Scruff | Denizen | Mentions: anyone who is going to the berry bushes. Scruff hopped over to the den and placed the berries on the ground, he looked around and saw a few rabbits were not going to get some berries. "Anyone who is not getting some berries feel free to grab some over here." Scruff yelled trying to talk over the wind and rain. Splash hopped over next to Scruff and said thank you. Scruff smiled and grabbed two berries and wiggled his way into the burrow to eat and finally sleep. ---- Splash | yearling | Mentions: Scruff, open! Splash heard Scruff say something about berries and she hopped over, hungrily. Once she reached him and the pile of blueberries she sat next to him for warmth. "Thank you, Scruff." She said before Scruff hopped off with two berries and into the burrow. Splash smiled at the site of the berries, her stomach growled and she grabbed three berries and hopped over to a patch of grass. The grass was all soggy but Splash was still going to eat it with the berries to subdue her hunger. One berry after the other was disappearing into Splash's mouth, in between berries she ate some grass. The grass did not really taste good with the berries but you can't be too picky. Once finished Splash yawned and looked for a small bush to sleep under. A small one resided a few feet away, Splash hopped over and laid under it, closing her eyes she fell asleep to the sound of rain hitting the leaves of the bush.

Frost | Warchief | Mentions: Aspen, Bog, Hop, Scruff As the rabbits hopped along, Frost stopped on occasion to sit up on his haunches and glance around, ears perked and twitching. The unfamiliar environment could not be trusted. Around the corner could be a bobcat, a dire wolf, or worse - those haunting creatures with evil, naked faces... Best not to think of them. The patrol hadn't found even the faintest traces of a predator, so he would trust their judgment. Aspen had experience as a leader - it was she that he trusted to lead the warren after he was gone. Frost had to put his faith in her tracking skills. The Warchief watched approvingly as Bog circled the bushes, watching for threats. Good; it was excellent that the rabbits not get complacent. Frost lifted himself onto his hindpaws, using his long incisors to pluck a blueberry from its stem. The fruit was moist, both from the rain and its own internal juices. Its flavour was sweet, and he savoured the two he ate. Best to leave most of them to the rest of the warren - grass would serve him well for now. If he was lucky, a future patrol would find roots. Hunger sated, the old buck glanced behind him. The line they had taken - grass robbed of raindrops where the rabbits' pelts had brushed it - was clear, which worried him. Nothing he could do about it, though - just hope that the great spirits of past rabbits would protect their living kin. The shadows among the larch trees showed him that night was falling, and he hopped briskly along the trail before settling down in the den between Hop and Scruff and closing his hazel eyes.
Leaper | Warclaw | Mentions: Bog, Splash, Flurry, Oat Leaper, who had been busily sating his hunger on blueberries, noticed with alarm that the evening light was waning. The little Warclaw liked being away from the warren - but not at night. That was the optimal time for bobcats, after all. Seeing Bog circle the bush before eating had put Leaper at ease, though - so much so that the red-and-brown rabbit hadn't bothered to check his surroundings before eating. That was what patrollers were for, after all. As the rabbit made the soaked trek back to the warren, he felt a tickle stirring his nose. "Achoo!" What was that? It hadn't been a grass stem. Or had it? Hopefully it was. Leaper was beginning to recognise the familiar clearing. Unfortunately, though, it being clear of trees made it difficult for him to find a place to sleep. There was a bush, but Splash was already sleeping underneath it. With the direction the wind was coming from, though, maybe... Mentally thanking Oat and Flurry for their hard work, Leaper pressed his back against the pile of dirt the two does had excavated from the warren and shut his eyes. Another sneeze wracked his tiny black nose, and he put his snout miserably between his paws.

Bog / Patroller / Mentions: Flurry, Leaper
Bog ate once the others appeared done, stripping a few leaves from the bush as well. It took the edge from his hunger, at least.
The large buck snuck back to the warren, moving from shadow to shadow to provide less of a target to owls. His wiry coat was soaked through and cold stung his ears and nose.
The sound of sneezing caught his attention. In a wet, cold, hungry warren, sickness spread like a wild fire. He nearly went over to Leaper to share some warmth, but if he got sick, that would leave only Hop and Aspen to patrol.
The large buck began grooming mud from his legs and paws as he thought. The sight of Leaper's little face scrunched up under his mucky paws finally spurred Bog across the clearing.
Bog flopped down beside Leaper, forming a little hollow between him and the dirt mound that at least blocked out the wind.

