Bear Creek,
I just checked and I don't think DT has gotten a proper update since 2023, and even then it only takes like four clicks to get back to 2020 on the news page. I'd say it's not as maintained as WP and HEE

i think hee and wp get about the same treatment. i'm not sure about dt. and from my knowledge, hee is older than wp ^^

Bear, HEE is pretty good, it's a bit difficult to get the hang of when you first start out. I'm not sure on the dragon one

Bear Creek,
Draconis Theory is very dead. The most I've seen is like four people on at a time. Horse Eden is more complicated in terms of gameplay, but I'm also not a horse person, so that could be it.

It flinched at Cal’s words, unsure of why it fighting in an underground arena was something to fuss over. It hadn’t died, it knew that. The only ones that died there were the ones that lost. And even then, dying wasn’t as common as some would’ve thought. The arena was just some quick cash… So why was Cal upset? Besides, if the underground arena was bad, then why weren’t the street fights?

--

The story was a nice change of pace though, even the voices that had only gotten louder and louder seemed to quiet as Cal spoke of the tale. And for a second, as TJ began his own tale, the voices were even quieter… And though it didn’t know what happened, or when, some phrase or word, it would later guess. For a moment, it could see TJ’s lips moving but hear no sound… And then, the voices simply exploded into chatter and it winced in surprise. Falling into staring at the wall opposite it fairly quickly afterwards.

--

It slipped into what looked almost like a more relaxed position, leaning against the back of the seat it was sitting on. It stared forward, eyes slightly glazing over as the voices simply raised in volume. Despite the relaxed position, its breathing fell heavily and it shook ever-so-slightly, trying to keep consciousness while also trying to stop the shaking and figure out why. It would worry it’s friends. It couldn’t do that.

--

Nabih continued to drink from the bottle, and even having been sober for years he could still tell- The vodka wasn’t contaminated with anything like poison. Which would’ve surprised him, had he actually been trying to figure that out. But no, the observation had been an absentminded one. One that only the back of his mind would remember. Not that it mattered.

--

He didn’t notice when the tears started or when they stopped, simply continuing to drink from the bottle. He had honestly thought that he’d changed… Shit. Everyone he used to hang out with had thought he changed. After all, he’d gone to rehab- A few too many times he’d almost died without anyone, not even those ‘friends’, caring.

--

And yet, here he was… Drinking vodka and hiding from his actual friends that did care. That he was helping to run away. He couldn’t just go back to old habits now… Not after all of this. This still didn’t cause him to stop drinking though.

--

That had always been a problem of his, not really being able to tell when enough was enough, not being able to really stop himself even after he did… He breathed in deeply in between swigs. Withdrawal and relapse was just about the same in difficulty… That was one thing rehab had taught him. And if he hadn’t known better, he’d be tempted to disagree. Relapse was almost definitely worse. Maybe not physically or even mentally… But emotionally. It’d always been worse for him though, the drinking and smoking and all.

--

He honestly regretted doing this, regretted it to the extreme, and yet… Even that wasn’t enough to make him put the bottle down. Not until it was empty, at least. And that had him almost groaning with a painful, hurtful anger. He didn’t register when the bottle hit the floor, cutting up his palm a bit. Only after the pain registered did he realize it and wince, a cool wetness at his eyes that he blinked back to the best of his abilities.

--

He couldn’t go back to the group like this… Smelling of alcohol. They’d figure out and he’d have to tell them… And he didn’t want to do that. They thought of him as stable, the most emotionally stable out of them(except for maybe TJ), and he couldn’t ruin that for them… So he sat against the locked door, pulling his knees in, resting his head against them, and tried not to look at the broken glass.

Leroy Hall/Ethan Brimstone/Axel Founte

16/B-/O/A/Male/Trans male/Water/Aura Sensing/Quicker Healing/Both/Pansexual/Gay/Asexual Panromantic

“Aw hey, come ooooon! My story was totally helpful! Lets you know I like dogs more than cats! And hey! Don’t get me wrong, still love those little hairballs of evilness that radiate Leroy energy, but dogs are where it’s at.” Leroy glared at Calvin. What the hell was 'Leroy energy?' “Dogs, man. You gotta love ‘em.”

Axel hid a smirk in his sleeve and quickly got himself together and turned back to the group, becoming attentive when Cal translated Ethan's words.

“He says he is good at being quiet, pickpocketing, shoplifting, and uhh… lock picking? Oh, and lying to the police. Did I get that right? Also, that’s so weird that both lock picking and- Shit, I am getting off-topic. Right, focus. I’ll gladly beat him up for you if you want.”

Axel raised a confused eyebrow. Why exactly was Cal beating someone up?

