Rue | Bait | Grim | Mentions: Aram, Conrí (ind), Ivy (directly)

Rue stretched in the habitual doggy stretches and gave a little grunt. She almost toppled onto her left side, but she regained her balance after wagging her tail furiously and straightening. Her head bobbed back and forth prepared to dodge a heavy blow and waiting for someone to make a mean comment.

She looked around for a friendly face or someone who wasn’t hostile. Aram was the only one in this gang who looked out for her and she was very very grateful to him. She knew that he was the only one she could depend on. Her left hind leg cramped a little reminding her of why she needed someone to rely on. She limped forward a few steps trying to ease the pain. Her paws scrabbled on the floor. She wasn't sure why it was so hard to walk on. Putting more weight on her front legs rather than her back legs tended to help her balance. Her chest was rather large and muscular for someone who didn't get a lot of nutrition. Her hind legs were very thin and weak.

It felt dangerous to try to avoid Conrí. She could see him giving out some orders to those who were closer to him. It felt even more dangerous to approach him. He expected her to be useful, and she had a feeling that asking could make him really angry depending on his mood. What if he wanted her to ask for directions. He didn't strike her as the type who wanted a lot of independent thinkers.

She decided that Ivy would be the safest canine to approach. Although Rue was at the bottom of the heap, even young canines would have a hard time snapping at her. "Can I help you Ivy?" Rue meekly kept her head down. While her tail wasn't tucked between her legs it wasn't held in a high dominant position. "How did you sleep?" From what Rue could tell, although Ivy was growing up fast, she hadn't quite gained the hateful toughness that the rest of the gang had. Rue didn't have much hope that it would last long.

Maeve | Scout | Grims | M: Others

The german shepherd silently lifted her head, from where she lay, the scout could peek around the corner of the wall she lay behind and see the front door. The cool wooden planks beneath her seemed to creek as she moved to stand. Some of the other Grims had been able to find cushions or other items to sleep on. Maeve had a simple spot on the floor, where she had pressed herself against the wall during the night. Or the day. Her sense of time was slightly off due to the prolonged hours of darkness they experienced every day.

Joints aching, particularly in her hips, caused her discomfort as Maeve stretched in a downward position, shaking out her multicolored coat, her fur making a quite rustling noise as she did so. While the building did offer a place to camp, the young dog still could imagine what a true home might look like. Of course, all she had was her imagination, Maeve hadn't been alive long enough, and neither had her parents, to see what life before all this darkness and destruction was like, so she didn't have much to go off of.

Still, she couldn’t complain. At least they had somewhere. She could only wonder how many loners without homes could have been picked off already. Maeve was glad to be with a group.

Her ears pricked at the sound of voices somewhere in the house and she shifted to sit down, tucking her tail around her paws, relieved for the moment. Recently the shepherd had begun to sense, and feel a slight shift in her health, noticing some growing signs of hip dysplasia, though she hadn't told anyone. Not even Dione. She had already had an uneasy feeling, growing more towards a slight fear of their leader. She didn't know how anyone would react to it, Maeve feared getting kicked from the group if someone got wind and twisted the story to make it seem as if she couldn't pull her weight.

Speaking of their leader, Mave picked up on the male's voice again, he was looking for her sister. The shepherd couldn't stop herself from shivering slightly, she didn't know how her sister managed to work side by side with their leader every day. Dione was tough, that was for sure, but if Maeve had been in the situation she would have cracked long ago. She could only wait for him to find her, hopefully, her sister would make an appearance shortly.

Ivy || Pup || Grim || M: Aram, Rue, Kyan (Ind)

Her ears pricked and her attention was diverted from hunting down her big brother as Rue, the friendly dog who walked funny, approached her. Ivy's head slid to the side as she listened to the other female's two sentences, and then she responded, "I'm looking for Kyan! He's being boring, and I can't find him... I slept good. I dreamed I caught us all a deer!"

Her chest fluffed up proudly, as though she had caught it in her waking reality. Of course, she wasn't quite sure what a deer was in the first place, and the creature in her dreams had been so blurry and unrecognizable that she had just dubbed it a deer. She lowered her head and whispered, "One day, I'm going to catch an elephant."

She didn't know what that was, either, only that it was big and supposedly scary. There was a section of town that she distinctly remembered from being a weanling, and there had been a statue of an elephant -- or, at least, that's what her mother had said. She'd called the place a zoogle or something. No matter. Ivy was going to catch that elephant.

Her bright eyes shifted from Rue to the malamute cross, Aram. The large male was walking over to the two with a tired expression plastered on his salt-and-pepper face. He released a short, gruff welcome to Ivy before turning to Rue. Then, he asked the female's same question: "How did you sleep last night, Rue?"

Shane - Member - Ghosts - Mentions: Arlo, Sonora,

"Hello Shane. Do you want to go on a patrol today?"
The voice of Arlo made an ear flick over to his direction, the black dog turned his square-ish head over to the leader and second of the Ghosts. Rising from his sitting position, he stood up and gave another shake, his tail wagging for a few moments.

"I would."

He responded simply, then turned his head around to look around at the gang's camp, his nose twitching at it picked up scents. The idea of a patrol excited him, even if it made a small ball of dread form in his stomach; he had had a bad experience with the monster when he was a pup, and that small part of him that feared and dreaded the beast still was present. He supposed that it was a good thing, he would never let down his guard, especially when out and about; the unwary didn't last too long now. But the thought of searching for food, patroling for enemies with others he was familiar with, made him excited. The restless jitters starting up, making him want to start moving.

Shane sat down for a moment, leaning inward and scratching an ear with his hind paw for a few long moments. Then righted himself and shook only his head, stood up again, then looked around for any more movement from the other dogs.
