She winced and fell backwards, clutching her leg. "The hell is wrong with you?" She started to smoke again, her body reverting back into his true form. His hair fell into his eyes as he wiped the small bit of blood from his leg. He glared at her as he brushed the dirt from his pants. A small bit of smoke was still flowing from him in his annoyance. He slowly raised his hand and pointed at her, his skin starting to... glisten? Suddenly his arm reached out towards her, a loud shing sounding out as a blade stopped just short of Mika. "My power is transformation. I can change my body however I please." He raised his arm upwards as the blade disintergrated into another cloud of smoke, his normal human arm in its place. |

Were these the powers others were Gifted with? He'd seen quite a few Gifted individuals, but most who had lived in his village had physical abnormalities - wings, tails, ears, scales - rendering them unable to live among humans at all. His home was a safe haven to all. ... Had been a safe haven. Would be again. Someday.
Callio hadn't really noticed the rapid plant growth until that moment - the tree he was in was expanding, its leaves unfolding and flourishing, its branches getting longer by the minute. He pulled his tail up from the ground where bushes and briars grew longer and denser, into the tree which could now support most of its considerable weight. This had certainly been an educational experience. |

I can controll plants to do my bidding, create plants, and grow them. I can also talk to animals." she sade with a shrug. Then she made the briars die that surrounded them, and they turned to small dark red flowers to match her mood. |

Or is it just you?" He glanced back at her. His eyes seemed to show hopeful curiousity though his tense stance made him seem cautious still. |

"Well, if you're looking for other Gifteds, you've definitely come to the right place." Callio spoke for the first time, long tail draping lazily over the now fortified tree branch like a sunbathing boa constrictor. His tone and posture were casual, his voice light and friendly. "I never thought I'd see so many folks out in the middle of nowhere like this." He said, leaning against the tree trunk. He assumed his abnormality didn't require any explanation.
"I ran into two others like me earlier. Animal features, I mean." He gestured behind him, where he'd come from, with a jerk of his head. "Cool power - Atri, right?" His golden eyes fell onto the boy who had just turned his arm into a hand, looking him over carefully. |

Atri turned sharply to see Callio, his eyes widdening in surprise. "Another one!? Just how many more can there be!?" He took a step back, his thoughts racing. "My whole life I was shunned.. my family telling me I was one of a kind.. that I could tell no one and that I must live my life out as a living lie." He lowered his head slightly, his hands closing into fists. "Yeah. Whats it to you." He fixed his gaze on the ground, the sounds from the outside world slowly starting to fade out. |