Do you want me to say that? The others didn’t say their reasoning. I didn’t either. You don’t have to if you don’t want to. The whole thing with Val though…

Ethan shrugged. "They probably want an explanation for everything, I don't think I give off criminal energy very much." He smiled slightly. "And they already know Val was abusive, I don't mind. There are a few things I'll keep quiet but I don't mind this."

“Hey uhh…, Has anyone seen Nabih? I haven’t seen him since I got back… Hey erm… Leroy? You’re on better terms with Nabih than me, right? Like, as in, you are pretty close with him, right? I mean, Evie you’re close to him too, right? I don’t know really. Well, I am not sure who is the closest with him or who he likes the most, but one of you two should probably go get him at this point… Do you mind going and finding him? Just so we know he is alright? Nabih is smart but…, he forgot to use the buddy system.”

"Should be Leroy. He's already wandered about a bit. Probably knows the car better than us at least."

Leroy huffed, standing and crossing his arms. "Don't think he forgot, he's probably avoiding people but, yeah, whatever, I'll go find him."

Ethan chewed on his lip. Nabih had taken the vodka... Suspicion rose in his chest but E pushed it back. He knew Nabih was a former addict, him and Val used to hang out a lot but... He had changed... Right?

Leroy looked around once more before and nodded slightly, heading away from the group and in the direction that Nabih had walked off in. After looking around for a bit Leroy realized Nabih couldn't be found around the train unless he had gone up to the front cars. That left the bathroom.

Sighing, Leroy shook his head and walked over to the door just in time to hear glass shatter.

'Holy shit.'

"Nabih? I know you're in here, what the hell was that?" Leroy called, approaching banging on the door, after looking around to make sure no one was watching, Leroy yanked the door so hard the lock bent. After another moment, he pulled again, causing the door to fly outward, barely missing his face. As he walked in glass crunched under his feet, he spotted part of the logo on a larger piece of glass. The vodka. "What the hell man?!" Leroy gasped, walking over and kneeling in front of Nabih.

"What on earth do you think you're doing, man?" He gasped, pulling Nabih's hand away from his face to look at him. He smelled of alcohol and his face was splotchy and red from crying. "Damn it, Nabih," Leroy muttered, his hand starting to shake slightly as he reached up and cupped Nabih's face. "You absolute fucking idiot! They need you, man. They need you to be stable, you're the only one other than stupid TJ, damn it. Why?" Leroy took a shaky breath, actually on the verge of a breakdown himself. Nabih was the one person he had relied on for help, the one and only person he completely and fully respected, even if he never admitted it. He looked up to Nabih more than anyone else, and now...

"I'm sorry, this is my fault. I shouldn't have picked up the vodka." Now he was about to cry. No, no, that's not what had to happen. He had to act strong. Like normal. He had to be steady, rough. This wasn't going to work otherwise, Leroy would just make it work. "Get up, Nabih." He said, trying to make his voice hard as he stood, grabbing the other males are and pulling him to his feet. "Get up, we're going to clean you up. I'm not letting you embarrass yourself in front of the others like this, it's gonna be fine. Beep breaths, we'll wash your face, and I'll clean up the glass mess and get you new clothes. You'll be fine. We'll be fine. You're still an idiot but the others don't need to know, come on."

Why? Why, why, why?

The one person he trusted to keep everyone steady, the only person he would ever come to for help.

Why did it have to be him?

"I'm sorry, Nabih."

Cal ‘Collie’ Thi Lê | 16 | AB- | Male | Visions | Both | Questioning | M: Everyone (Dir)

Cal tried to listen into Ethan’s tapping. Strong emphasis on ‘tried.’ Cal was slightly distracted by the movements of the train. He still heard the gist of what Ethan was saying, filling in the blanks when he didn’t hear a letter, a word, or two. The train was soothing though. It was unnerving and yet at the same time it was a nice quiet. Cal couldn’t remember the last time it had been night and things were quiet. A sleepover maybe? Cal melted slightly in his sleep at the thought of those sleepovers. He would kill- he would die- to go back to those moments. He knew it was impossible, but deep down, Cal had hoped for that.

Fucking focus!

“Alright well,” Cal sighed before leaning into Aries, “Ethan says the reason behind his super cool skills is his mysterious past!” Cal made ‘spooky hands’ as he liked to call them, wiggling his fingers ominously as he imitated a ghost’s sounds. Not that he’d ever heard a ghost. Wouldn’t that be cool to hear or see a ghost though? That would be awesome. “He mostly just learned it growing up and because of that Val dickhead. Speaking of that dickhead, have I said how much I hate him yet? ‘Cause I do. I hate ‘em. I really fucking do.” Cal paused for a moment. “No questions for Ethan by the way, so don’t question him or any stuff like that. If you want your question for him answered, you can ask ngón giữa của tôi.”

