Usually Rylee was completely okay with silence. However this time she felt uncomfortable. Probably because minutes ago they had their hands all over each other about to do the deed and now they were sitting here. Not to mention with every passing second Silas got more and more sobver, and more likely to recognize who she was. She wasn't looking forward to that.
Her eyes flicker towards him briefly as his fingers tap against the desk. Was he going to say something? Should she say something? Shit. How was she going to get out of this now? It was awkward now. Now if they had done the deed and he'd fallen asleep. It would be easy to slip away and just write a note. But she didn't think he'd ever sleep now....
She listens quietly as he speaks. Damn, that was wrong of whoever he'd slept with. She may hate someone, but she'd never hate someone that much. Also, she'd probably not get rid of the baby. She had a thing about getting rid of babies... After all, that'd almost happen to her and in then end she technically was gotten rid of. She blinks at him, what was the likelyhood of her getting pregnant? There was no way in hell she was healthy enough to sustain herself and a baby. Would that keep her body from having one? "I don't think I have a high possibility of becoming pregnant." Came her quiet answer.

Silas wasn't normally a person to act based on his past but it was true. He didn't have sex with Rylee cause of what happened with Nancy. He wasn't sure who exactly failed at preventing a baby but either way their relationship ended poorly. He didn't want to risk it with another woman or be put into another awkward situation. So he didn't go there with Rylee.
"I don't think I have a high possibility of becoming pregnant."
He barely heard her say this, it was so soft. He looked back up and his gaze met hers again. She was pretty but very familiar. He couldn't exactly place where or why she seemed familiar. Not quite yet.
He didn't know what to say so instead, he stood up and sat on his bed beside her. He took one of her hands into his own, frowning a bit,"It was just a rough time...for the both of us. I don't think I'm ready. Not quiet yet." He brought her hand to his mouth and kissed her knuckles. He made sure his lips brushed every one.
"But I am drawn to you and my past has nothing to do with you. I'm sorry that I made things so complicated. That's all I seem to do to others around me," He sighed and let go of her hand. All he had ever known himself to be was complicated. Edited at September 17, 2022 08:53 PM by Ashes of Night

Did Rylee really want to have sex? Honestly she didn't know, it was something she knew of, but something she had never experienced. Good or bad. She knew what came from sex, and she knew the pains. But, in terms of kids, Rylee didn't really want any. To have a kid while living on the streets? That would be terrible on both her and the kid.
Rylee holds Silas' gaze, unsure what to say now. It was true, she thought. There was no way in hell she was healthy enough to produce a baby. She just hoped he didn't pity her. She didn't want pity.
Rylee watches still partly wary as Silas gets up to sit beside her. Though she flinches when he takes her hand, she doesn't pull away. Simply nodding slightly in agreement with him, definitely not ready. Though a small smile crosses her lips as he kisses her knuckles.
"It's fine. Now that I really think about it, I don't think I'm ready for..." She makes a vague gesture at the bed. Sex. She'd never had much physical contact and to make such a jump in terms of physical contact. It freaked her out slightly.

She must be feeling betrayed or unwanted after everything. He didn't know what to do to fix that. Perhaps if he had been drunker he could have forgotten about what happened with Nancy. Perhaps he would have been able to. But he held back. He wanted to treat Rylee right.
He watched her facial expression, seeing how she would react to all of this. It was a lot. He didn't want to hurt her. He was trying to be careful. To slowly introduce himself to her.
"I don't want to push you into anything that you aren't ready for. If I ever do that, you have a right to kick me where the sun dont shine," He leaned against her ever so slightly. It was just enough where their shoulders brushed. Nothing else.

She was feeling relieved, now that she was truly thinking. Seeing that if they had continued, they'd be naked... All over each other no doubt. And when she woke up the next morning, would she freak out? Would she finally realize exactly what she'd done? There was definitely a part of her that was glad that they stopped.
But a greater part of her wanted to get out. If Silas became completely sober and realized who she was, she was screwed. And though she felt drawn to him, and not just cause they'd made out for the last hour or so, but... She just felt drawn to him. She knew she had to get out, else she end up back in jail.
And yet, he was making it very hard to leave. She smiles slightly at his words,"It's fine. And I won't be kicking you." The idea amused her though. Though her body was filled with shock when he leaned against her, even if it was very light and very little contact. Though she soon relaxes against him. Damn, he really was making it hard to leave.

