Addilyn couldn't help but smile as Jason hid from the world in her hair. He hadn't been gone for long but she'd missed him terribly and with him back the world seemed right, well as right as it could seem with her mom ruining the atmosphere. She'd even stolen Jason's story from her! Granted, her mom never failed to make everything about her so it really shouldn't have been that big of a surprise. "I'm sorry about her, she's a...handful." Addilyn had plenty of other, more colorful phrases to describe her mother but now was not the time. She didn't want to ruin the sleepy, lovely atmosphere of the moment. At Jason's mention of his sweatshirts, she gave him a cheeky grin. "Well, I suppose you can have one back, but it probably smells more like me now than it does you." - I'm gonna let you right now that the next morning is a whole bit, Jason and Amara have quite a bit to talk about. Amara gets up at the ass crack of dawn so it's up to you whether you want to start or if I should. Either way, I don't care.

Even though Jason had a long night, he still rose with the sun the next morning. He changed into one of the sweatshirts Addi stole from him, and put back on his jhorts, before walking out into the kitchen, where he could make himself breakfast. - srry this is SO SHORT. but idk if amara wud be up before/after him? or where she would be. so feel free to move jason whereever in order to better benefit u (ex: hes cooking breakfast already if amara isn't already out (omelets) / amara has him sit down or whatever (mb make BOTH of them omelets) in order to talk - up 2 u)

I gotchu ;) _____ The sound of someone moving about within Addilyn's home immediately awoke Amara. Although she'd already been on the verge of wakefulness, the sounds of someone shuffling about never failed to wake her. It took her a moment to realize that it was most likely Jason but that didn't slow the quick pace of her rapid heartbeats. Tam's big head suddenly appeared in Amara's limited field of vision and she released a sigh of relief. Of course, she was okay, there was no one there to harm her, it was just years of war that had fucked her up and made her body so quick to react to even the slightest noise. She was fine. Releasing a relieved sigh, Amara gently pushed the pup out of her face and hopped out of the bed, excitement flooding her veins as she prepared to go out and face Jason and hopefully convince him to join the rebellion. Which sounded a lot easier than it would probably be. -- Amara left her assigned room with a thick photobook in one hand and a gigantic mug in the other. Her daughter owned mugs of course, but none were big enough for the amount of coffee Amara needed to survive the day. Upon spotting Jason cooking omelets, Amara released a cheery, "good morning Jason, I trust you slept well?" Although her daughter was still very much asleep in her room, Amara was just as loud as usual. She knew better than anyone that Addilyn could sleep through a literal bombing if given the chance. As she spoke, Amara flitted around the kitchen, turning on the coffee machine before letting Tam out. "Are you ready to see the hundreds of embarrassing photos I've taken of Addi over the years?" Amara proceeded to give Jason a smirk and gestured to the album she'd placed on the kitchen counter. Edited at October 4, 2021 07:21 PM by Sunflower

Whenever Jason spent the night at Addi's - which wasn't often, but occurred enough that there was a sense of routine for their mornings - it was normal that he would wake up first, and make breakfast. Addilyn's portion would be covered and go in the fridge if she didn't wake up right away, and could be reheated later. Since it wasn't just him and Addi today, though, Jason made an extra omelet, in case Ms. Tano wanted one. "Good morning, Ma'am. I did have a good sleep - thanks for asking. And I'd really enjoy looking through the album, unless... Do you think Addi would be mad?" He turned toward Ms. Tano, nose scrunched up, "I wouldn't want to make her mad. ... But if she's okay with it, then definitely yes." The omelets were finished, and Jason moved them from the pan to the plates he had brought out earlier, and gestured towards the extra one that he didn't put in the fridge for Addi, "Do you want one?"

As Jason spoke, Amara intently watched the coffee machine, the smell of good coffee filling the air. At Jason's worried tone, Amara simply waved her hand through the air and shook her head. "I doubt she'd be mad, maybe a little annoyed if anything but she can't be mad at you if I'm the one bothering you with it. Don't worry Jason I've done plenty worse in her life before and pissed her off plenty of times. She'll be fine, besides it's about time you know about her family. Speaking of," Amara paused mid-sentence to pour the now finished coffee into her mug, filling it to the brim. "How much has Addilyn told you about us? About her past? I'm curious to know if she's as secretive and ashamed of it as she once was." Amara raised an eyebrow at Jason, stirring creamer into her coffee before glancing at the omelet he'd made. It seemed decent enough and healthier than anything she'd eaten the entire time she'd been staying at her daughter's. "Well, I suppose one wouldn't hurt. Thank you, Jason, you're such a dear." Amara gave him a grin before setting her coffee down on the table and grabbing the omelet to put it on the dining table too.

Jason sat down with Ms Tano, shifting in his chair uncomfortably. As he looked off into the distance - just past her shoulder - his brow furrowed in thought. Slowly - as if making sure all of his words were in the right order - Jason explained, "I know a little. The... the very vague and very basic overview. She... I don't know how to explain, but Addi didn't seem ashamed of it, rather she was cautious - and rightfully so - to talk about what all had happened." Jason settled back into his chair, his posture relaxing as he shifted his gaze to make eye contact with Ms Tano, "I understand that Addilyn - and you, of course - have a very complicated and difficult past. When she mentioned it to me before, Addi had seemed so... nervous about mentioning it that I thought it was best not to press. She seemed relieved about that."

Amara nodded her head as Jason spoke, drinking her coffee thoughtfully. It had taken Addilyn years to get over the shame of what had happened in their country, and how they had done little to stop it. As time had passed it seemed that Addi had come to terms with it, but still feared speaking about it, and rightfully so, it was still a very much volatile subject, and revealing who Addilyn was to anyone could have disastrous consequences on the duo and their lives here. "Addilyn is scared to speak about what happened in Acindina, and I suppose a bit ashamed as well. I believe that part of her still blames herself for what happened there, she is not the only one who does that." Amara released a heavy sigh, and a new wave of weariness crept on her, her true age showing despite her youthful outward appearance. "I am happy she has told you some of her past, and that she trusts you enough to do so, she has not trusted anyone that much in quite some time." Amara smiled, giving Jason a soft look that had not yet shown itself to him. "That's beside the point though, I am here to embarrass my daughter with baby pictures, not to wail like a miserable old woman," Amara chuckled before opening the photo album to the first page. The pages were darkened slightly, and the album itself had a burnt smell to it. Some pictures had water damage and the overall photo album had been recklessly beaten up. The damage told its own story though, separate from the pictures within. "Oh this one is one of my favorites," Amara pointed out a baby picture of Addilyn, one of the few she'd taken before going back out to the war front. She was barely 7 months old, with a tuft of black hair on her head and a wide smile with a single baby tooth in the front. The object of her attention was a large man, with brown hair and a wide smile that mirrored her own. "That's Dearil, Addilyn's father, I am sure you've heard of him once or twice." Amara smiled sadly at the photo, the sarcasm in her words hiding the painful truth of the photo, it was the only one she had that featured both Addilyn and Dearil in it. ____ The amount of shit I had to go back to find for this post was ridiculous and I hate not being able to remember anything :/