Leroy left there was a long, awkward silence. Which is great. He loved awkward situations. Cal was slightly relieved when Leroy walked to go find Nabih. Not that Cal was glad to see Leroy go, but he was glad Leroy was going to find him. Nabih was the most responsible of the bunch by far and had anything bad happened to Nabih, Cal would have lost it. Then again, Cal had already lost his sanity and fifty percent of his morals having to do with crime so what was the point? One thing Cal never understood was the phrase ‘losing it.’ What was ‘it?’ Was it just sanity? Will to live? If so, Cal had definitely already lost it so bad that it probably got lost in the lost and found. Cal started to think about stuff in that silence. When Cal did a lot of thinking, that thinking generally turned sour.

Something Cal soon realized was that he was probably the weakest link of the group. It wasn’t that he didn’t have good skills. He had other skills he hadn’t said- cooking, lying, seduction, memorizing, and mediocre karaoke- but those weren’t helpful. Every skill he had, someone else had too and was even better at it than him. Hell, even the few skills he had weren’t even helpful in the slightest! This idea of helpfulness seemed etched into him now. It drove him mad. He felt like the guys in those cushiony rooms with white jackets that hugged the patient close in a threatening yet comforting way. What were those called? Asylums. Cal was thrown in an asylum over the idea of helpfulness and skills and whether he was the weakest link in the group. Cal had forced himself to stop thinking of that idea. The thought of him being worthless and not helping the team wasn’t what pulled him from his thinking. It was the fact that if he had been thrown in an asylum, he’d lose his NYC hat and his leather jacket.

I need to stop thinking about this.

Chào, Aries?” Cal mumbled quietly enough only for his friend to hear. Cal bumped his elbow into the tall man a few times to try and get his attention. Cal was still leaning into him and gave a short huff. “You good, bud? You seemed a bit zoned out there. I ain’t a health watcha-ma-callit, but zoning out is a sign of panic. I think. Like I said I ain’t no health person. That’s more of Axel’s thing.” Cal paused for a minute. Cal quickly gave an excited gasp, clapping his hands together excitedly like a child. Before he knew it, his voice had grown louder. Loud enough for the rest of the group to hear if they tried. “Hey, ya wanna finish the friendship rules list with me? I know I kinda cut you off before you ever got to contribute. So far we only got…” Cal mumbled under his breath as he tried to remember. “No stupid dying, no ketchup, aaaaand that’s it. Pretty damn boring list if you ask me. Remember, I am keeping my rom coms. That might be rule number three, but I don’t want to waste a space on the rule board for that. If there even is a ‘rule board’ that is… I mean, do we get an infinite amount of rules? That just seems like a lot though cause than we could just go on with this for forever. But if we do have infinite rules, fuck winter. I am serious! Fuck it! I- What is even it’s point other than to just be a jerk of a season? If seasons were people, this would just be that one college kid who just hates everyone for no damn reason. My hands are already cold enough constantly, I don’t need more coldness thank you very much! You may think I am joking, but feel ‘em! My hands are goddamn ice blocks!!” Cal held up his thin slender hands to prove a point. “That would be my third rule if we had infinite rules.” Cal paused for a long time again as he finally stopped leaning on him and actually looked at him, a wide cheesy grin on his face. “Weeeeell? Let’s hear your addition to the rule list!”

