Maybe since I think an elder is only subtracted from total pack dominance? I'd still make sure no wolf is at same dominance either way if pack happiness is your concern

Abaddon | 22 | Male | Devil's Army/Consort's Bodyguard

Mentions: Helene (ind.), Tavarious (dir.), and open

Being around Helene settles his murderous rampage while everyone else makes it start. She was his savior, but he's unsure if she knows that. Yes, they were getting judgy stares from the people in the halls. Some dare to whisper ill rumors of them both. Abaddon doesn't care about idle gossip directed at him, but Helene, it's different. They insult the woman mercilessly, even though most of the fault is on Tavarious's shoulders. Everyone is too fixated on Helene. Too focused on her tribal lineage and ignoring the good things she can do.

It's disgusting-the vast majority of Medo's people sicken him.

Speaking of the king, he could feel the man's eyes on him, and it was unsettling. He thins his lips, holding back a growl that would rumble in his throat. Abaddon doesn't like the man, but he also hates him. Tavarious doesn't hate him for whatever odd reason and considers him a friend. Yes, they were friends, but they were competitive. Everything they do with each other is a competition where the loser eats the dirt or gets buried under it. Both men reek of wanna-be alpha syndrome. When they're in the same room, the tension between them escalates. The pressure is uncomfortable and suffocating. His golden eyes met the crimson ones, and the light in both of them dims. Intensity within both eyes was there, and they weren't verbally stating it.

Looking at Tavarious made him want to both punch and shake the man's hand. Their relationship is complicated, although they're not together-together. Frienemies, yes, that's what they are.

"Watch over my wife, Abaddon." Tavarious mouthed at him-a smirk appearing on his face.

Abaddon's throat rumbles and ends in a split second when he hears Helene talking to him. "Thank you."

His focus moved to the woman beside him, and his unknowingly tensed body relaxed. Her words came from Heaven. This woman is an angel in disguise. "She's a beauty, a flower that rose from snow. Sadly," his face falls, "the snow flower is wilting. It was plucked and left undesired."

"A cruel fate for something so bea-graceful." Yes, Helene's graceful-elegant. Everything about her screams perfect. He clears his imaginary throat and shuts his brain up from saying something absurd. God, if he were to say it out loud like that, he would've made a full of himself. His cheeks turn to a pinkish hue. He doesn't want to let Helene see it. Abaddon is uncertain if she would ask about the change of facial color.

What bothered him was that Tavarious gave him the order like he was talking to a dog. A dog. That word alone made him realize something. It's getting worse now that he serves under Helene. Abaddon didn't mind it too much. It was the fact they were saying it to insult the woman who hadn't done anything wrong. Yet.

Secondhand insults. Lowlifes use this consistently, grasping onto it like it's the last thing to eat. His eyes turned to the people whispering around them, and his stare alone silenced them.

He'll remember their faces, and they will have their consequences later.

Would he bite them? Rip out their throats? Claw out their eyes? Well, it depends on what mood and opinion Abaddon feels towards the individual.

Never mind them: they'll get their rightful punishment later. Abaddon locked eyes with Helene and caught onto that guilt before it faded from her icy blue eyes. Guilt. He's all too familiar with that emotion, and it's a terrible feeling. He wanted to ask her what was wrong, but at the same time, he won't pry too much into her personal life. Not until she's ready to tell him, or if she would in the first place. Inhaling sharply-the man was getting ready to say something else to discuss a random topic. To sway his mind around from the guilty emotion she expressed.

Only for his eyes to widen in surprise: Helene was blushing.

The question that instant dug into his thoughts was, who or what is making the woman blush? Jealously washes over him in a tidal wave. The idea of another man gaining her attention made his mouth dry. No, for once in your life Abaddon use logic. What other man has she been seeing? No one, that's right. Fucked up as this may be, Helene has been reclusive for these past months. Not just the way people here treated her, but she's been keeping her distance away from everyone here. For a good reason too.

Theories ran wild in his mind, and one made him close to bursting out laughing.

She couldn't possibly be thinking about him, could she?

Not a chance.

It was humorous and saddening to Abaddon, with the poor man suffering through conflicting emotions clashing together. He sucks in his breath through his teeth.

A devious smirk appeared on his face, "What's wrong, your highness?" His voice was low with a hint of playfulness in his tone, "Has the Sun finally decided to raise its difficulty on your precious skin? Your skin has turned a curious shade of red. Should I be concerned?" Shoving his emotions down, replacing them with a more mischievous side.

