Anya The woman walked quietly down to the little river, and, admittedly, she had a goofy grin plastered on her face as she set the little bag down. She hadn't known Frigus for long or, she had, but she was still just getting to know him again, and for whatever reason, she'd gotten herself a little bit attached to the man. She should be angry... hate him for what he'd done to her, but she just couldn't. She just wanted to be there with him, and as stupid as it sounded, she wanted to keep him safe. Realistically, he'd be doing most of the protecting but she wanted to make Frigus happy, make him at least feel comfortable when he was with her. It was strange, really, and she hadn't felt like that before, not since she was young. Not since the last time she'd seen him. The man was a bit strange, goofy even, but she found she rather liked that about him. He made her heart leap with a simple look, and she found couldn't look him in the eyes without at least a small blush covering her cheeks... which, to her at least, was a bit frustrating... no doubt he'd end up teasing her about that later on. . The woman quickly got unchanged before folding her dress up on a rock nearby... when she got out, she wanted at least one thing to be dry for her to put on. Plus, she wanted to wash off a bit in the cool water. She waded through the water, the new clothes folded over her arm until she was about waist-deep before dunking the clothes under and giving them a bit of a scrub, attempting to get as much of the 'human smell' off all the clothes, as Frigus had instructed. She had taken the make shift band aid off before getting in the water, which had taken a bit if the smile off her face. It'd certainly scabbed over, but it still hurt awfully. It'd definitely scar... and that was something that she'd surely have to cover up. She wondered what'd happen if anyone found out on the other side of the border... what'd happen to her in that case. Over here, They'd both just be hanged, but what about in the wolven empire? Would the same thing happen? Or would it be worse? She didn't have a clue. But she could ask Frigus about that later. . Frigus The tall man stood upon the stone as he looked out at the deeper areas of the river, huffing as he stripped himself of his clothes while he could wash his clothes as well before hed fish to let them dry. Scrubbing them in the water before setting them aside on the stone, lying flat and neat in the sun to dry. shortly after the man shifted into his wolven form, white fur swaying in the breeze as he wadded in to his stomach, which hadnt took long. the current was strong, but he felt he could have a good hold on the stones below while he waited, silently, listening to the stream as he felt the cool waters rush through his fur, sleeking it to his muscular frame. . downstream he could see some fish splashing, deciding to stay put downstream, hoping theyd swim by with the current and soon enough they had. 4 large salmon were slowly mosying by as he lunged, striking one with precision and tossing it to shore as far as he could, hoping to stay still enough to allow the other fish to gather oncemore. They seemed to move across to the other bank, but he wasnt sure if hed be able to safely navigate to that side without risking being swept away or scaring the fish off. He huffed in light impatience, thinking of a way to luer them closer without mutilating the other catch. he figured hed eed to step out a moment and secure his catch before itd be stolen or flop back in. wading back up to shore he crunched down a little harder on the fish to get it to stop flopping around and tucked it between the boulder and some stones. Anya Where the woman was standing in the river, the current was surprisingly slow... which was a bit strange, considering she was slap bang in the middle of the river. It was good though, because it meant that she wasn't going to be swept away by the tide and go through the embarrassment of having to yell to Frigus to come and get her. Or someone else might get to her first, in which case she'd be in a hell of a lot of trouble. . After she'd given the clothes a bit of a wash, she waded back towards her old dress to give that a scrub too, but not before laying the other clothes out to dry too. Hopefully, the dress Frigus had picked up would be dry enough for her to try on by then. Her old dress, though, could probably be cut up and used for something. Maybe she could make a nice shirt or something out of it. Not that she'd be using it in the near future, though. Once she'd cleaned the dress, she waded back through the water to lay it out. Frigus was probably catching breakfast, and she wasn't sure how long that'd take... so she ended up going back into the stream and dunked herself under the water, holding her breath for a moment or so before reappearing, her hair completely soaked... oh well, if she was planning on cutting it, then she might as well give it a bit of a wash too.

