Jeremiah is everything an alpha should be.
Above average in height, with a long, glossy coat of rich browns and deep blacks frosted with white, a piercing half gold, half silver glare, and a body kept in peak health, Jeremiah is what every wolf often aspires to be. The fur on his ruff and along the back of his spine almost resembles that of a bristling boar, always wild and standing on end and making him appear even more intimidating than before. His paws are large, but not disproportionately so - the alpha of Süd is almost three feet tall at the shoulders. It goes without saying that Jeremiah definitely looks as divine as they make him sound.
Jeremiah's posture is usually alert, but not cautious. His ears are always pricked forwards, his eyes are always heavy-lidded (as, really, there isn't anything particularly rivetting to look at), his tail is always raised, and his head is always, always high. He would never allow himself to be caught slouching. Usually, Jeremiah walks at a leisurely gait, not particularly bothered by anything and in no rush to be anywhere.
Personality:
Megalomaniac | Patient | Calculating | Envious | Deceiving | Protective + Possessive | Demeaning
Jeremiah takes his rank very seriously. So seriously that it's gone straight to his head, and he genuinely believes himself to be better than every wolf who ever lived - even the alphas from before him! He thinks he's fairly special, he's just not like the other wolves who he's following the paw prints of, and it's not only because his prints are just too damn big to fit. However, just because he's superior, doesn't mean he's too good to talk to his subjects - though he does prefer to keep interactions with anyone outside his clique to a minimum. At least he's more talkative then some previous alphas and puts in some effort to his small talk?
Not enough to avoid the occassional urge to excersize power and be offensive for the sake of, well, being offensive. He often drops in a few back-handed compliments into conversations, but he does it with such a convincing smile that some wolves don't realize he was being condenscending until a few hours later. He wants to hold his pack to high standards, but he doesn't go through much trouble to make them feel like they've achieved the status of worthy of respect in his eyes. Kind of negates the purpose of being more socialable than previous alphas before him, but... Jeremiah chooses to not acknowledge this. He also chooses not to acknowledge how this may hurt morale. It's not like he does it often, he thinks... he usually targets members who he thinks are "under performing". As long as a wolf does their job, and does it efficiently, he usually won't have anything to say.
Despite his very brutish appearance, Jeremiah rarely loses hold of his temper. He's always been a patient wolf. Every set back barely seems to bother him. He is great at reassuring his packmates when all seems lost... even if he himself is a bit bothered inside. The worst mistake would be to show his packmates his doubt or fear. He must be a pillar of faith - he is divinity, after all.
This graceful handling of conflicts outstretches into social disputes as well. Though he's definitely going to be a bit irritated by a wolf getting snappy and stand-offish with him, he usually covers it up with a polite smile and a laugh - and usually a subtle quip in return. Once again contradicting his self-righteous style, Jeremiah is not above petty catfights, just as long as he does not appear bothered or like he's losing any control.
Despite how blunt and even rude he can be at times, Jeremiah is extremely possessive of his pack. He's lusted over having a position of power for his whole damn life, and now that he's secured a pack to rule over, a pack that even worships him, he is hellbent on keeping it safe, prosperous, and under control. Jeremiah wants to appear courageous, strong, and admirable - all things he's done fairly well. He wants to be a level-headed leader that the pack can be reassured by the mere prescence by. If any trying times come upon them, they should feel relieved that Jeremiah is here to lead them and guide them.
When it comes to the wolves he does like and talk to, Jeremiah... is still insulting, but at least it's a playful insult now. He enjoys his long philosophical discussions and any conversation where they exchange flattering compliments back and forth. He treats his fellow higher ups like a clique where he is the mutual friend that holds everyone together. Truthfully, he does like most of them... and his favorite part is they all like him.
Backstory:
Jeremiah was born into nobility, but not in this pack. He was the second-born and the second largest - yes, somehow there was a wolf larger than even him, but he never talks about this eldest brother for the sake of his own pride - and therefor the... second pick. He loathed this elder sibling of his. He loathed all his siblings really, elder brother and younger sisters, because they were all born power-hungry and jealous and always competing with the others.
In this pack he was the dreamboat among she-wolves, and most popular wolves flocked to him. He's always been charming and two-faced, even back then. This is where his ego sprouted... it's only grown out of control since then.
Eventually, as the envy and resentment grew among him and his littermates, he killed his brother. And his father. And he would have turned on others in the pack too, had he not suddenly gotten scared of being found out. So, in an act that wounded his pride more than anything, he fled before he could be found out and hasn't come back since.
For a long time he travelled the lands looking for a different pack to try to soothe his lust for power. He was like a parasite, a pestillence - every pack he found himself in always found conflict afterwards. Or did when he was young and inexperienced, not yet the savvy wolf we all know and.. love today.
When he came upon Süd, he was just entering his prime. Using past experience, he harnessed that hateful ambition from his youth and tried to kill any competition - figuratively this time!! - and to his great joy, eventually got the title he had spent his whole life obsessing over.
Finally satisfied, Jeremiah leads his pack to what he considers victory after victory. He thinks he runs it quite well and often preens himself over how mature he's grown and how he's a natural at this position.
He has yet to realize it's only because he's leading them through conflicts he's all seen before. He does not know what is coming to him.
Relatives:
Mate - Open. I feel like he would have liked to flirt around when he first arrived at Süd and try to get himself a Divine Consort yknow. Preferably someone who shared his ambition and who he could laugh maniacally with in their Chamber of Evil
Children - Open. He'd also like to have himself some heirs.. you know.. just in case something bad happens to the best guy ever..