"Abaddon," his smile completely wiped off his face. Uh-oh. Did his teasing insult her by mistake? "I don't think I've ever really thanked you for...everything." A sigh of relief left him. He wasn't in the red zone for now.

"I'm sure it's not easy nor fun to chase around a mad woman."

Abaddon's smile returns, and he was stifling laughter. "You? A mad woman? My," he shrugs his shoulders dramatically, "that's an understatement, your highness. I don't consider you mad, but full-on insane."

He kept listening, chuckling when she said shit. "You're using shit too lightly. It's more like a bunch of rocks falling from the sky that are on fire while a tsunami is crashing down. Oh, the tsunami is also on fire." Wavering his hand, his smirk growing wider than before. Yes, shit is small compared to the situation they're both in. This whole place is a dungeon with the people being the monsters and Tavarious being the final boss.

"I know I'm not a particularly compliant person, so..." There's a pause as she struggles to come up with the right words. "I guess what I’m trying to say is that I just want to show you in some way that I’m grateful to have you as my guard."

Abaddon grew quiet, processing what the consort said. He pulls apart her words to understand them a lot better. Is this her expressing her thanks towards him? It's kind of, um. Terrible. Damn, was saying nice things that hard for some people? Hmm. Maybe all that isolation caused Helene's mouth and brain to be the other's nuisance. A barrier between them that's been in construction for these past months.

The poor Snow Flower has been suffering not only mentally but speaking-wise.

Abaddon's thoughts changed to the weather, and oh boy, it's hotter than usual. Another tragedy for Helene. The poor woman hasn't adapted to the change of climate. She's melting at this point. He turns his eyes away from Helene, allowing her to bond with the horse she missed. The horse was the only reminder of her homeland, and he understands why she's attached to the animal. He crossed his arms, glaring at the stableboy, "Tack up my horse, will you?" His friendly tone is for Helene. Everyone else gets his attitude. The stableboy shuffles back inside the stables to get the man's horse. Just in time, as Helene started to speak to him again.

"I suppose we should get your horse ready, Abaddon. Unless you want to bunk with me on Balade-though I think it'd be cruel for both of you." Abaddon's golden orbs turn to her horse, and a smile forms on his face. The horse is only big enough for a woman and a small smile, but for a man and woman to ride is torture for the poor nag. Abaddon walks over and stands beside Balade. His hand gently caresses the horse's neck, "I have to agree. If both of us were to ride your horse, his poor back would break." He hands her pink parasol to take her horse's reins, "I'll be happy to lead both horses. I wouldn't mind. I can escort you around through town and find a way to sneak you outside the kingdom's walls."

The stablemaster walks out with his tacked horse. Abaddon takes his mare's reins and pulls the horses along behind him. "I'll take you to Leurbost," He gestures to the walls surrounding the kingdom. "It's a small town filled with hunters and bow-makers. It's not exactly like how your tribe does it, but it should make you feel a little bit of home." Damisona nudges him, and Abaddon lifts his hand holding his horse's reins. Petting her cheek softly before talking again, "I'll let you buy a couple of furs. Just don't get too much."

Helene Deire’Tenir

21 :: Feminine :: Consort :: Mentions: Abaddon [dir] Tavarious [ind]

...

"Your skin has turned a curious shade of red. Should I be concerned?"

The playful tone was repeated in Helene’s head as she refused to further allow any more color to her skin. She cleared her throat, thinking up an oblivious excuse. One that was repeated multiple times in her head so she wouldn’t break it up in a stutter.

Ahem, yes… The pesky sun is at it again,” Her pulse began to slow as she tricked herself into believing that she managed to convince Abaddon. She refused to look at the smug expression that told her otherwise.

"I don’t consider you mad, but full-on insane."

Helene dramatically rolled her eyes at Abaddon, trying to suppress a smile yet failing to do so.

“Don’t flatter me, Sir” Helene got increasingly comfortable beside Abaddon, which eased the tension in her fingers that fiddled with Balade’s mane.

When Abaddon described a chaotic scene that would be a better comparison to their situation, Helene stared at him with a nonchalant expression plastered on her face.

“My bad, a shit storm,” She corrected herself and amusingly tilted her head toward Abaddon as he played along with bullying Balade's stature.

Helene thought up an amusing title that she was preparing to say, but didn't pass her filtering system;

Abaddon, Hunter of Men, Breaker of Backs.

That didn't sound quite right.

