glared at the ice and water dragon, shifting on her paws and growling lowly. Once the fight started, she immediately flared up her ebony flames, engulfing her entire body in the hot tendrils. Timber leaped back, exclaiming, “Why is your fire so hot?” Inferno just rolled her eyes and started stalking towards the dragons, aking a wide arch toward them. “Keep quiet and surround yourself with the hottest flames you can manage to uphold. Ice, water, and fire do not mix. We can inflict a lot of pain on them, but the same can be said for us.” The ice dragon was the first to move. She darted forward, slicing her tail down at Inferno. She leaped out of the way, lunging toward the dragon and swiped at her snout, leaving long red lines in the scales of the dragon. Flips screeched and swiped at Infenro once more, this time with her claws, and managed to catch her in the leg. The skin immediately froze around the injury, and though she wanted to howl with pain, Inferno narrowed her eyes and tried to ignore the pain, focusing on the fight. “Deal with the water dragon.” She growled at Timber. “I’ll take care of this one.”

Timber rolls his eyes. “Will do.” He then jumps over to face the water dragon. Timber glares at Burst with uncontainable fury. “You’re goin’ down!!!” Timber strikes first, moving some of the floor as protection, sending some over to Inferno, too, as she was about to be shot with a gust of water and Ice. Timber then grips the floor with his claws, digging them in until his paws hurt. “Come at me!” Timber calls. The water dragon smirks and starts to spray water everywhere. Timber rolls his eyes and dodges each blow, except the last one, he was hit right in the middle, but trying not to hold Inferno back, he keeps going, his paws were burning with fire, so he throws it at the dragon he was facing. It hits and stuns the dragon, but not for long; it rears up and starts to glow with a pale blue glow. The crowd went wild, because they had never seen a water dragon go fully charged. “Kill the Hellhound!” The crowd jeers, to which Timber ignores. Timber dodges left, right, up, down, forward, backward, and then hits a fatal blow to the dragon. Timber had thrown fire into the water dragons’ mouth, just as it was about to spit water, causing smoke to arise. The water dragon was out of motivation, and slumped to the floor. Timber turned to look at Inferno, as he was struck with Ice-Breath, which froze him. If he didn’t get out of there, he would completely freeze, and die.
