That makes sense. But I think the training is also the best part of the journey.

Aw! Dachshunds are so cute and spunky! And I'll be sure to take it step-by-step. I know it's a long process (up to two years, apparently). But I think having the pup owner trained will help with the handler-dog bond as well.

The pup will be 8 weeks when I pick him up (it's through a professional breeder whose rep I checked thoroughly to avoid BYB), though I do plan on keeping up with any potty training that hasn't been completely established.

Lol, I'll be training him to be an SD to maybe that'll keep him distracted from his natural chewy instincts. How does the name Janja (pronounced Yan-yah) sound?

Ok.. but what the actual FUCK?

I am a protective person. Very protective, ESPECIALLY over my livestock. I have sheep, goats, horses, poultry, I may as well have it all. My horses. My horses are escape artists, and pains in my asses. I am currently working on an electric fence with cattle panels behind the fence so the lil shits don't run through the electric and hurt themselves. I was working on that today because they got out earlier this morning around 2-3am and went over to the neighbors. So, here I was, just fixing the fence, minding my own business, and this vehicle pulls up on the side of the road. [ Context, my horse fence 80ft [ yes I measured, snow banks in winter suck ass ] away from the road's edge, running along the road for a good couple hundred feet. ] Now, I don't mind people looking at my animals from afar, I really don't. It's not everyday that you come upon a sheep farm in my area. No biggie. What I DONT appreciate, is you getting out of your car and having the goddam BALLS to walk up to MY horses and try to pet MY horses. Did I get pissed off? Yes, I did. Did I have the right to yell at these dirtbags walking onto my property to pet my horses? Yes I did.

I'm not going to state anything personal for privacy reasons, but this duo of people seriously walked up to my horses as if they owned them. And of all the horses to walk up to, they walked up to my Badger. Badger is my baby. He is my heart and soul. I forbid anyone to ride him, to lead him, to take care of him. And some random expects me to let them touch him? Does any one expect to let a rando touch their animals? Am I being overprotective much? Maybe, but yknow what? It's my goddamn horse.

Do you know what ticks me off anymore? "Well their not your horses. You didn't give birth to them now did you?" ... EXCUSE ME? Did I almost slap them? I was on the verge, and I was in the mood to smack a bitch. I threatened to call the police for trespassing and they finally took the hint, got into their car and drove off. But seriously?

Don't touch my horses. Don't touch my sheep. Don't touch my goddamn animals, or I swear to god, I'm going to cause some pain. I don't tolerate this bullshit.

-----

It's messy, but I am livid. If the swears are too much, mods, please tell me. I'll gladly remove them.

Oof.
As a horse owner, I get it, but something like that only happened to me once. This family just came riding in on their bikes like they owned the place. They probably thought it was a public place or something, but still. Who just rides in like that? Luckily before they got any closer, my doggo chased em off, with no one getting injured, of course.