Before Helene could allow herself to process the thought, she quickly brought her attention back to her stallion's weight limits. Balade could carry Helene comfortably, but even with Abaddon alone, he’d probably start struggling.

With the both of them?

Balade would haunt Helene for simply thinking of such torture. Though, the thought did bring a bit of amusement to Helene. As if the stallion sensed it, Balade let out an impatient stomp before flicking his ears back. The longer they’d stay still, the higher the chances were of Balade throwing a temper tantrum.

“Hush now, Damisona has come to the rescue,” Her eyes strayed from Balade’s deep chocolate ones as she looked toward the much bigger mare that was being brought to them.

Helene grabbed the parasol and held it firmly between her index and thumb, taking a section of Balade’s mane with the rest of her fingers. Without thinking, her body moved by itself, and Helene vaulted herself into the saddle. She nearly tripped over her own feet due to the instability of her heels but made her way onto Balade’s back with enough fluency. She swung her leg on either side instinctively, only to realize that she wouldn’t be able to straddle Balade like she usually did. The dress she was wearing uncomfortably flopped on either side, and Helene realized that she should’ve waited for the stablehand to bring a stool. From there, she would’ve been propped up into position.

Helene really wasn’t in the right state of mind. Perhaps it was the hangover headache, the heat, or the hidden excitement to ride Balade. Perhaps it was all of it. She contemplated just getting off and mounting the proper way.

Gah, fuck it. It’s just Abaddon and the stableboy here, anyway.

She closed the parasol, holding it as one would a crop as she planted her hands on the base of the saddle. She tucked her left leg underneath herself, only managing to due so thanks to propping herself up. She had done this before… but, that was when she exercised daily. She didn’t realize how fatigued she felt until she was settled in the preferred position that a lady should take. She glanced toward her arm, which was lacking a certain healthy amount of bulk. Ten hells. If father saw how slim I’ve become he’d make me run laps around the caravans-

...And this fucking dress.

Helene’s dress was being crumpled every which way, revealing far too much skin than it should’ve, but with a few quick tugs and pulls, she managed to get the dress to cover a proper amount of herself. She felt like she was almost a little violent for how delicate the fabric was, but she didn’t care if she ruined the dress. In fact, she almost hoped that it would rip, just so she could wear something else.

Balade stirred under her weight, prepared to walk forward. The only reason he didn’t was because Abaddon was holding onto the reins. Usually, whenever Helene vaulted on her stallion, he’d immediately take off. Something she accidentally taught him and never bothered to fix.

"I can escort you around through the town and find a way to sneak you out of the kingdom’s walls."

The words made Helene’s eyes widen in surprise. Tavarious hasn’t let her out of the walls. He has barely begun to let her roam outside of the castle.

Was Abaddon just trying to get her hopes up? He wouldn’t actually go behind Tavarious’s back- would he?

Doubts faded as Helene imagined seeing something new. The same excitement she got when her tribe moved started to bubble in her, and it was obvious. Her eyes lightened up at Abaddon’s gentility.

“R-really?” Her skin flushed with color, yet it wasn’t a red shade that came from embarrassment. She didn’t care that she stuttered, she was excited.

“What if we’re snitched on?” Her tone was a lot more formal, and she leaned forward, side-eyeing the stablehand who had quickly gone from a beet shade of red-likely due to Helene’s indecency on Balade- to a sickly pale as he looked between Abaddon and Helene. The wide look in his eyes made it obvious that he wanted to disappear at this moment. But, Helene’s point stretched beyond the stableboy. What if they were recognized by the townspeople, hell, by the guards? Her appearance in the town would eventually make its way to Tavarious. What would he do if she defied his rules? She hadn’t denied his authority yet, so she didn’t know the consequences.

He can’t kill you Hel.

But he can kill others.

Her eyes strayed to Abaddon, and she remembered the tense interactions between her guard and her husband. Tavarious addressed Abaddon as a friend, but the way Abaddon looked at him said otherwise. Would Tavarious execute Abaddon for taking her out? He’s executed people for less. Helene’s gut twisted uneasily, but it wasn’t out of fear. Her pulse quickened, yet she wasn’t frightened. She couldn’t feel frightened when Abaddon was around. But Tavarious can take that away, even if it’s not by killing him.

Abaddon is one of the finest warriors the Empire has. Tavarious wouldn’t kill him. He’d just take him away from me, and assign someone else to me. In a way, it’s a win-win situation. Abaddon won’t be considered my dog, and he would still be alive.

