Aspens warning bark sounded from the door. One of the kings messengers was standing shakily near the door " t-the king r-request y- you at the p-palace" he said later that afternoon... "As you probably know" the king said " a tradegy has struck We have chosen you to investigate this tradegy with the help of our allied kingdom's chosen represent. " ( it was a superstition that if you said killed or died you would be cursed no one but the royal family easily believed that though) " the representative will be here in a few days... I suggest you be ready" the king handed him a letter " this says the date and time of the expected arrive time"

It did not take Ruina long to pack her things and tack her horse. And soon she was in the courtyard, waiting on Tarron and Thaola so she could say goodbye and start off. On her hip was her sword, she had cleaned and sharpened it only a few minutes ago. She also had a knife hidden among her clothes. She did not prefer to fight with a knife, however it was a last resort. Something she would only pull out if she had been disarmed of her sword and could not fight hand to hand. Another thing she was good at.
"Ruina."
Grey eyes flicker sideways where Tarron and Thaola had just entered the courtyard. "Ah. Took you long enough. I was about to leave without a goodbye." Thaola grimaces,"Sorry. I got distracted." Ruina laughs,"That does not surprise me." Tarron frowns at his cousin,"Be safe, Rui. The death of a prince is always bad news for a kingdom. But the murder of a prince? Well, I fear there may be more behind this murder than what it may seem." Ruina smiles at Tarron,"Do not fear, cousin. I will be careful. I promise." Thaola nods,"Come home soon." Ruina swings aboard her steed,"I will. I promise." With a final wave, Ruina was off.
The stallion gallops out of the courtyard, moving quickly down the path as the castle gates close behind her. It would not take her too long to arrive and with any luck she would be home before she knew it. She only hoped it was not a big affair. That someone, a single person, had gone and murdered the prince. She did not want to have to uncover something big and terrible.

Ruina hums to herself as she rides through the forest. After about ten minutes she'd entered the forest and left behind the decently flat lands of Truhan. The forest was quiet and peaceful and Ruina felt safe. Of course, her grey eyes were still moving. No matter how safe she felt, there was no telling what was in the forest. It would take the rest of the day for her to just reach the border of Truhan and the neighboring kingdom, which Ruina remembered was named Ritha. She knew a little about Ritha.
She'd never truly focused on the kingdoms, more on which ones were dangerous, and Ritha was not one of them. Not one she had to worry about. So, she didn't know that much about it. She knew a lot about a few other ones, including Iprihan, Krolon, and Yudia. Those were the major ones she kept her eye on. Though smaller or the same size as Truhan, their armies were fierce and brave and definitely a force to be rekconed with. Thankfully, Truhan was perfectly capable of defending their borders and had allies for help if absoutely needed.
There had been peace among the kingdoms for the last few years though. Of course there were always skirmishes, there was no way there would be complete peace, but it had been calm. No major battles and the biggest news to be receievd in the last few years was the murder of Ritha's heir prince. Ruina only hoped it was the right idea to agree to go and help. Surely there had been someone better than her to do the job. So why had the king picked her?

Toklo and Aspen walked through the forest well aspen walked Toklo rode on his little bay horse. Aspen 's view: Aspen sniffed and barked this was a whole new adventure and was so exiting! She wagged her tail as she heard a squirrel duffle through the branches she stoped to sniff at some interesting leaves " Aspen! " her human called he was on that silly brown thing with seemingly no spirit of energy what do ever it just plodded around not doing any thing interesting Boooring The LEAVES were more interesting that that. Aspen huffed her tail flicking behind her At least they were going somewhere interesting! Toklo's view: they arrived at the palace gates the well worn stones making clopping sounds as the horse walked. He dismounted he bettered for Aspen to sit as they waited for the king and the other kingdom's represent to arrive.

The rest of the day went by fast and just as the border of Ritha's kingdom appears, the sun was getting low in the sky. She would continue no further until the morning and so she found a little clearing off to the side and dismounts. She pats her stallion as she begins to untack. Placing the tack down on the ground and placing her things beside them. Changing the bridle out for a halter, Ruina leads the stallion over towards a tree and ties him to it. Within seconds the stallion was eating at the grass, tail flicking flies away.
She would go find some wood for some fire and then some water for both herself and her stallion. She'd brought some food, not a whole lot as she expected to arrive before she ran out of food. And she'd also brought a sleeping bag so she would have somewhere to sleep.
It didn't take her long to gather some wood and before long the fire was crackling. Night had fallen and very little light was still visible. She'd brought water for her stallion and was cooking some dinner over the fire. She'd drank some water as well. Ruina passes some more time by just staring into the fire. But after she had eaten, she rolls her sleeping bag out. It was time to go to sleep. So, after checking her stallion was secure and the fire was starting to die down, she climbed into her sleeping bag and within minutes she was fast asleep.

It was getting dark Toklo was in the forest that was just out side the castle walls. He had a small fire flicking in a small circle of stones his horse, Tag was grazing in the fall grass, He ate some of the dried berries saving most of them for the expected jurney . The supplies he had packed were leaning on a tree, giving gay a break free ok the heavy load. Aspen yawned and curled up tired after the long day of travel. Owls hooted firefly flew around attracted to the sparks the fire made. Toklo crawled into his sleeping bag as The fire went to embers then coals then finally out.

Ruina was awake before the sun was. Stomping out the rest of the fire and spreading the embers so they wouldn't start a forest fire. She snacks on some breakfast as she packs everything back up. She makes sure that her stallion gets some more water and food, before she starts tacking him back up. Saddlepad then the saddle. She pulls the cinches and breast collar and once they were all secure, then she swings her pack on his back. Giving his shoulder a pat,"Good boy." She unhalters him and slips the bridle on.
As she hangs the halter and lead on the horn, she turns back to what was left. Her sword and scabbard. She grabs the scabbard, attaching it to her hip before she was finally ready. A final glance around and she swings on board the horse. And with a click of the tongue they were off. It shouldn't take them too much longer to arrive, but that solely depended on what they encountered

Aspen view: The sun rose steadily offer the tree role Aspen groaned and stretch out. Her ears clicked at the birds singing noisely. Her paws felt cold agenst the ground and the wind ruffled her fur. Toklo view: Toklo loaded the heavy pack and saddle on his horse tag. It was a thirty minet ride give or take and the ground was covered by a thick layer of frost. The birds called out a song telling the wilderness it was morning chirp- trewl- chip-twerp. The wind blew the remaining leaves of the trees and grey clouds promised snow. The ride was slowed by Tags membranes of the wind horses were like that somtimes . The elegant gates of the castle slowly came into focus he saw the king awaiting the arrival.

Grey eyes scan her surroundings as she rides. Her stallion plodding on. It was a relaxing ride and as they exit the forest, they still don't face any kind of issues. Ruina figured it would be a complete straight shot from Truhan to Ritha. Not many bandits around and Ruina figured even if there were, she could easily handle herself. The only thing she would have to watch is not getting trampled by her horse. He would be happy to kick some bandits in the head, but he probably wouldn't pay attention to who exactly he was kicking so the likely hood of Ruina getting kicked was definitely pretty high.