Tyler 'TJ' Jacobson/16/O+/Male/Spotted Hyena/Mono/Bisexual/Mentions: General
==========================================
Every single one of them was insane. At least life wouldn't be boring, but he hoped it wouldn't be too chaotic. That would just be too much. Tyler rather liked having downtime. It gave him a chance to do his own thing. Like building an underground railroad but for animals. Or updating his totally-not-a-spy-network of people he knew in various animal rights organizations. The plot to take over PETA was going well, last time he'd checked. His plants weren't as high up as he'd like, but their advancements were on the table. Soon, he'd be able to reform the whole group so that they actually did what they claimed to. Hypocrits. It didn't matter right now, though. There were plots to be made, Nabihs to drag out of the ventilation, and moral support to give. Because Tyler's already attached, damn it. One day he'd get his revenge for that.
============================================
"Right. I have concluded my basic plotting. Add anything you think I may have forgotten, because I do not possess a supercomputer for a brain. When we arrive, the first thing we need to do is find where we're staying. Nabih probably has a place in mind already. Once we get settled, we're going to need to get money. Specifically through either pickpocketing rich-looking people or stealing it from criminals. After that, equipment. Weapons for everyone, bigger backpacks, more tools, the works. Then, documentation. Evie's made that much easier on us with what she knows already. When we've got that, transportation. Some kind of big car would be best. Probably a greyscale or brownscale transport van. Those are the basics of what we're going to need, but I've got more specifics." He takes a deep breath and resettles his position to be more comfortable.
============================================
"Mostly the equipment. I'm thinking knives for everyone at the very least, but a pistol or too wouldn't be averse. After weapons, there's of course the carrying shit. Backpacks, big and durable. Also with hidden pockets, because there's nothing wrong with secret spots. Long-range radios, handheld, for communication because Nabih has just proven the need for it. GPS, solar chargers, stuff like that. Better clothes, because I don't see any of you carrying raincoats or even good walking boots. Seriously, it's the middle of January, why did none of you bring lined coats? Whatever, I'll figure it out when we find someplace to buy all this stuff. Speaking of stuff, actually, keep all you have on you. At all times. Live out of your bags, because we might need to move at any time, and people are probably going to be desperate enough to steal our stuff where we're going. Sleep next to what you've got, repack when you're done using whatever, the whole thing. Better to be paranoid and never have anything happen than not and suffer for it."
============================================
He nudged Ethan's mostly-dried shirt under the tarp. "Shirt's dryish. Should be good enough for until we get somewhere safer." He'd need to roll up the tarp soon, they'd been on the train for a while already. They were probably closing in on Anamosa, so it would be best to get everything over with as quickly as possible. "But money is our first priority. Credit cards are, of course, the best and least suspicious for what we need. It's hard to pay above-board businesses for expensive stuff if you just drop piles of raw cash for everything. We'll need bank accounts too, but that can happen later. Got enough to do as it is." That was his piece said, so now he'd wait for feedback. And maybe he'd be surprised about their planning capabilities. Maybe they didn't bring better stuff because it wasn't availible? That would be more reasonable. Right, right, terrible home lives, probably wouldn't have been allowed to get anything like that. He really shouldn't be forgetting that literally everyone around him suffered from some kind of horrendous trauma.

Eva Yates

16/A/Female/Uncontrollable Strength/Both/Bisexual/Mention: Everyone (Dir)

"Mhm, you'd be surprised just how easy it is to get on criminal gamers' good sides," Eva stated aloud, arrogance lacing its way through her voice, a growing problem the girl had. "Forgery, embezzlement, hacking, drugs, ya name it and I probably know a 'WaifuStealer69' or two that can get ya it." The girl smirked at the memories that ran through her mind, silently acknowledging the fact that the few friends she had were either criminals that sucked at first-person shooters or traumatized teenagers. "Anywho, making ids for us is pretty unlikely seeing as we don't have the shit to do it in the first place. But, the shady fuck that taught me could probably whip some up in a day or two, it's like his business or some shit. Lives near the city too, so he could send 'em in a couple of days." Eva waved it off like it was nothing, hiding the shiver that racked through her from her memory of the man in question, the many hours of his ranting about how 'females' just didn't appreciate how much of a 'nice guy' he was plaguing her brain.

Unconsciously tapping her foot onto the carpeted floor, Eva bit the inside of her cheek, annoyance working its' way through her body at the memory of Mr. nice guy himself, aka 'ShadowThunderGod'. Looking around the car, her pale green eyes sought out the one person that didn't annoy her as much as the others could, making a mental note at their absence before Cal spoke.
Nabih is smart but…, he forgot to use the buddy system.” Catching her current train of thought, Eva clutched onto the ends of her jet black hair, twisting it around her hand as it pulled at her scalp. Worry wasn't exactly the emotion that swept through her, no, Nabih could handle himself--being one of the most mentally sane as far as she knew--this was something else, something familiar yet so foreign. The train car seemed to shrink, her body began to be hyperaware of the people around her as if she'd just begun to realize their presence for the first time. The pounding of her heart rattled inside of her mind, loudly and obsessively adding to the thoughts that swarmed her mind. "What's wrong with you?"
"Why the hell are you acting like this, huh?"
"Your FRIEND is gone somewhere and here you are, standing around like always."
"You haven't helped once this entire time and you've got the nerve to act like this!"
"Useless, utterly useless." Biting her bottom lip, Eva watched as Leroy went off to find the sane one, her eyes quickly following his movements before snapping back to the ones still scattered around the train car.

As the Tree Boy began to speak, something about plans which she really should be paying attention to, Eva shuffled off the slightest bit, dropping into a chair behind her.

It blinked when it felt something going into its side a few times. It looked over at Cal, the source of the elbowing, its glazed over eyes struggled into focus. His voice kept cutting out, the voices all screaming at it. “You good...? You...a bit...there. I ain’t…whatcha-...it, but zoning out is...panic. I think...I said I ain’t no health.... That’s more of Axel’s thing.