He was taking it nice and slow, he still wasn't sure if he was making the right moves with Rylee. He didn't want to be just some random guy that denied to take her to bed. He wanted to be more than that. He just wasn't sure what exactly he wanted to be to her. He was still trying to figure that out.
He felt her tense up with his contact and wondered if it was too much. But she relaxed which indicated it wasn't. He decided to test it a little further, leaning his head closer to hers against the headboard. It wasn't close enough that they were touching but still close enough that his breath moved a stand of hair that had become loose from her clip.
"You sure about that?" He leaned a little closer, and put his hand by her chin. He directed it to turn so she could see him and the teasing glint in his eyes. "Sometimes I deserve it. Sometimes I get these urges to kiss..." He glanced down at her lips,"Beautiful people in my life, maybe even my bed...maybe..."

Nice and slow... Rylee was okay with that. She wasn't a fan of change, especially not fast change. And all of this was change. It was different and she would admit it to herself that it was slightly freaking her out. She'd never been in a house, at least not like this. She'd always entered one to steal food. Food for herself and food for Maverick, but that was it.
When Silas moved closer, it made Rylee shiver slightly, especially when she felt his breath across her hair. She still doesn't do anything though, simply staying relaxed against him. Was he becoming sober? Was he about to realize who she was? Would he be disgusted? Angry? Shocked? Hopefully shocked, it would give her more time to get away.
"Yeah. I'm sure." And then he was leaning closer and his hand was on her chin. Her head moves with his hand, allowing their eyes to meet and at the look in his eyes... Rylee's heart hitches slightly. What was happening? She was feeling so confused.
She had no words. Though she shivered as she watched his eyes move to her lips. Would she complain or push him away if he kissed her again? No. Would she kiss back? Probably.

He didn't know what he was doing. He was just going with the flow, acting based off of attraction and interest rather than his mind. He wasn't sure what his mind wanted but he was for sure where his attraction to Rylee laid. He studied her lips fora moment or two, unsure of what hisnext move was. Should he kiss her? Did she want him to kiss her? It was hard to tell. He did feel a slight shiver when he studied her against his shoulder. Perhaps that could be used as a guide? His gaze moved from her lips to her eyes, studying them with a small smile. His freehand went to brush some of her hair away from her face. "You have really pretty eyes," He whispered, unsure of what to do next. It had been a while since he had been in the prescience of a woman outside of work, much less flirted with one or ended up having one in his bed. Especially not one like Rylee.

Rylee was confused. She had no idea what was happening or how she was feeling. What if they did go further? What if it just happened? What would Rylee do? She knew she most likely would not get pregnant. But what about tomorrow morning? Or she supposed later morning, since it was already technically tomorrow.
She knew he was looking at her lips, but she didn't know what to do? Would he kiss her? Did she want it? Did he want it? Was it only the alchol that controlled him? Or was he sober yet? Probably not sober since he still hadn't recognized her. Or, perhaps because she'd cleaned up so nicely, he didn't recgonize her. There was no telling. "Thank you." She whispers back. She'd always felt awkward about her eyes. They were such an odd color, even her brother's didn't have the grey eyes. They had blue. But for some reason, Rylee had grey eyes. She was pretty sure she got them from an ancestor.

He liked her gray eyes, they had a sparkle to them. Like some type of hidden meaning. They reminded him of cloudy water which reminded me of rain and thunderstorms. It was quite a common thing here but he sort of enjoyed the rain. It brought comfort and the memories of sitting with his moms and sipping on tea. He didn't know if he should kiss her or not. He wanted to be close with Rylee, to be in a relationship with her but he wasn't quite where she stood with that. He was told he always moved too fast, and that he definitely didn't want to do. He did want to kiss her and take her on a date. Get to know her deeper beyond his slightly drunken state. "Maybe we should get some rest, I have work tomorrow," He leaned to the side and placed a kiss on her cheek. That was the safest option, especially with that statement. A goodnight kiss seemed more appropriate than a "I just want to" kiss. His hand slipped to gently undo her hair from its pinned up state. He didn't want her to wake up with tangled hair. Once it was free, he brushed his fingers through it softly. It was soft and has a nice texture to it. His fingers found a few tangles and he softly undid them. "I can take the couch..." He suggested, not wanting her to feel awkward with sleeping in his bed or worse, sleeping in his bed with him in it. He wasn't sure exactly where they stood. Perhaps it was just too soon to tell.
