Ruina dismounts, pulling the reins over the head of Maverick, who lowers his head to make it easier,"Thank you." Maverick nickers to his owner, who chuckles and pats his shoulder. She was about to go find somewhere to have Maverick rest and stay until she came back to get him. So the stables. Ruina turns in a circle, looking for the stables when she hears someone call out to her.
Ruina turns to see a man with blonde hair and blue eyes on a mare, riding towards her. Maverick was already trying to put his head down and graze at grass that wasn't there. She nods slightly,"It was no issue." Well, it kind of was. She would have preferred to stay at home and send one of her men. But, she figured better not let down her king.
Maverick's head comes back up as the mare nickers, but he does nothing back, simply nudging Ruina. Attempting to eat her shirt. He was looking for treats since there was no grass. Ruina sighs, tapping Maverick on the nose,"Quit." Maverick throws his head up dramatically and Ruina rolls her eyes, drama queen.

Alpheus laughed. "Here catch." He said throwing her a bag of horse treats. He slowly dismounted. And slipped her reins over her head. "Follow me, I'll show you where you can put your horse." He said. He lead Sugabell into the stables and lead her to the cross ties and slowly untracked her, taking off her sadly, sadly pad, and bridle. She replaced her bridle with the dark blue halter. He then attached a lead rope to her halter and lead her towards her stall. As he walked her inside her stall and unhooked her lead rope. She closed her horses gate. He looked and walked over to a empty stall. "This stall isn't being used, you can put him here for a while." He added.
He looked at her. "Once the horses are taken care of I'll take you to where we are meeting my king." He said. "We aren't meeting him at the castle, we have a secret spot only the king, queen and I know about. It's where we meet up when we don't want our citizens knowing what we are talking about." He added.
He took his bag and started filing it wil drinks and food. He grabbed multiple other stuff. Once he finished he went into the tack room and grabbed giant buckets of horse food and walked into the stalls and fed every horse there, including throwing hay into each stall. He watched as Sugabell sleeps he'd her long neck and grabbed a mouth full of hay and started chewing on it. Sugabell was the only horse with actual scars from battle, at times other kings and queens don't know where they are from. But him and his king and queen know it's Tom battle. (sorry it's late and short) |

Ruina catches the bag, surprise flashing in her grey eyes,"Oh, thanks." She didn't have much time to think on it. Maverick was nipping at the bag in no time. With a small chuckle and eyeroll, she feeds the stallion a couple of treats. Listening to the man as he talks. Finally nodding,"Alright." She closes the bag and tucks it in the saddlebag, gently pushing Maverick's head away,"Enough." The stallion nips and Ruina rolls her eyes,"Pig." Maverick snorts and Ruina laughs,"Come on boy." She follows after the man and his mare, holding Maverick's reins in her hands.
The stallion reluctantly follows, still wanting treats. Ruina's eyes flicker to where he gestured to the empty stall. "Alright." It didn't take her long to untack her stallion and soon he was groomed as well. Relaxing in the stall where Ruina wanders to bring him some hay and water. Tucking his tack in the stall with him, the stallion was trained to not mess with it. But she did keep the saddle bags on her. Turning back to the man.
She listens quietly, nodding,"Alright." A secret meeting spot? She knew finding the murderer was going to be kept down low, but she didn't expect it to be kept that down low. Was anyone even aware of the search for the murderer? Well, obviously beside the royals and this man before her. She hides her frown.
She stands beside Maverick's stall, who was chowing down on the hay. The saddlebags slung over her shoulders, grey eyes watching as the man moves around. Tossing food and hay into stalls for the horses. No doubt her own people were doing that back home. She loved helping feed the horses. She did have her favorite horse of course, Maverick, but she loved the others horses as well.
There was no time to become homesick though, she had a murder to solve. She just hoped she didn't get an sexist remarks over here. She had already had to prove herself at home. The last thing she needed was to prove she could be just as helpful as a man while trying to solve a murder |

Alpheus grabbed something from Sugabell's saddlebag and stuffed it in his pocket. "We should get going." He said after clearing his throat. He had opinions about her. But he wasn't gonna say anything because he didn't really know her yet. And the king of Turhan wouldn't have sent her if she wasn't a great warrior. He walked towards the exit. "They should be safe in here. Our locals were told they weren't to leave their houses until the king and queeen said so. They don't know the reason is because of a murderer... they think because of a storm." He said. "We hate lying to them but if one of our locals is the murderer, then they would get tipped off we asked you guys for help." He added. "One thing my king didn't tell yours, we aren't just searching for my friend's murderer, we think something bigger is happening. That someone is targeting our king. Killing his son is one step. But we don't know what else will happen or is happening." He said before going quiet again.
He was heading towards the woods. There was a trail. A trail that led to the secret meeting place. He started heading that way. He took a deep breath. He ran a hand down his face and threw his hair. It was clear he was stressed. His best friend was murdered and they didn't know where or who the murderer was. Or why.. Everyone who has known Alpheus, they could tell this has definitely upset him. They were so close, they grew up together. His parents were second parents to him. Yeah his parents were alive but they weren't close to their son at all. |