I won’t be the cause of someone's death.

Helene convinced herself and nodded to Abaddon, approving of his suggestion.

What are the chances of getting caught, anyway?

“I’ll take you to Leurborst”

Helene’s eyes followed Abaddon’s gesture, then kept them on the walls that he motioned to. The walls she wasn’t allowed to cross. The mere thought of crossing them made her enthusiastic. Whether Tavarious knew it or not, she’d be rebelling against his tyrannical mannerisms. A small win for all the losses that followed Helene. A way to get back at Tavarious.

A way to enjoy yourself, too.

"It’s a small town filled with hunters and bow-makers. It’s not exactly how your tribe does it, but it should make you feel a little bit of home,”

Gods, Abaddon was the only one who seemed to pay attention to her wants. Helene would gift something to him someday to make up for all of this.

As for Leurbost, she had heard a little about the town, and it was one of the towns that she was the most intrigued by. She heard that they sell the best meats, which she would be adamant on trying… but she also heard that it’s highly guarded.

Helene brushed the concerning thoughts as she looked back toward Abaddon, who seemed to have success in soaking in the little details that Helene spilled during the couple of months that she has been under his care.

“I’ll let you buy a couple of furs. Just don’t get too much.”

The thought of having a wardrobe with at least some furs would make her content enough. Though, Helene decided she’d humor Abaddon.

“I can’t make any promises,” She flashed him a pearly grin. It was a mischievous one that she often offered her siblings, one that she hadn't used since she arrived.

Don't go getting all nostalgic and depressed on me now. You're about to go sneak out in broad daylight. Right under your husband's nose. Oh, how Helene was going to laugh about this later. Tavarious would probably just think she was plotting his murder by the way she happily carried herself after experiencing life outside of the castle.

Straightening her back and collecting her posture, Helene was prepare to set out on this little adventure. She allowed Abaddon to lead Balade, who was growing more impatient by the minute. With one hand cocked upward to hold the parasol above her head, and one resting on her thigh, she waited for Abaddon to lead her out.

Finally, she was going to see the land, the people, the culture. She wouldn’t be plagued by distant stares from nobles. She’d be able to interact with people who wouldn’t even be able to process that she’s the emperor’s consort.

"Have you ever encountered my tribe, Abaddon?" Helene brought her attention back to when he talked about the vague similarities that Leurbost held with her tribe. She was openly curious as to what he'd say and hoped that if he did come across her tribe, it was for the right reasons, though she had an inkling of doubt that an encounter with Abaddon before she knew him would've been so innocent.

Neptune

19 || Female || Female Lover || Mentions: Vesper, Apherious { ind. }, NPC, Tavarious { ind. }

BAM!

Neptune threw open a door, and stood in the doorway looking into one of the rooms that laid silent among the halls. The maids who stood behind the woman's lean figure were silent, still as statues. Their fingers fiddles nervously underneath their palms, sweat trickling down their foreheads. They knew very well that Neptune and the gentleman didn't do well together. It wouldn't be a surprise if the two of them were to lunge at the other and choke one another till their last breath. That is what they feared, to be the witnesses of a brutal fight.. what would the emperor do to them if he heard they stood by and watched as his two beloved's fought? Oh. The panic was so clear in their eyes, Neptune was smiling brightly, it was as if she was feeding off of their fear and paranoia.

Examining the room in front of her, she could feel her stomach twisting and turning. What a.... beautiful room- . In her eyes, it was the opposite of beautiful. It made her sick. It had such a bright aura to it.. even while being dark, with gold here and there, regardless of if it were gold or not, it was so bright, radiating a smooth, calm, safe feeling. But Neptune wasn't feeling it, no. In other's eyes, maybe it was beautiful, maybe it wasn't. The woman despised everything this vile man owned, even when it came to his taste in jewelry. God, don't get her started on his choice of accessories. If the two of them were to ever get along, even for a moment, she'd take him shopping. He needed to get a whole new style, this one was just not working for him.

Glancing over to Vesper, she could see his little friend pulled up in a chair close to the man. And maids seemed to be lurking about. It was clear that Neptune was displeased with them around, why would he have so many? They were only useful for tasks, and nothing else. Not even nice company.. bland, cowardly creatures. They were like sheep, they follow, and obey their commands. But in the end, they are coward, weaklings that end up in slaughter. Ugh. Turning her attention back to Vesper, she looked closer, and could almost see the disgusting illness vibrating off of him. She silently gasped, pulling a hand to her chest. Was he, sick? Ho-Ho!

