Im probably too late but ive got a tip to make it easier to make a picture symmetrical. If you're right handed you should draw the left side of the face/person first (at least the details). Like that you can see what you drew instead of covering it with your hand while drawing.

I'm terrible at art, so whenever I make something nice I try and make it nicer, and then it just looks terrible ._.
