I'm by no means an expert on anatomy, but I highly recommend just starting out by drawing something to completion.
Then, be your own worst critic and figure out what doesn't look right about it. I like to flip my canvas to the opposite side because sometimes it helps to see it backwards/from a different angle. I do this with sketching a lot.
If it helps, look at pictures of real dogs/wolves/etc and compare it to your drawing.
Next time you draw, improve on whatever you thought was wrong last time. I like to work on things one at a time so that way it's easier to focus and put all of your attention on that detail
Eventually, it'll start to come to a point where you're happy and it looks right, if that makes sense?