Frigus The large beast trotted back down to the river bank, wading into the cool waters once more in hopes he could snag another. For he'd need at least one more to be able to feed them both well enough for the day. His paw's massive claws gripped the stones benieth him, the current seeming to pick up a bit more of a pace, but he felt he could handle it fine. His focus was narrowed in on a batch of fish up stream, but he would never get to them if he stayed in place. These were too far downstream for them to approach him, so hed have to make his move, and carefully. . He moved with the water up to his shoulders, his claws kicking up the stones as he tried to hold grip. It wasnt as secure as he had hoped but it was enough to manage. He soon got close enough to make his move, luckily hadnt spooked them yet. He was only a foot away, just in the right distance to strike. One step more and he dove, catching it in his teeth but before he could lift his head back up, he was knocked off of his paws and rolled down the river. he had been so focused on the fish that he hadnt noticed the large log that had been rolling down stream. As he rolled the log just seemed to roll right over him, keeping him subdued most of the time, struggling to get his head above water for a breath. a broken nub on the log raking against his shoulder, breaking the skin rather deeply, but eventually he hit the bank, allowing the log to roll on. Through all of this he was still able to hang onto that fish as if his life depended on it.

Anya The woman tilted her head back into to water, kind of letting the river flow over her for a couple of moments before deciding that she'd had of the water... there was a bit of a commotion upstream anyway, and the tide along the outside had gotten a large bit choppier. If it was just going to get worse, well, she didn't want to be caught up in that. . Once back at shore, the girl rang her hair out before putting it in a type of bun to keep it off of her shoulders, then picked up the commoner dress with the flowers on the bottom... it was plain, but it didn't need to be extravagant at all. Really, it was perfect. It was dry enough to put on, so she slipped it on over her head and did the little button-up on the back. She slipped her shoes back on, then started wandering back up to the little makeshift camp, leaving the rest of her clothes on the rocks to dry. They'd dry up better over here, anyway, where the sun could get to them. She wondered if they'd end up cutting her hair that day, too. It wasn't exactly important, but the length was certainly an inconvenience. She perched on a little rock in camp, fiddling with her nails as she waited for Frigus to return. Hopefully, he wouldn't be long... she wasn't so convincing before, but she was quite honestly starving... which was a bit strange, because she'd been barely hungry when he asked.

Frigus his claws hooked into the side of the steeper end of the bank as he tried to heave himself up. the current was fast and rough back in this area and hed need to get most of his body out of the water before it could sweep him farther away. His shoulder stung as the water took some of his blood with it. this wasnt good. blood would attract other animals. scavengers. and he wasnt willing to guve up the catch he just almost drowned for. He was able to heave himself up over the edge and as he did he let out a huff of exhaustion. letting his limbs go out a moment to catch his breath. . soon he forced himself to stand and padded down stream, fish still locked in his jaw, although dreading for the other one to be missing. he turned the bend and around the tree he approached the spot he was at before, but something smelled off. raccoon. he crouched as he stalked towards the area to see a raccoon removing the securing stones from his fish. slowly he stalked forwards. the raccoons head perked up, sensing him but before he could run, frigus lunged, snagging it right by the neck as he crunched down, shaking it violently till it went limp. now theyd have plenty of food. he gathered the three catches and shifted back to his human form, his clothes were close enough to dry so he went ahead and put them on, grabbing the three items under his arm as he headed back to the half structure.

Anya The woman sat patiently for a little while as she waited for Frigus's return... he was taking a little longer than she'd expected, and she had to admit she was a little concerned about him. Surely fishing was a pretty simple task, and the man had been living out here pretty much his whole life. He'd be back and he'd be fine, or that's what she'd told herself. But, for the time being, she might as well make herself useful and go get some wood so he could make up a fire without having to do all that extra running around. He'd already done so much for her, things that she'd never be able to repay him for, but she could at least try and make his life just a little bit simpler. She'd gathered a small pile of firewood as she wandered around, hoping that it'd be enough for a small flame... he already had some logs piled up, but they'd burn for a while, and it was probably best not to waste them. She dumped the pile on the fire pit once she'd gotten back, then sat herself back down, watching the tree line and waiting patiently for the man to return. . A little while later, maybe five or so minutes, she did see his unmistakable figure walking up the little bank and towards her. Though, his bright blue eyes and kind features seemed a little bit dimmed due to the fact he was pretty much covered in blood from his shoulder downwards. She cocked her head a little as she stood up and squinted ever so slightly. She was a little surprised to see a raccoon in his arms and wrinkled her nose slightly at the sight. "You alright?" she asked quietly once he'd gotten a little bit closer, looking him over from a slight distance. "You didn't get hurt or anything, did you?" So, she did sound a little bit concerned in her questioning... and she supposed she was. Frigus was her main source of... well, everything. He brought her food and clothing, shelter and even warmth, so she was, admittedly, pretty worried that he'd end up getting himself hurt or something.

