Mara James Now it was her turn to smirk. He certainly hadn't been expecting that now had he? The words had spilled out of her mouth before she could stop them, but boy was she glad they had. Raising an eyebrow at the wink he sent his friends, she resisted the urge to say anything else. Or kick his leg, which was in reach. Whichever might have come first. Couldn't he tell she didn't want to be bothered? *Oh joy,* she thought *I have his number.* Crumbling up the paper, Mara excitedly looked to the teacher. Yes, the point of being here. Now to hope Jaxon had gotten his fill of bothering her and would forget she ever said anything.

Jaxon Peters . When the teacher walked in the room, Jaxon let out a loud groan. He hated school. Especially this class. But now that he's found a target, it might make the class more interesting. Jaxon brought out his notebook and tore off a small piece. He took out a pencil and wrote, "Come on, don't you like me a little bit? It's okay to admit it." He folded it up and passed it up to her, a sly grin appeared on his face. Jaxon gained joy out of taunting others. It's what he did best. As he waited for her to open the note, he let out a small chuckle and leaned back in his seat.

Mara James Clutching her pencil tightly, she tried to ignore the loud idiot. Why couldn't he just accept the fact that this is where he had to be and rather than fight it and might it worse for him and those around him. He could, I don't know, go along with it and not feel tortured? Mara got the note but really didn't want to open it. However, she did because she knew he was watching. Oh, how he made her want to laugh. Keeping her eyes on the teacher, she crumpled this piece and let it fall to the floor. Once it hit the ground, she crushed it with her foot. He was not getting a rise out of her. Not today.

(I'm so sorry! I literally thought I replied) . Jaxon Peters . He watched as Mara crumpled up the paper. He chuckled slightly to himself. The teacher caught him and stopped class. "Jaxon, since you seem to be paying attention, you can answer this question." She paused for a minute. Jaxon started panicking. "Explain to me what an atom is?" She tapped her pencil on the table as she awaited his answer. "Uhhh....it's like...." The words couldn't come out of his mouth. "Mara, could you help him?" The teacher asked. Jaxon sunk back in his seat and crossed his arms. He could've easily answered the question if the teacher hadn't interrupted him.

(It's alright, I've been in a weird mood lately and haven't been up to responding to any rps until today. Also, not me looking up what an atom is for a fancy definition XD) Mara James Mara looked up with interest when the teacher had stopped talking. Seeing that the teacher was looking at someone, she followed the gaze and saw it was Jaxon the teacher was looking at. Smiling to herself, she turned back around and just patiently sat while editing her notes. Hearing her name mentioned, she looked up and sat straight. A calm, cool smile graced her lips before Mara answered. "An atom is the smallest unit of ordinary matter that forms a chemical element. Every solid, liquid, gas, and plasma is composed of neutral or ionized atoms. They are extremely small, typically around 100 picometers across." With her answer spoken, Mara let her eyes find Jaxon out of the corner of her gaze and give him a smirk that spoke of just how proud she was of herself.

( I have totally been feeling the same way XD plus I've been getting so busy lately so I'm trying to respond to all of my RPs, so my apologies if I take a while. ) . Jaxon Peters . His glare traveled over to Mara. Now he felt she was simply trying to make him look stupid. "Suck up." He muttered to himself while crossing his arms and leaning back in his chair. "What was that, Peters?" The teacher overheard and called him out. Jaxon felt panicked and tried to come up with something slick. "I..I said she did a good job." He said with a nervous smile which slowly faded as the teacher turned back around. Jaxon rolled his eyes and looked over to his friends who seemed to be keeping in a laugh. Jaxon scoffed and hit them in the shoulder. However, his gaze kept traveling to Mara. He truly couldn't tell if he was attracted to her or if he spites her. Jaxon took out his notebook and decided to actually do some schoolwork to get his mind off of that smart ass girl. A cute smart ass rather. Jaxon thought. He shook his head and buried his face in his notebook.

Mara James Her hand flew to her mouth once she turned to face the front of the classroom. Not only did he get called out to answer a question, but now he got called out for saying something rude. Her snickers had to be silenced immediately. Once she had calmed herself, Mara turned to him one last time to mouth "thank you" with the sweetest smile she could muster, obviously this was a sarcastic move only to irritate him more. For the rest of the class, she felt very proud of how this class had gone. Her heart had betrayed her and went ahead in pounding in fear when Jaxon had first started talking to her, but it all turned out just fine. Mara took notes and raised her hand to either ask a semi-complicated question or to answer a question the teacher had asked. She didn't care what anyone thought about her for doing this. The bell rang, signifying that class was over, so Mara packed up her things and started to make her way out of the room.