Ruina makes sure her sword was on her before adjusting her cloak to fit more snugly on her shoulders. Nodding,"Alright." She could agree with that. The quicker they got this done, the quicker she could return home. And she really wanted to return home. She was really regretting not sending one of her warriors, telling him it was a test. They were smart enough for it.
Ruina hesitates, glancing at her horse before following after the man. Listening. She nods, a storm? That was an interesting cover up. The sky was awfully clear, so the fact the citizens believed it. Well... Maybe. Some storms did happen to just randomly pop up out of nowhere. There was no telling. Ruina simply nods again, that all made sense... In a way.
Her lips thin at his next words. Of course. She should have known this was bigger then just one murder. You didn't go after the prince without going after the whole royal family. The king and queen would be next. And when there was no one else to take the throne, war would break out within the kingdom. Everyone wanting the throne and no one knowing how to properly settle it.
Ruina's eyes flicker around as they start towards the woods. She preferred the woods, more hiding spots. Open area was good for her as well, but she easily was able to hide among the forestry. So, if they were to be ambushed along the way, she wasn't too worried. She also felt decently confident in her skills. |

Alpheus continued walking down the path. He slowly looked back at her, making sure she didn't get lost. He had his sword hanging from his hip. "We're almost there." He said. He watched as the trees went on for miles. "Yeah, the civilians didn't ask any questions. They know the only people allowed to be outside is My team, me, and the king and queen." He said. He took a deep breath. His best friend didn't deserve to die lie the way he did. He went to a stop so she could catch up. He took his hand and ran it down the side of his face. He wasn't gonna lie, he thought she was pretty. But he didn't say anything. "We're almost there." He said. He leaned against the tree taking a break. "Let's rest for a little bit. The king and queen know it will take a bit for us to get there. They are getting everything ready for the meeting. Again I want to thank you for coming out here on such short notice. The Prince and I were best friends growing up, everyone close to me can see the impact it's taken on me. But my king won't take me off the case, because he knows it's a lost cause and I can work through my emotions." He said. |

Ruina follows quietly, her eyes scanning her surroundings. She inclines her head slightly as he states they were almost there. Though her lips thin a little more at his next words. Would her own kingdom do the same thing if their prince had been murdered? Would they keep it a secret from their people? Or would they allow their kingdom to know of such a tragic death.
Ruina strides along behind him, she'd stayed decently far back from him for a reason. She did not like being close to people, she liked personal space and so she'd chosen to stay a few feet back. Her grey eyes land on him for a moment as his hand runs down his face. She nods,"Alright."
She did not like how he chose to take a break, she wanted to get this over with. However she simply replies,"No problem." She'd set out as quick as she could, because her king had requested it. She trusted her king and her king had sent her here. The death of a prince was tragic, so perhaps that helped her decide to move quicker. She simply nods at his next words,"Sorry for your loss." The loss of a friend would be terrible, she could not imagine how she would react if Thaola or Tarron died. |

Alpheus took a deep breath. "It will take a while for me to cope with it." He said. "We better get going." He said. After a while of them taking a break, he stood back up and stretched his arms. He startwd his way back towards the secret meeting spot. He looked at his wrist, at the writing, which he had wrote the full directions to the place. He saw both landmarks coming up into view. "We're almost there." He called back to her. A few steps later, he watched the king and queen come into sight. He slowly walked towards them. "Your highness," he said respectfully as he got closer to them. He knew the Truhan warrior was close behind. King Corwin watched as his warrior came into sight. "Warrior Alphues, was she there?" He asked, he was standing next to his wife. "Yes your highness, she is close behind me. That's her coming into sight." Alpheus said. He put his hand on his sword which was on his side. King Corwin looked at the Truhan warrior. He gave her a smile. "Welcome Truhan warrior." He said. "Thank you for coming on such short notice." The king called out. He set a bunch of paper on a giant rock in the middle of the meeting area. Alpheus walked to the side, he gently grabbed his sword and detached it from his belt and laid it on the table. "Your highness, do you guys have a plan for us? How many people should know we've asked for help from our allies?" He asked as he began leaning against the table. |

Ruina simply nods again. Time helped. It did not heal all wounds, but it helped. She could admit that much. She pushes off her tree, following after him as he starts moving again. Her gaze still constantly on the move as they went. As they got closer and he announced they were almost there, her gaze sharpens. She was on even higher alert now. It would not do her good to be caught off guard or accidentally offend the king and/or queen.
Ruina emerges behind the man, bowing slightly,"Your Majesties." Came her respectful greeting as she straightens back up. "I am sorry for your loss." It was truly a terrible loss. She would be devastated if she lost one of her own siblings. Ruina nods again,"It was of no issue. My King was happy to offer his help, and I was happy to offer my own help." She manages a small, respectful, smile. She hoped she'd said the right thing. She didn't often deal with royalty.
She listens quietly to the man speak. Those were good questions. The King of Truhan had kept it secret, the only ones who knew were himself and Ruina.

King Corwin stood there looking between the two. "For the next few days, I want both of you to do patrols on your horses together. Keep an eye out for anyone who shouldn't be out of the houses." He said. He then looked to Ruina. "Warrior Ruina, if you spot anyone ask Alpheus if the person is apart of his team. But we need to make sure that the murderer isn't on Alpheus'a team. If they are, Alpheus won't be in trouble as his team was created three years ago." He added. Alpheus paid attention to the king and he nodded to what he was saying. He then grimaced at the thought the murderer could be one of his own warriors. (sorry it's late and short!) |