--

It blinked a bit more, trying to hear Cal over the voices, trying to keep focus as the man continued. “Hey, ya...the friendship rules...me? I know I...you off before you...contribute. So far...only got… No stupid dying, no ketchup, aaaaand.... Pretty...list if you ask me. Remember, I am...rom coms. That might be…three, but I don’t want to...rule board for that. --

It stared at him, trying to piece together what it hadn’t heard. It’s eyes kept slipping in and out of focus. “That...my third rule...infinite rules. Weeeeell?...your addition...list!

--

It stared at Cal, eyes continuing to go in circles. It’s breathing stayed erratic, some slow others fast, some shallow others deep, some heavy others light. It didn’t know why focusing right now seemed so difficult, but it’s mind kept stalling out; the voices were too loud for it to hear any thoughts of its own. None of the voices seemed to have any ideas either though… For whatever Cal was talking about. So after staring at Cal for a few good seconds, it simply shrugged, eyes glazing into a lack of focus at the same time to where it wasn’t even sure if the shrugging had actually been done or not.

--

What the hell man?!

--

Nabih tensed at the sound of Leroy’s voice, he choked back a sob. Leroy was by far the… The best to be found by, actually. It may even boost Leroy’s ego… If it did that then maybe… He hadn’t wanted to lose respect in order to get Leroy to be more comfortable and genuinely confident though-

--

What on earth do you think you're doing, man?” His bloodied hand was pulled away from his face and he looked up at Leroy, who was kneeling in front of him. Even in his state, his mind told him quietly to let Leroy rant first. “Damn it, Nabih! You absolute fucking idiot! They need you, man. They need you to be stable, you're the only one other than stupid TJ, damn it. Why?

--

He tried not to wince. He already knew that, thank you very much Leroy. He knew they needed him, he knew he was supposed to be one of the only stable ones. And yet, that wasn’t even the part that hurt the most. It was the They that got to him the most. It was the insult that got to him the most. It reminded him far too much of a group of people every time they found him in a… No, he was not going to bring up those memories now. He wasn’t going to think about those memories right now. He hadn’t since rehab, he wasn’t going to start now.

--

I'm sorry, this is my fault. I shouldn't have picked up the vodka. Get up, Nabih.” His arm was grabbed, he avoided flinching as he was pulled up harshly. They- Leroy didn’t like emotional situations like that… “Get up, we're going to clean you up. I'm not letting you embarrass yourself in front of the others like this, it's gonna be fine. Deep breaths, we'll wash your face, and I'll clean up the glass mess and get you new clothes. You'll be fine. We'll be fine. You're still an idiot but the others don't need to know, come on.

--

He forced himself to nod. Go along with what Leroy was saying, play it like how he used to play it with them… He just had to wash his face, had to pay attention to where he was looking. He felt sick, but he knew he wouldn’t actually be throwing up anytime soon. He’d always had too strong of a stomach for that- No matter what the reasoning was.

--

I'm sorry, Nabih.

--

He kept his eyes away from the glass on the floor as he walked to the sink, unsure of what to say… They hadn’t ever apologized, and he would have never expected Leroy to apologize… As he started washing his hands and face, he began speaking. Keeping his head down and looking down into the sink. “I… It’s… This isn’t your fault, Leroy. So there’s no need to apologize. You didn’t know. The only one that might’ve had a hunch is Ethan… Even then, I doubt he thought about it before someone mentioned me being gone… That is what happened, right? Someone noticed I still wasn’t back and so they sent you. It’s fine though, Leroy. I just need to compose myself again and then this can be put behind us…

--

His voice sounded terrible, he could tell. It was hoarse and scratchy, a sure sign that this wasn’t as fine as he tried to play it off as… But he still had to hope Leroy would leave it.

--

He could easily come up with some believable story for everyone… Right? He knew he definitely couldn’t tell Ethan about this, the mute would freak- Probably wouldn’t ever trust him again. He also couldn’t tell anyone else about the whole story and about this; same problem he’d have with Ethan if they knew. And Leroy..? He hoped the man wouldn’t ask about all of it but… Knowing Leroy, it seemed inevitable… He’d lose his respect, and maybe even whatever positive feeling Leroy actually harbored towards him. He sucked in a tight breath, which caused him to realize that he’d started crying again. He quickly splashed some water into face, keeping his eyes away from the floor. He couldn’t risk it, not right now.

