Fenriz raised an eyebrow and looked him up and down. "Mhm.. it's nice." He then walked over and stood next to him to look out. The air was crisp. "Yeah well, you aren't the only one that doesn't have a perfect life." Fen rolled his eyes. He was less nervous now, but his heart was still beating fast. "Stupid father making me choose a bride. Well, either that or he chooses for me and I don't particularly like either option." He sighed and glanced over at Lucian for a second. "Same for you, I'm assuming?"

"Yeah." There was a little venom in his voice, which kinda surprised him. Lucian wasn't used to that. "My parents say to marry a bride or they choose for me. Like, what if I don't love anyone like that? Or even know them? But I have to, in order for me to be crowned king and all..." He sighed, taking his hand and rubbing his face. "It's just... so overwhelming, y'know? Being expected to do so many things and all that... I wish that- that I just had someone who understood me and loved me like I love them, and all..."

Fenriz looked over at Lucian, he didn't mmediately look away like usual. "Yeah.. I get it. But there's not really anything we can do. I'm not going to reject the crown all because I have to marry a woman." He pasued for a moment and closed his mouth tightly. Did I just say too much? I shouldn't have said that. I need to go. ~~~ Without saying anything else, he turned around and started walking back to the party, fearing he might have said a little too much and he didn't want to make that mistake again. Now all he needed to do was go out there, find some girl in a dress and pretend to be interested in her. Should be easy enough, he was good at pretending. His parents would be looking for him soon anyway and he didn't want to be caught spending his time with a boy when he's supposed to be looking for a bride.

His eyes widened at the words. All because I have to marry a woman. That's what Fenriz had said. Lucian ran to catch up to the other, catching his hand. He tugged, trying to get him to stop. "Wait! Don't go, I still wanna talk!" He quietly exclaimed, trying not to be very loud and attract attention. "Please!"

Fen turned when his arm was yanked but he ripped his hand away as fast as he could. "Don't-" He took a breath and looked at him, "Don't touch me." He then proceeded to walk back into the ballroom faster than he had before. Just as he did, he saw his father talking to a young woman in a long pink dress. Her brown hair was curled neatly and her long brown wings were folded up at her sides. Judging by her horns, wings and attire, she was of some angel species, or light creature. "Ah, there you are Fenriz! Come here, we were just talking about you." Loki smiled and as soon as the woman turned away, he shot a glare at Fen. One that said where have you been? Get over here right now. Fen looked back in Lucian's direction quickly before he walked forward towards his dad and the light creature. She was beautiful, and she smiled at him warmly and genuinely. It made Fen feel sick.

He silently stared after the other, hand outstretched. He felt something trickle down his cheek, and touching it, he saw a tear. Huh...? Why am I crying...? Lucian made his way back to the balcony, almost like a... *cough* real world robot *cough*. There were no thoughts in his mind, he wasn't even really aware of his surroundings.

Fenriz joined his father and the woman, apparently named Maisa, and he did his best to seem interested in what she had to say. She talked a lot was all he gathered from the conversation as he wasn't really listening to her. Instead, Fen's mind was stuck on the Angelic prince, he felt bad for hurting his feelings, for being so abrasive. Truth be told, he was afraid of his dad seeing them alone and thinking the worst- which would actually somewhat be the truth at least on Fenriz's end. ~~~ "Fen, she asked you a question." His father's voice brought him out of his thoughts. ~~~ "Oh, sorry. What did you say?" Fen looked at Maisa, she had a mild scowl on her face from being ignored, though at his attention her expression softened and she smiled. ~~~ "I was wondering if you would like to have dinner with me in my kingdom this weekend." Her voice was soft and sweet. Too sweet. It just annoyed him. ~~~ "Oh, yes. I would love to, of course." That seemed to satisfy her as her lips pulled into a wide grin, she giggled and leaned up, pecking Fen on the lips before she 'gracefully' walked off back to a group of other light creatures, most likely her family. ~~~ As sson as she was gone, Fen's smile dissapeared and was replaced with a scowl. His father had gone, too, so his mind naturally drifted back to Lucian as he wiped her kiss off. ~~~ It didn't take him long to sneak back outside where he left the said angel, hoping he was still there so he could apologize, though it bothered the demon slightly that he even felt bad at all. Why would he? It's not like he cares.

He just stared dully into the distance. Why did this bother him? It's not like he really knew the Demonic prince. It's not like he loved Fenriz like a partner. Lucian didn't even notice the other prince coming back. He was too... absorbed? No, not absorbed. He was barely even aware of things. Too much was on his mind to the point he didn't even think of anything. Too much was going on internally and externally.

Fen was relieved for some reason to see that the ther prince was still standing there, he was looking out into the night and seemed a little spaced out. He approached quietly and stood next to him but a foot or two away, waiting for him to notce that he was back. "Prince Lucian?" Fenriz spoke softly, though his voice was rough, he didn't seem to even notice his presence. Had he really hurt his feelings that bad? "I uh.. Just wanted to apologize.. for what I said earlier." Fen was not the best at apologizing, the words were foreign on his tongue.

He turned his head, almost sullenly looking at the other prince - if not for him not being fully aware of his surroundings. Lucian's eyes were now laced with tiredness, due to him being utterly exhausted from not sleeping the night before and all that has happened. "'M'sorry..." He managed to get out before fainting where he was.