"Huh."

The woman's devilish grin grew more mischievous by the second, however her eyes spoke a whole new language. Hatred boiled in her eyes, if only looks could kill. For a moment, Neptune considered grabbing a pen, and plunging it into the side of Vesper's throat. But Tavarious wouldn't be happy with her.. he'd leave her. She didn't want that, no.

"Oh Vesper.. are you, sick?" Slowly, she walked over towards the ill man, keeping a side eye on his minion that seemed to be sitting in a chair in close radius to his 'master'. Could he just, not be here? Its much more entertaining to annoy Vesper without his little pet.

As she neared, the woman dragged her finger tips along the ruffled covers of the bed, pulling her fingers back, she showed slight disgust. She should have thought about what the hell was done to these covers, and how the illness was soaked into these covers before touching it. Ew.

Noticing a book placed in the man's hands, Neptune had a devious plot in mind.

Slightlty speeding her up her graceful walk, she reached out- no, she quickly grabbed the book that lied in his hands, ripping it from his grip. Taking a few steps back, she licked her lips as her eyes scanned the words on the pages, beginning to flip through page, after page, eventually losing the original page. Humming a random, repetitive tune, her hips slowly rocking left and right.

"I don't think you are sick." She bluntly spoke.

Tossing the book aimlessly onto the bed, she slithered her way back over towards Vesper, placing her hands on the back of the chair, rubbing them against the rim of the top, leaning her head down just a foot away, whispering into his ear in a smooth, soft voice.

"You just want Tavarious to fawn over you, stroke your hair back, whisper in your ear that its going to be alright. That you are going to feel better."

Didn't she want to rip into his throat, end his horrid life. He was in her way of getting closer to Tavarious. She would have been so much closer.. if it wasn't for him. The urge to wrap her fingers around his throat was so strong, to the point where her fingers were twitching, digging into the wood beneath her fingernails. Why couldn't he just, not exist? Wiped for existence entirely? He was in the way.

"Lets all just hope and pray..."

Leaning in closer, her grin grew wider, and she quietly spoke, more silent then any other whisper, laced with venom.

"that you don't."

Vesper | 20 | Male | Male Lover

Mentions: Cherry , Neptune , Skya

It was as if the universe hated him today. He could feel a growing headache, and it was soon put to rest. It would only mean that Cherry was doing something idiotic again. And he let out a tired sigh, that man would be the death of him. He heard his doors open - not acknowledging the voices of a maid arguing with Cherry. He had to suppress a laugh or giggle that would give him away as listening to the man. He gave more attention to the book - it was getting juicer by the second. Apparently - as he suspected the maid knew about what was happening in the mansion, but she chose to stay silent for her own safety. Clever girl, Vesper thought to himself, if you had spoken on your knowledge beforehand then you'd surely be dead. He had to give a unimpressed stare from his violet eyes at his personal guard - trying to swindle him? The one who could rob you blind in a game of cards? Poison you in your sleep? Snipe you with an arrow with one eye closed? Laughable. He could feel his eye twitch a bit.

He could see Cherry pull up a chair in his peripheral vision. The man was silently sitting there for a moment and it looked like he had nearly dozed off. Vesper gave a small eyebrow raise at the sight. Well, it was a going to be a slow day after all. He didn't have that much planned - nor should anything be planned for him today. He most likely would end up just practicing his archery and probably go out to visit his hometown and get some remedies for his allergies and probably head to a tavern or such and taste some delicious home crafted beer and ale.

"You know, I should eat that food you ordered . Make sure to take care of your needs before coming to take care of mine. Understood." He said calmly and in a neutral tone as he flipped the page in his book.

He heard his door open and one of his servants was coming in and she seemed to be bringing his breakfast. Finally, he thought as he turned his attention to his servant. Before he could even begin to eat - she mentioned his schedule was busy. He raised a brow at that simple sentence. What in the hell did she mean he was busy? There was nothing for him to do except be a damned trophy for their "Emperor" . He could feel his skin bristle at the thought, he used to be treasured by Tavarious - they used to dance until the sun went down, watch the lanterns together, and go on amazing dates. But everything was ruined when he became Emperor.

"Busy? What could possibly keep me busy?" Vesper said a bit annoyed at the thought, "What could His Highness possibly have to given me a schedule to do?" His annoyance at Tavarious clear in his voice as he drawled the title of the Emperor with annoyance.