Cal ‘Collie’ Thi Lê | 16 | AB- | Male | Visions | Both | Questioning | M: Everyone (Dir)

TJ was talking again. It was nice to hear TJ talk. It wasn’t that he had a pleasant voice or had important stuff to say. Well, TJ did have important stuff to say, it just wasn’t the main reason Cal listened. Cal listened because this was the most he had ever heard TJ talk ever. This entire time that they knew each other, he had never heard him TJ say so much. Had he known TJ had so much to say, Cal would have shut up a long time ago. Cal held a sort of admiration for TJ’s words. Not, per se, an admiration of a listener and a radio host. More like a friend and someone who is preparing a speech. Cal just had to listen. That didn’t mean Cal agreed with every word TJ said, but at least Cal was listening, right?

“I completely agree with ya, TJ,” Cal declared, nodding with a silent sigh. Cal locked eyes with TJ with a small. “Except for one thing. Pickpocketin’ rich folks don’t make me give a damn. Hell, it’d be better if they just handed over half their money to the masses. They’d still have plenty of that dough, and it’d put food on the table for plenty of others.” Cal paused for a brief moment looking like he was about to go on another rant. “That’s the only reason I agree with communism. And Robin Hood. And literally every other apocalyptic movie. Or hell even Now You See Me. God!” Cal’s lips curved into a wide grin as he looked away from TJ and kinda stared off into a different direction. “That was one helluva movie, I am tellin’ ya. So good. They steal from rich folks while doing magic. And they even explain some of the magic! Now, I ain’t one for magic, more of a science man myself. I love science, let me tell ya! So damn cool. All the types of science too! Except biology. What’s the damn point of it? We just talk about our own damn selves and plants. Love psychology though. I do! I really do! It’s so damn- Shit.” Cal bit his lip as he turned back to TJ with an awkward and forced chuckle. “Sorry I got off topic.

“As I was saying earlier though, totally fine with robbin’ the rich.” Cal chuckled to himself. “Even saying that sounds good. It’s got a nice rhythm to saying that too, doesn’t it? Robbin’ the rich. The only thing that doesn’t sound good is robbin’ the folks who don’t got a choice but to commit crimes to live.” Cal let out a quiet sigh. Even he was surprised at how fast his voice went from joyous to downright serious. “Hell, I will be the one to rob all the rich given the next opportunity, but robbing the people who this fucked up society labels the crooks? No way in this fresh shithole of a hell. I ain’t doing it and I wouldn’t recommend and of ya doing so either. Not the kinda thing you would want to get mixed in and not the kinda people you should hurt.”

After saying his piece, Cal smiled back to Aries to find him just breathing oddly? He was staring distantly, his eyes half lidded. Cal chewed his lip and glanced over to Axel. Cal had no idea what to do and part of him hoped Axel had an idea. Aries seemed like he wasn’t even there. Like a robot replaced him or something. When Cal looked back to Aries, Aries was just staring at Cal. Aries shrugged and that just cemented the idea that something was up with Aries. Of course, Cal didn’t want to bring attention to it. Not like he did with Leroy earlier… But what could he even do?

And just like that, Cal got a great idea.

Well not great. More like an ‘this is either the worst idea I ever had or the best idea I ever had’ kind of thing.

“Hey, Axel?~” Cal wore a devilish smirk as his brown eyes locked onto Axel’s. “Guess what time it is?” Cal waited less than a millisecond before giggling evilly. “Operation Smother-Aries!!” Cal latched onto Aries like a bloodsucking leach. Only difference was Cal was trying to be a positivity giving leach. Sadness sucking leach? Whatever it was. Cal released a maniacal laugh, sounding like some cheesy villain from earlier Marvel and D.C. comics. Cal rested his head on top of Aries’, forcing Aries to hunch slightly. If Aries wanted Cal to get off him, Cal would have complied, but for the moment, he eagerly embraced showing off his height. And the fact that he got to get hopefully hugged by both Aries and Axel. God, he loved hugs so much. You'd thought he was crazy for them. Maybe he was. Could you blame him though?

Leroy Hall/Ethan Brimstone/Axel Founte

16/B-/O/A/Male/Trans male/Water/Aura Sensing/Quicker Healing/Both/Pansexual/Gay/Asexual Panromantic

I… It’s… This isn’t your fault, Leroy.

Leroy was silent for a moment, watching as Nabih splashed more water on his face to get rid of the tears. His voice was hoarse and scratchy, and it was quite obvious that he wasn't going to be able to pull himself together.

Tears filled Leroy's eyes again, but he blinked them back. Crying wasn't going to make anything better. He knew that from experience. You could cry all you wanted, but the pain would just keep pressing on without any mercy. Sighing, the half-blind male moved closer and took Nabih's hand again, gently this time, to examine the cuts. Some were deeper than others, but it was nothing too bad.

