A herald of death that is said to occasionally become invisible or, alternatively, visible; this terrifying canine of English folklore is a creature not to be trifled with. A quick padding of paws is the only indicator that one is following a person, the light steps sometimes accompanied by the chilling sound of a chain; the Padfoot is known to appear within the sight of the trailed person within a blink of an eye, whether it be walking at their side or standing in their path or as a black form in the distance. Normally the padding of canine paws is the only sound to herald a Padfoot's presence, though they are able of uttering a roar, the sound unlike the voice of any known animal

It is best to leave the creature to its path when encountering such a Black Dog, for they say that merely speaking to one or for the foolhardy, attacking one will grant the beast power over the person initiating an interaction. Typically described as black in coloration, there can be outliers, as a tale describes a ghostly, white Padfoot and the man who encountered it.

Appearance:

If one were being honest in a description of this young creature, it would be that she is not the unique type of attractive or possesses a beauty that takes the breath from the lungs of those who set eyes on her, instead she is a lady who would perhaps be considered pretty but nothing special; an average kind of appeal that can certainly be common with those dark-haired and eyed people.

For Endellion has inherited a mane of hair as black as the night, each ebony strand seeming to reflect a faint blue cast in the daylight if the brightness is caught at the right angle; fascinatingly enough, those locks do not take on the brown shade at the tips or at large when exposed to the intensest of light, instead remaing that absymal darkness as if the blazing rays of radiance do not exist. Many who have known her are caught unawares of this unique trait of that hair, often trimmed to brush and gently coil upon the narrow length of her shoulders, until she enters the outdoors on a day when the air is warm and the sunlight particularly bright.

The wider eyes set among pale skin and framed by dark lashes are what are often referred to as almond-shaped, which in her opinion look more akin to that of a cat's eye rather than the nut; and while the contours of it is rather common among the world's populace, it manages to suit her. The optics that belong to this appearance of her are deep in color, a brown as rich a darkness as what upturned earth is, the depth of these circles of moist soil is an interesting thing to behold.

There is a feature to these eyes that betray her to having the blood of a supernatural rather than that of an ordinary human, one that is at times subtle and sometimes glaring. Those circles of earth, such a common coloration among creatures, display a scorching orange shade when exposed to bright light; as if the irises were set ablaze by the illumination. That particular type of change in color can be regarded as a natural undertone that had simply been brought into view by the object radiating rays of light, if not for the brillancy of the orange, like burning embers. And in addition to this fascinating characteristic, when experiencing an intense level of anger or otherwise passion, the incandescence of her secondary form flicker into existance; the flash of a hellish color upon a normally dark surface is warning enough to leave her be or face the consequences.

This young woman possesses a slender figure and a graceful manner of movement that could be considered an allusion to the beastial form that can be assumed at will, combined with the smaller stature of 5'3 without any elevating footwear, coalesces into an image of a nigh delicate thing that would be rather found in a bookstore than in a band. Despite the initial impression of a lissome being akin to the faeries of old, there is a lean strength that lies beneath the pale expanses of her arms and stretches of legs shaped by regular activity and exercise; that while far from being sculpted by rigorous training that so many partake in, Endellion is not a powerless being and taking into account the reputation that has shrouded her kind in darkness through time, perhaps she is one of the more dangerous creatures that walk the earth.

Secondary Appearance:

A silken coat of a black so pure that it seems to belong to no mortal creature, but instead of the cloth that made the deepest expanse of the galaxy where no light touches, is what many who view this young creature in her alternative form will notice. 'Tis a beauty that no other mundane canine or animal can match, for the delicate wisps of hair that trail from her forelegs and chest appear to be as fine as a mist in the cool morning; and the slightly thicker strands of fur layered upon her frame hold a lustrous quality in the manner of a finely burnished article of jewelery.

There is a sinister element to the optics set within the slightly domed cranium, for instead of colored a deep, earthy brown or the crystalline blue of the northern ice, the smoulder of burning embers is the coloring that she possesses. The red-orange of a banked fire or that of the serpentine banners of flame is a brillant thing, a light gleams from behind those eyes as if the glow of the stars or the steady radiance of live coals were imbued into these hellish optics. The combination of a pelt as black as a starless sky and incandescent eyes that blaze the color of a raging inferno is striking, such has characteristic has elevated her kind's reputation from a canine afoot at the wrong time to a creature similiar to hellhounds or heralds of dread.

Underneath the coat that cascades down her form like a silken waterfall, her construction is that of the ancient hunting hounds that coursed their prey through the scorching sands and bitterly cold wastelands of ice and snow in the veils of time.

The lines that compose this female's silhouette seem to flow across the vision of onlookers without encountering a sharply defined edge. Indeed the sight of her is striking with an aristocratic head, elongated to a fineness unique among like creatures, seamlessly connecting to a willowy figure of such a grace both within motion and at leisure that it bespeaks of the monarchs of the ancient world. From the nigh delicate length of forelegs and hindquarters that hold a fearsome strength barely contained by the powerful muscles, to the graceful curve of the spine that lends the impression of an energy simmering 'neath the flowing strands of fur that is primed to detonate with action within the stretch of a thought; this young creature is a picture of the refinement seen within the world of those who bore crowns and the title of royalty, with a strength unsoftened by the elegance that is her portrayal.

While her secondary form commands an elegancy that borders on the supernatural, many who glimpse her at such an angle that the telltale radiance of her eyes is not visible may misthink her to be a ordinary canine; it is in those circumstances that it is her size that proves the paranormal lineage that her very existance displays. Measuring at the standard point of height for many creatures, the shoulders to the paws, this fearsome hound towers at an astounding 41 inches. This factor of her appearance contributes to the nigh sinister ambiance that is emanated by her, yet there is a sophistication wrought of kingdoms and monarchs, so that she communicates the impression that she is a timeless Fae creature from some ancient land.

Backstory:

Endellion comes from a family who were well-off enough to provide her and her two younger siblings a stable childhood, enough to provide for everyone but not enough to be considered more than average or slightly above average. Her younger days consisted mainly of ranging her hometown of Pudsey and the wider city in which it resided at night; the morning and early afternoon at school; and the time in between with her family.

When she turned twelve, there was an outbreak of tensions between her family pack and another shifting pack who had just moved into the area; perhaps they were werewolves, wolf shifters, or another creature from supposed folklore, she doesn't know. All she knows is that as tension grew, the more restrictions placed upon her and responsibilities to protect her younger brothers, for she was the eldest and able to defend them in the case that either parent was not present or unable to help. All she knows is that as time went on, the telltale bags of sleeplessness began to appear under her parents' eyes; that late at night, their quiet talking was heard as she came and went to the bathroom.

The rival pack's pressures only increased in time, rather than decrease as they discovered that her family had no interest in bothering them, the initial passiveness only heightened as the other side learned that her parents only fought back when trifled with and often did not take drastic measures when chasing them away. The situation was slowly becoming more desperate as the other canine shifters pressed in and invaded their territory more often in malicious intent. Until one day, a little after she had turned fifteen, her parents announced that she'd be staying with some family friends in the States; her brothers with another set of friends in the same country for safety reasons.

And so she was transferred to the school nearby after she arrived, and it was there she established some friends, some aquaintances, and some enemies. It is also where her previously casual like for the bass guitar was helped into a passion for the instrument. And while she had settled in, there was (and still is) a lingering worry for the fate of her family.