He was nearly annoyed enough to look up from his book. But he had enough restraint to not do so. However, his train of thought was interrupted by a loud bam from a little ways off. If he could express his annoyance- it was demonstrated by a brief hiss as he clutched his head a bit , loud sounds as of now gave him a headache and annoyed him to his core. However, if he was going to have a headache before - he definitely was going to have a headache when he got done dealing with Tavarious's other woman.

He ignored her as she made her way through his room. As long as she was civil and didn't annoy him. He continued reading his book and he simply raised his head when she asked if he was sick.

"Allergies." He simply replied, not willing to give her a sarcastic reply.

He could simply roll his eyes at the sight of her looking at disgust at his fresh sheets. Did she seriously think that he'd sleep on dirty sheets when ill? Deplorable. He didn't even think that low of her. He'd rather not deal with her as a matter of fact. He ignored anything she said next, and focused on finishing his book. He had been reading this one for a while - and was a couple pages from the ending. It seemed the killer of this novel was . . . wait, who was it. He was disappointed to see that the book had been stolen from his hands and into the vile hands of Neptune. He could feel a look of a more passive annoyance etch on his face. Oh how he wanted to yell and shout in her face - yet, he wouldn't give her said satisfaction.

He raised a brow and yawned at her attempt to rile him up. It wasn't that impressive what she was going for. He had even began looking at his nails in pure spite. He didn't answer to her - nor did he have to entertain her, but what he couldn't stand was her being in his face or the way she had treated his poor book. A small scowl appeared when her powdered face came into view - talk about personal space much? And he was into men thank you very much. He gave a small dainty chuckle at her antics.

"Firstly, you are too close to my face." He spoke calmly before using his full plam and gently pushing her face back from his. He then stood and wiped off his hands. And he moved around his room silently before picking up his book.

A maid had entered his room, not knowing the situation, "Lord Vesper, some more tea for you. Three scoops of honey, a thumb of ginger and peach and green tea mixed with a squeeze of lemon . Just the way you like sir." And she brightly offered the young man the cup of tea and he graciously accepted it, "did you need anything else sir? The room has already been cleaned, and your scented towels and linens should be back soon."

"No thank you, Zamora. I will call if I need anything else." Vesper replied and the maid gave him a bright smile before giving him a curtesy and gracefully exiting the room.

Vesper took a sip of his tea before looking at Neptune, "Secondly, there is no need for me to worry about my standing with His Majesty. It is also quite obvious which one of us is more favored by His Majesty and who holds his heart dearly." Every maid, noble, and person in the castle knew it was true, the way Tavarious and Vesper acted towards each other - how he adored Vesper even if he didn't show it through his words but by deed.

"And thirdly," he said with his own venom seeping through, "don't come asking for trouble from which you can not save yourself from. You act as if you know me - you don't know me nor my past. And you have a lot of nerve coming into my room unannounced - and picking a fight. Apherious, will see you out." he said with a finality that dared her to even argue with him on this.

"Apherious, once you're done escorting Lady Neptune out of my room , please find me at the stables. I was going to head to my mother's hometown of Leurbost and possibly Taewe if I can. Skya you will be accompanying me as well."

He then made his way to exit the room, but not before grabbing his satchel. A gift from his mother - and he soon exited his room and made his way down the balls of the castle. His head proud and posture elegant and graceful as he walked. He soon found his way to the stables, and he found his beautiful Mawari mare named, Ophelia. The mare softly whinnied at the sight of him and he gave a soft chuckle as she nuzzled him and he gave her a sugar cube.

"Here girl. You feeling like a ride?" He whispered to her and he with quick efficacy of a true horse person, groomed and tacked up his mare for riding.

He then noticed the Consort and her Personal Guard standing together and he gave a small smile. How much had they seen of him.

"Hello Your Grace and Sir Abaddon! I was just about to ride out to Leurbost - I need to get some medicine for my allergies and this expensive palace medicine is doing nothing for it - but making it worse it seems. So going home for a true remedy makes better sense - and I need to get a new bow as well, I would craft one myself but there is no wood to my taste for a bow." He said nervously.

"I'm sorry. I'm rambling aren't I? I was also gonna head to Taewe, they have the best drinks and it's entertaining to watch the bar fights- they're very dramatic and it's something you just have to experience. Where were you both headed?" Vesper said with excitement in his voice.

Finley Neil Chernobog-Blake | 24 | M | Noble | Mentions; Lilith(Ind), Nadia(Ind), NPCs, Open.