Aspen looked around the clearing to look for any immediate threats....None they were safe for now. Aspen picked a few berries to eat. They tasted delicious they were sweet and very juicy, Aspen was just about to eat a third when a bout of coughing orver come her forcing Aspen to all four paws.

Leaper | Warclaw | Mentions: Bog, Open! Leaper's ears perked, feeling another rabbit settling next to him. Moon? he thought hopefully, before recognising the newcomer's rough fur and large stature. "Thank you, Bog," the chimera said, turning his face away from the patroller as another bout of coughing shook his throat, stinging it to rawness. The last thing Leaper wanted to do was get Bog sick. Hopefully this was just nothing, but he wanted to take precautions. Besides, it would be rude to cough on Bog. The young rabbit closed his eyes, beginning to settle down and greatly thankful for the warmth of Bog against him. This rain had to let up sometime, surely.

Bog / Patroller / Mentions : Leaper, Oat
Bog flicked his ear in reply and rested his head on his muddy paws, ears pinned against the rain. There was a faint hissing sound of slithering dirt and Oat's pink nose peeked out of the dirt pile, taking a greedy breath, before vanishing again.
Bog stared at the little hole incredulously. Sure, the rain wasn't great, but it was better than hiding under a blanket of mud and dirt. Did Oat hate the sight of the sky that much?
The buck closed his eyes, deciding to ignore the excavator.

Aspen reached for another berry after the bout of coughing ended. Most of the other rabbits had dispersed to Other places, thinking she hopped a few steps thinking maybe the others had carved out a bigger borrow? Maybe she could sleep dry tonight.... (The weather has been updated!) SCENE SETTING | Mentions: Aspen, Leaper, Bog, Frost, Splash As night crept forward, the rabbits slept, but the bacteria did not. Neither, however, did the rabbits' immune systems; Leaper, by some grace of fate, would feel far better after his rest, with barely a sniffle left in his nose. Aspen would feel better as well, though she definitely wouldn't feel completely recovered. Bog and Frost, however, found their systems beginning to show signs of malady. At some point, Splash would awake and catch a smell on the fierce winds blowing from the west. It was a pleasant, earthy smell.
Leaper | Warclaw | Mentions: Bog, Oat, Frost, Open! Leaper's black-tipped ears twitched at the sound of Oat's breath, and he recognised the doe's pink nose. That was smart of her, he thought, watching her retreat back into the pile of dirt. No doubt it would keep her warm. The buck fell into a pleasant dream, of finding an abandoned farm, feeling the sun's rays warming his fur. Before long, though, he awoke again, yawning. From the darkness around him, he figured with the sense of time possessed by all animals that it was about midnight. Leaper moved away, trying not to disturb Bog, and hopped over to the burrow. Funny, he felt a lot better now after he'd slept. Seeing Frost's familiar pale fur, he gently roused the older rabbit and whispered, "Warchief, it's midnight. I'll wake the others and come down."
Frost | Warchief | Mentions: Leaper, Hop, Scruff, Open! Frost woke up with what was originally a yawn but turned into a snort; he felt oddly stuffy. Maybe it was just something about sleeping in a new burrow? "Thank you, Leaper," the Warchief murmured once he had registered what the small buck said. Once Leaper had hopped away, Frost began gently nudging Hop and Scruff with his muzzle, trying to wake them. Worryingly, he found himself occasionally turning his head away to cough.

Hop / Patroller / Mentions : Frost, Leaper, Bog
Hop woke as soon as Leaper approached the burrow. He peeked out of the entrance, grateful that the worst of the rain seemed to be gone.
The smaller buck's ears flicked in Frost's direction at the first cough, dread pooling in his stomach. They couldn't afford sickness right now!
"Warchief?" Hop's voice warbled slightly. "Maybe you should stay in here the rest of the night." He was nervous to make any suggestion, but it was the best chance of Frost shrugging off the sickness.
He jumped slightly at the sound of a raspy cough from the dirt pile. Even without looking, he knew it was his littermate.