"I can't lie to you, yes, that's what happened," Leroy admitted, grabbing a roll of toilet paper and drying Nabih's hand before wrapping it up, then gesturing for the other. He was aware of how those words might sting. "And I appreciate it, but I think you know as well as I do that nothing you can say will make me blame myself less. I know the same is true for you."

Once he had finished wrapping both of Nabih's hands he sighed and slipped off the jacket he was wearing, placing it over the other boy's shoulders. "Nabih..." Leroy hesitated. "I'm not going to ask why again, or how it came up in the first place, it's your business, and It'd be a bitchy move for me to just jump on your case. I don't doubt you have reasons. I'm not gonna beg you to stop either, I don't think that would solve anything, but I will ask you to do one thing. Just... talk to me if you need anything." Leroy rubbed the back of his neck, finally looking up to meet Nabih's eyes. "I know I'm like the least open and least kind person in this stupid world, but I'm not a stranger to pain, I know life can be absolutely shitty sometimes, and I want to protect everyone in the group. That includes you. So please, if you need anything or just need to rant or something come to me, alright? I know it sounds cheesy as hell, but I'm never too busy to help out."

Leroy took another deep breath and tried to calm his emotions. He really hated those things. "Alright, we should probably get out there. I'll find someone to clean up the glass or whatever, but we don't want anyone else walking in. Oh, and no offense, Nabih, but you seem to be a wreck, so maybe let me do the talking. I don't think you'll convince anyone with the way your voice sounds at the moment." After saying this, Leroy walked forward and paused in the doorway, making it perfectly clear that he wasn't leaving without Nabih by his side.

Axel watched Aries with worried eyes, he was staring off into the distance, and his breathing seemed a bit off.

“Hey, Axel?~” The smaller boy's eyes immediately flicked over to Cal when he spoke, and he couldn't help but smile slightly at the devilish grin on Cal's face. He knew that look. “Guess what time it is? Operation Smother-Aries!!”

The normally calm boy lit up at the suggestion, a bright gin spreading across his face as he watched Cal latch onto Aries without any hesitation. Eager to join in the comfort huddle, Axel jumped up and trotted over, ending up with his face buried in Aries's chest because of how small he was compared to both of the other boys. He giggled softly, something he hadn't done in quiet a while, and looked up at Cal and Aries with gleaming brown eyes, eyes that resembled a puppy when he got to go on a walk for the first time after being stuck inside all winter.

Axel simply loved human contact, plus he was kind of touch-starved, so any opportunity to cuddle or hug was quickly accepted.

"Shirt's dryish. Should be good enough for until we get somewhere safer. But money is our first priority. Credit cards are, of course, the best and least suspicious for what we need. It's hard to pay above-board businesses for expensive stuff if you just drop piles of raw cash for everything. We'll need bank accounts too, but that can happen later. Got enough to do as it is."

Ethan accepted his shirt and handed the tarp back to TJ, listening and nodding along with everything as he very carefully, and painfully, slipped the shirt back over his injured arm. He could probably snatch a few cards from someone as they walked. Besides, no one would suspect an injured, mute boy who could barely walk to be able to steal.

He watched with amusement as Cal engulfed Aries in a hug, followed quickly by Axel, who darted over, laughing as he practically tackled the other two... Not that they budged at the contact, much like Ethan, Axel was a twig, it probably felt like a bony pillow running into them. Still, it was good to see his sickly friend happy again. It had been a while.

Tyler checked the tarp to see how much blood had gotten on the plastic, and folded it up to stow until he could get it clean. It wasn't too much, so there was less to clean at least. Granted, it'd be easy even if a giant had been bled out on it, because plastic doesn't hold liquid very well. That was kind of why he'd gotten it in the first place. Good for a last-resort shelter, rain catcher, and murder mercy-kill wrap. Sometimes a guy just needs to quietly dispose of horrifically, irreparably injured people. Never mind that those incredibly painful situations tended to happen to people very involved in very illegal happenings. Shhh, we don't talk about the maulings... "Sure, not everyone coming to attack us is going to be a totally willing criminal, but they're still going to be trying to rob us. Besides, again, we should mostly be focusing on credit cards. It's faster, safer, and less suspicious. People loose credit cards all the time. Not so much thousands of dollars." Okay, his bag was all packed up. Tyler glanced out the window at the passing suburban housing, and could see what he presumed to be Anamosa in the distance. "We're just about to the city now, so pack up anything you've got out. When we get to that motel, I'll go through what you've all got and we can figure out exactly what each of you need. Then we start relieving the more fortunate of their terrible financial burdens to alleive ourselves of any material definciencies. Sound good?" His bones were starting to itch, and his blood was about to start vibrating out of his skin, it was so electrified. That kind of thing happened when he got too... excited about something, and hadn't really happend in a while. He'd missed it. Tyler bared his teeth in a rough fascimile of a human smile, but was far more reminiscent of a pyromaniac watching an oil-soaked bonfire burn.