Frigus Raccoon thrown over his shoulder, fish hooked by the gills in one hand, he walked up through the treeline, his shoulder bleeding down his arm more than he thought it should, it stung but his adrenaline was still going, so he knew itd hurt later and for sure would scar up. But he didnt mind a scar, he just hoped it wouldnt become infected. that would become an issue. As he approached, his tired blue gaze locked with anyas, which brought a little more light to them from being in her presence as he offered a gentle smile, although a little weak due to being battered by a log and a rough current. . "You alright?" he hadnt wanted her to become concerned or worried about it, he knew hed heal eventually and as long as he took care of it he wouldnt get infected. He only nodded with a chuckle, "yeah, alls good. just got in a little bit of a scrap with a log" "You didn't get hurt or anything, did you? he shook his head as he placed the two fish and raccoon down, "no not really, just a little bit of a scratch." He was appreciative of her stick gathering and smiled as he glanced up at her, "thanks for getting some wood. sorry it took so long" He lit the fire with two stones and sat a slab of stone suspended with a few stucks above it so the fire could heat the bottom for cooking. He took the knife and began fleying the fish, cutting them down the middle and throwing the guts out before cutting away the meat from the skin and bone.

Anya Anya frowned ever so slightly when the man just walked back to the little firepit. "yeah, all good. just got in a little bit of a scrap with a log" The woman cocked her head slightly at this before wandering over to the pit and sitting down not too far away. "A scrap with a log," she repeated with a type of giggle before shaking her head. "Sounds about right," she added quietly before looking at the ground so that she wasn't face-to-face with the blood and bones of the fish. She knew she was practically meant to be diving at the raw foods any day now, but she still felt queezy at the thought of it all. "no not really, just a little bit of a scratch." She nodded at this before looking at his shoulder, biting the inside of her lip in thought. "Ah, so all that blood must have come from the raccoon," her voice was a bit sarcastic, though her expressions were still rather concerned for him. . "thanks for getting some wood. sorry it took so long" Anya shook her head ever so slightly before giving a charming smile. "No need to apologise," she chuckled before setting her gaze towards the ground again. Hell, she was struggling to look himself in the eyes while he was dealing with the fish. It wasn't likely she was going to handle this whole wolf transition thing. In truth the whole thing was terrifying. The full moon, all the changes, it was all just so... scary. But, she supposed, she was happy she had Frigus of all people to go through it with her. He'd already been so patient with her, and she knew she hadn't been the most amenable person when they started. He could have left her. He probably should have from the way she'd spoken to him, but he was still here. Still caught food for her and tried to make sure she was comfortable and safe. She wanted him to know how grateful she was for it all... she didn't know if she'd ever find a way to express her gratitude to the man. Edited at November 29, 2022 03:18 PM by Hell Bound

Frigus "Ah, so all that blood must have come from the raccoon," he paused a moment at her works and tilted his head. "well... no, not really. the raccoon hadnt bled too much. It just scraped a little deeper and i guess the cold water could have made it bleed a little more. either way though, im fine and it shouldnt be too bad off." he offered a half smile as he placed the fish meat on the heated stone, a loud sizzle began then slowed to a quiet bubbling. "I was too focused on getting the other fish and the current picked up so i was determined to get it quickly but with the rushing water around me, i didnt hear the log rolling downstream and it hit me and took me under for a few paces further down stream." . "No need to apologise," he smiled lightly as he flipped the two slabs of meat to the other side. as he flipped them he began gutting and preparing the other fish as well. His gaze flickered towards her lightly, "having any urges yet? if so, raw fish is probably the safest thing you could try. if you get the craving though, dont fight it. Itll only make it worse if its fought. your body will tell you when you need it. Itll show the start of your changes and your body uses the nutrience from raw meats to fuel the sudden changes in your body."