───※ ·❆· ※───

Finley entered the manor he now shared with Lilith, eyes instinctively scanning the entryway. As per usual, he found it a mess of gray shades. Gray shades that translated to reds, to the browns of different woods, to golds and yellows, to greens, and to darker blues. The grand stairway seemed much more… Bleak in gray than it would’ve looked in color, he was sure.

--

Not that he truly cared about that too much. He was the only one who couldn’t see the colors. Either way, his instinctual scan came back with the information he wanted. There was no one in the house that shouldn’t be, or at least no one he saw at the moment. So, he finished closing the door behind him and began his way to the stairwell. The night had been rather successful, the business still had plenty of customers now that the excitement of the recent months had died down.

--

Going up the stairway, he reached for the railing with his right. Without really thinking, his eyes caught the light blue bracelet against the gray. Eyes drifting to his hand after a few seconds, he counted his six fingers as if to check they were all still attached. A common practice for him, but one that he found was still odd to most other people. Not that whatever other people thought was of importance to him, except for when it could be useful to know.

--

When he reached the hallway that the bedrooms were in, he thought about checking the room they had given to Nadia. Only to make sure she was safe and asleep, of course. Because she should be. A child as young as she was needed to sleep more than most.

--

Deciding that it would be fine to do so, if only to keep his mind from thinking about it too much, he made his way over to the girl’s bedroom. Opening the door, he made sure it didn’t make noise and he stepped inside. The room had been elegantly decorated, in white and cream and the lightest tones of pinks and tans. Even in the gray he saw, the room seemed suitable for a child her age.

--

He took a glance at the balcony the room had, eyes trailing to the lock there. Noting that it was, in fact, locked, he made his way over to the bedside. Even with just a glance, he could see she was still sleeping deeply. So, without a word, he brushed some of the hair out of her face and made his way back out into the hall.

--

Going back downstairs, he made his way to his study. Work was always a priority, though less so now that Nadia was around, he’d admit. Being like his parents was not on the list of priorities, after all. In fact, just the opposite was on his priority list. But as of now, the most important priority was drinking some freshly made peppermint tea.

--

Luckily for him, those working here knew to have hot water already in his study each morning and to bring more during certain intervals of the day. So, when he entered his study, hot water was already on the desk waiting for use. Without falling out of routine, he stepped over to one of the cupboards and took out the customary light blue cup he used for peppermint tea.

--

The next thing he took out was the fresh, dry peppermint leaves used to make the tea. Setting both on the desk near the hot water, he took a few of the dry leaves from their residence in the bowl and added them to the water. While waiting for the tea to steep completely, he began to get the rest of the desk ready for the day. Writing utensils, his folders, the papers he had yet to sort, and any books he might require for sources.

--

By the time he had finished getting everything on the desk organized for the day ahead, the tea was done steeping. At least according to his daily routine. The strong peppermint scent coming from the tea was enough to prove that it was done for him though. And so, careful not to spill any of it, he poured some into the cup before taking a seat at the desk. Hopefully today wasn’t too long of a day, he was trying to look forward to Nadia and Lilith’s antics. No doubt caused solely by Nadia, though the girl’s aunt always found a way to involve her.

Apherious Chero

27 :: Masculine :: Devil Army / Lover's Personal Guard :: Mentions: Vesper, Neptune, Skya [dir], Aziz, Tavarious [ind]

sorry if it's shite, typed on a phone and i'm sleep deprived but I got it out and that's all that matters right ;v;;

Today felt like it was going to be a nice, quiet, unbothersome day. Finally. Cherry deserved a break after following Vesper around like a puppy for so long. Now that Vesper's ill, he'll be practically bedridden. Or, at the least, he won't want to go out anywhere. Right?

As much as Cherry wanted to fantasize about doing nothing all day and lazing about, he knew that Vesper wouldn't be glued to this room for long, as big and grandiose as it may be.

This place is big. Huh. Way bigger than mine.

Cherry found himself thoroughly comparing the barracks to this lavish estate, and for a moment, he felt like he was being ripped off. Perhaps he should seduce the emperor and get himself a pretty title. It couldn't be that hard, after all, if Neptune managed to slither her reptilian body into his bed and woo him then Cherry damn well could.

Before Cherry could humor himself, his attention was plucked by Vesper, whom was still looking at the book and didn't even spare Cherry a glance.

"You know, I should eat that food you ordered . Make sure to take care of your needs before coming to take care of mine. Understood."

