Through the dark forest a wolf pup walked, while his steps were impressively light for his age of eight weeks; they were still not as fluid, as graceful, as the older members of the pack. His eyes were still the clear blue of the younger wolves, and on his soft coat one could see the beginnings of his adult coloration, the pale gold of his pelt an unusual shade. His ears were tilted backwards in the manner that indicated that he was uncertain, knew that he was not supposed to be out like this on his own, but was going through with it anyways.
As he walked, not quite scared, but not quite confident, the pup recalled the stories of old that could be heard being told to the younger generation. Stories of how the pack came to be; stories that taught and entertained and cautioned respectively; some tales told of great bravery and some of great cowardice; of mistakes and victories and everything in between.
Stories of the Mistfall pack.
For while storytelling is not a known enjoyment of said pack, they do like a good story, and will readily listen to another if they have one. Indeed, not too much is known about the Mistfall wolves, not even the origin of the pack's name -although there are speculations- they have garnered a reptuation for being mysterious and as elusive as the shadows that lurk in their territory. They are a stealthy bunch, like shadows, like mist, they stalk within the darkness and shadows and cover of the forest; through the foliage with barely a whisper, moving with a smooth grace that is more cat-like than anything. If the wolves of this pack do not want you to find them, then you won't; the times you'll see them is when they wish for you to.
And this young wolf, was a Mistfall pup. Not walking, not slinking through the darkness, and cautiously exploring while he is able to. No doubt an adult will notice, or have noticed his absence, and will be on his trail promptly, so he decided to make the best of it. And so he went on, stopping when he heard a sound, ears pricking forward and rotating, before moving on. And alert as he was, he didn't realize that he had come to the very edge of the pack territory some time later, only being aware of it in a sudden rush as he noted that the forest had thinned out, the scent strong but not present anywhere else beyond the border, and the sensation of warmer earth underneath his paws. There was one thought that occured to him as he made this realization.

(Oh take your time to get your post how you want it, I usually am a slower writer so I can relate to that)