Nabih allowed Leroy to take his hand to examine the cuts, keeping his gaze away from the glass still. He may not actually be drunk, but it was better safe than sorry.

--

I can't lie to you, yes, that's what happened.” He gave Leroy his other hand as he gestured for it, letting the other one fall to his side. “And I appreciate it, but I think you know as well as I do that nothing you can say will make me blame myself less. I know the same is true for you.

--

He bit his lip lightly, pulling his hand to his side when Leroy let go of it. He assumed that would be it- That, that would mark the end of this surprising sentiment coming from Leroy. And so he began to move, only for his eyes to snap up from where they were staring at the glass on the floor(When had that happened? Was there a feeling of longing there too? He hoped not, though he’d never mention it either way aloud), when Leroy draped his jacket over his shoulders; meeting the jacket’s owner’s eyes. He was about to speak, about to ask, when Leroy spoke first.

--

Nabih… I'm not going to ask why again, or how it came up in the first place, it's your business, and It'd be a bitchy move for me to just jump on your case. I don't doubt you have reasons. I'm not gonna beg you to stop either, I don't think that would solve anything, but I will ask you to do one thing. Just... talk to me if you need anything.” His eyes flashed with understanding for a split second, before fading to an exhausted sorrowful look instead. He knew he wouldn’t take him up on that offer, he was meant to be the stable one, after all. “I know I'm like the least open and least kind person in this stupid world, but I'm not a stranger to pain, I know life can be absolutely shitty sometimes, and I want to protect everyone in the group. That includes you. So please, if you need anything or just need to rant or something come to me, alright? I know it sounds cheesy as hell, but I'm never too busy to help out.

--

Despite him knowing he wouldn’t take him up on the offer, and knowing that Leroy probably knew that too- Nabih nodded an easy nod.

--

And the moment was over, Leroy seemed back to normal. God, Leroy definitely needed therapy. “Alright, we should probably get out there. I'll find someone to clean up the glass or whatever, but we don't want anyone else walking in. Oh, and no offense, Nabih, but you seem to be a wreck, so maybe let me do the talking. I don't think you'll convince anyone with the way your voice sounds at the moment.

--

And then Leroy was turning and going towards the doorway. Nabih moved to follow, though his eyes caught a piece of glass again, slowing him down as he had to pull his eyes away from it and instead look forward. Leroy was looking at him again, waiting for him in the doorway. Nabih just hoped he wouldn’t mention it, and he moved forwards, getting to Leroy’s side and beginning to walk down the hall towards where the others were. He finally spoke again to Leroy, “You’ve got to at least tell me the plan before we get there then, so that my face doesn’t give it away with surprise or something similar.

--

After having shrugged, it lost complete focus again, everything too loud to really focus on one single thing. It could hear the voices, hear the sounds around it, but if it tried to actually listen to what was being said or what was happening… Everything simply lost coherency and it couldn’t tell what was going on. So it didn’t try to find out.

--

And then it felt something- Someone- Wrap their arms around it, something else causing it to have to hunch due to how tall both it and the person were. It was tense, eyes refusing to focus on what was actually going on. Refusing to tell it who was the one who even wanted to touch, hold, a thing like it.

--

And then another person latched onto it and it only made it more confused, tensing more as it tried to figure out who in their right mind would willingly touch something like itself. The confusion did knock some focus back into it though- Just enough that it could tell the people were Cal and Axel- And just enough to make out what the voices were saying.

--

Disgusting.

--

It’s breaking Jacob’s trust too now?

--

Only thing it’s good for other than fighting.

--

It.

--

Thing.

--

Tool.

--

The words seem to repeat after that and it quickly found itself lost in the repetition. It’s eyes squeezing shut and it hunching over more as it tried to think of a way to quiet them down. It’s hand, the one that wasn’t trapped by the two latched onto it, lifted and began digging into it’s scalp; dragging across the skin before repeating, each time harder than the last.

--

It’s breathing simply became even more erratic, and it couldn’t tell if it were simply imagining the wetness on its cheeks or not, if the wetness at its nails was imagined or not… It responded to both of these by simply digging deeper with it’s long claw-like nails deeper, the voices only getting louder with each passing second. It let out a muffled groan of pain because of the volume and words of the voices at one point, though it couldn’t be sure. Either way, it simply dug deeper.
