The toms tail flickered slowly. He side-eyed her as she made her remark on his family. Not that what she said affected him in any way. After all, it's not like he cared about what anyone said about them. No, he didn't particularly hate them, he just felt like a few harsh words sent their way isn't detrimental. Also, they weren't around nor will he try to defend them. His yellow eyes would sparkle when she gave her thoughts about him. Though his face would not face her.
Heroic...
He repeated the word in his head over and over trying to fathom the thought of him being such a thing. "Heh, that's the first time someone said something... Nice to me." Well, his mother would always say good things about him but that only lasted for a short amount of time. There was just something about the silver she-cat words that made him feel...special.
The dark toms head would turn to face the fellow feline in front of him. A gentle expression shrouded his face "You have my gratitude." For the first time in a long time, he felt a sense of contentment though he hid it through a vacant expression. He was going through a few waves of emotions but the mention of the "city" made that moment dissipate. He tilted his head in puzzlement. Is that what my father was talking about? He questioned himself. "Yes, it would be nice of you to guide me there." He did catch her uncomfortable shifting when she mentioned the city, which had him contemplating for a moment. What was it like? How big is it? Are there other cats there? He had many questions and hopefully, most of them will be answered when the time comes.
The sound of rumbling pulled him back into reality. He chuckled embarrassedly while simultaneously putting himself into a sitting position. Opaque tail resting neatly on his forepaws. Clearing his throat he spoke again, "So Adara why are you living out here, alone? Also, when do we head out I...I mean I'm not trying to rush you, heh-heh after all this is your home." Gah! all that just to lead her astray from talking about his rumbling tummy.
