The teacher handed out the book they were supposed to read and with that the bell rang. Manu grabbed his stuff waited for everyone to finish leaving before he did the same.

When the final bell tolled to dismiss school for the day, Mari couldn't get out of the building fast enough. She snatched up her backpack, haphazardly slinging it partly over her left shoulder, tossing a pencil halfway across the room in the process. She tore down the hallway, running into a few people. Once outside she ripped her ponytail out, joyoulsy tossing it aside, not caring where it landed or what happened to it. She had just made it past the fenceline on the border of the school grounds when the went on all fours. She cleared the bushes in a leap, feeling the tendons and bones break, stretch, and reagrange themselves. Her teeth and muzzle enlongated, her ears shifted from the side of her head to the top. By the time she landed, she was in her wolf form. She picked up her backpack in her jaws; it had landed a few yards ahead of her; and hid it in the hollow of a tree, along with her clothing. She had torn it in the process of shifting. Oh well...

She padded along down a trail, it was one of many hiking trails that ran near the school. The auntumn air was crisp, spiced with the scent of fallen leaves and fresh water. She closed her eyes and tilted her muzzle skyward, deeply inhaling the aroma of the woods around her. She could still hear the garbaled squall of the students as they exited the building. She grew a bit bolder, and trotted out of the bushes; even if someone did spot her, no one outside the pack would recognize her. She planted her haunches a few yards away from the chain-link fence, watching the students as pooled and gathered in the schoolyard. She smiled - well, smiled in the way a wolf could. Her face was calm, her tail waggled slightly. Her body was warm from where the afternoon sunlight kissed her strawberry pelt. She sighed contentedly.

((School isn't over. Its just lunch time.))

Nyko smiled to Akira before heading to the cafeteria. He grabbed a tray and started placing food on it. He found a table and waited for his pack mates to join him. They had always stuck together even before he became alpha and they changed schools.

Kai quietly packed his things then headed out of the classroom. He dropped his books off at his locker then headed to the cafeteria. He grabbed some food the sat down across from his alpha.

Mari knew her solace in the woods would be short lived, so she snagged her clothes and sack and begrudgingly shifted back into her two-legged form. She trotted up to the cafertiera, grabbing a tray and made a face when the lunch lady plopped some sad excuse for meat stew onto it. She sat down next to Kai, picking at her 'mashed potatoes with mystery meat'. She gave him a tired looking glace and adressed the table. "They call this food?"

On a different note she couldn't explain her sudden liking to Kai. Maybe she found his stuttering endearing in a way. She felt the odd need to watch over him. She decided to stay close to him in case anyone decided to pick on him. The pack sticks together, after all.

After everyone left he gathered up his stuff and went to his locker. He put his things away and went outside. He choose to sit outside rather then be inside as he didn't like large groups especially if their loud. Sitting in the shade he pulled out his sketch and began to draw different types of birds.

Nyko watched Marinette for a moment. "Mare you can't expect them to have high quality meat. Its not like they know how to hunt for themselves." He said finishing off his fruit. "I'm going on a run. Any one wang to join?" He asked the pack looking at them each individually, noticing manu was missing. Probably eating outside.

Kai looked at his alpha then at Marinette. He smiled a little at the though of humans running around trying to catch something to eat. Kai looked up at Nyko when asked if anyone wanted to join him on a run. Kai nodded his head yes. A short break from the many people might be good. He thought.

Mari sprang from her chair, her fork landing in her pile of mashed potatoes. "Count me in!" She grabbed her tray and tossed it into the trash bin. She trotted back over to Nyko, bounding around him in circles eagerly. She glanced exitedly between Kai and Nyko, awaiting a signal of some sort so that she could go rocketing from the building.