Cherry could come up with plenty of excuses to rebuttal this food whore that dared to take away the only thing that he held dear in this world, but alas he respected Vesper too much to say them.

"Understood." Cherry dipped his head in acknowledgment and found himself staring ominously into Vesper's eyes, which were still trained on that book of his. He felt the urge to ask him if he'd really eat the food that he ordered but refrained.

Vesper isn't that cruel.

You know what, he just might be.

Before Cherry could open his mouth to speak, a maid spoke up, one that he hadn't noticed entered the room. She seemed to be relaying Vesper's duties for the day, much to Vesper's- and Cherry's dismay.

He just couldn't be happy, now could he? Cherry let a weak groan slip out, a groan that he thought he could tame but thoroughly proved himself wrong.

How could the emperor do this to this poor, sick, decaying man? Didn't he love him? Hell, maybe seducing Tavarious wasn't a good idea.

Within moments, Cherry had already distracted himself- again.

Well, let's rule out the pros and cons.

On the plus side, I could run around rampant and nobody would be able to ride my ass.

Oh shit- If I was a lover that means I'd rank higher than Aziz, right?

A devious grin stretched ear to ear as Cherry cooked up wonderful ideas in his deranged brain oven.

Imagine the look on his face once he got news of me seducing the emperor that he so admires.

Cherry nearly released a devilish snicker before a loud noise crashed his train of thought. He could sense a certain venomous aura, one that he was familiar with, being Vesper's personal guard.

"Here comes Medusa," Cherry grumbled before Neptune burst in, who seemed to be relishing in the fear of others like the imp she was.

The snake said a few words that Cherry deemed to be petty remarks, so he blocked them out. His eyes lazily followed her sleek form as it made its way closer to Vesper. He really didn't want to have to get up and pry them off of each other.

The silent rage between the two was suffocating, and Cherry prepared himself to manhandle one of the two. If the consequence of what Tavarious would do to them didn't hang over their heads, the two would definitely be strangling each other already. He could tell Vesper was thoroughly annoyed, and nearly applauded him for not lunging at Neptune already. Though, Cherry can't deny that he would've liked to have seen such a brawl.

A small twist of nerves curled in his empty stomach when Neptune snatched the book from Vesper. He quickly glanced between the two, now more in tune with what they were saying. By now, Neptune had leaned in real close to Vesper, telling him all about her conspiracy.

Neptune just lived for the drama, didn't she? Cherry couldn't blame her though. After all, he did enjoy a bit of spice too- but at least he didn't force it. Drama is best served naturally, in his opinion. When Vesper pushed Neptune away from him and dusted his fingers off as if he just touched an undesirable trinket, Cherry couldn't help but let a small smile curve at the edge of his lips. He normally wouldn't find such passive aggression that amusing, but Vesper made it so.

As if on instinct, when Vesper stood, Cherry did too. He felt the fatigue of being hungry when he rose to his full height and nearly tripped over himself, barely catching his lumbering body by grabbing the rim of a nearby desk. He felt too out of it to give any more of a damn about those two lover's light quarrel and focused on simply staying upright and not tripping over himself.

His attention was quickly stolen by the smell of a well-done steak being carried into the room. Oh, how his mouth watered at the sight. His hands lifted and inched forward toward the silver platter in a zombie-like manner. He wanted to dig his grubby palms into that food like there was no tomorrow. Right now, it was just him and that steak.

Alone alas.

"Apherious will see you out,"

Cherry whimpered as he forced his drained face to look toward Vesper, who had just given him the pleasure of escorting the snake out.

I mean the door's right there, she can find it herself, can't she?

Just follow the orders, Cherry.

He begrudgingly tore himself away from the food and closed the distance between him and the snake. He barely managed to spare her a glance before Vesper talked about meeting him at the barn. Ah. So he wouldn't get a chance to properly enjoy his food.

Do you really hate me so? Cherry didn't have to ask this aloud, because his eyes said it all as he scoured Vesper's eyes for any mercy.

With reluctance, Cherry held out his hand toward the door and looked down to meet Neptune's eyes. Those eyes would be considered pretty if they weren't connected to such an antagonizing woman.

"This way, Me-" Cherry forced himself to stop himself from speaking the rest. He can't just insult her with his own personal nickname straight to her face, as appealing as it would be. After all, he quite favored his throat not being choked out by this woman.

"Lady Neptune," He corrected himself and aimed his body toward the door. Though his eyes were trained on the woman, his attention still lingered on that steak. He would dream about that steak tonight, he just knew it.
