Imani laughed until her sides hurt when Zeus tumbled to the ground, a cloud of dust rising into the air.

The cubs all jumped on him, one of them letting out a roar that sounded more like a squeal, signaling the end of the hunt.

Imani shoed the cubs off of the the lion and helped him to his feet.

"What game are we going to play now?" One of the cubs asked.

"I think me and Zeus have to get going, it's almost time for the hunt." Imani said, "You cubs have fun, I'll see you guys tomorrow."

The cubs all shouted their goodbyes and went back to their games.

"That was hilarious." Imani said, trying to smother another laugh.

Zeus gave out an innocent chuckle. He hated to get embarrassed in front of Imani, but he couldnt help but laugh. The small little cubs had so much energy, and it made him wonder if he would ever have any of his own. But he quickly dismissed the thought. Trying to focus on the plains in front of him.

As they got towards the middle of camp. The Queen gathered the lions and lionesses together. "It is time to go on a hunt." She said loudly, letting everyone hear, he gaze set on Zeus. She turned to Imani. "Imani, you lead the lionesses on a hunt, and Zion, you lead the lions. Everyone but Zeus." She finished, and gave a smirk towards Zeus, before turning and walking away, tail waving in tge air. Zeus barely kept in a growl. But he sighed. He turned to Imani. "Enjoy the hunt." He said, and padded slowly away.

Imani huffed in disbelief, glancing between the Queen and Zeus.

"No." Imani said, walking past Zeus towards the Queen, "this has gone far enough."

Imani walked up to the Queen, "Zeus is coming." She said, leaving no room for discussion.

The Queen turned around slowly, "What did you say?" She said, malice glittering in her gaze.

"How do you expect him to contribute to the pride if you don't let him do anything?" She asked, her tail lashing in anger.

Imani turned before the Queen could speak again, walking back over to Zeus. "You're coming, come on." She said, sticking close to his side, trying to ignore the rising panic of facing the Queen when she returned.

Zeus was stunned. She'd stand up to the Queen for him. He followed her quickly with the ither lionesses, hurrying from the Queen. He looked her in the eyes as they trotted towards the hunting grounds. "Why would you do that?" He asked. "Why would you do that for me? Yoy could get exiled, or even worse, killed." He finished, a worried expression on his face.

"Because it's not fair. None of it is fair. Someone has to stand up to her before things get way out of hand. Next thing we know she could be exiling lions because of their eye color." Imani growled.

"Come on guys, I hear rumors of a wildebeast herd not to far from here." Imani said, her voice full of authority. Without looking back, she continued, trying to pick up a scent or a sign of any hoof prints.

Zeus was suprised, and proud at her response. She did care, and she wasnt afraid to stand up for other lions. He gave a smile before going in the direction of the wildebeest. They crossed a slight hill, and there was the herd. About 20 adults and 10 young. He lowered into a hunters crouch, his shoulders leveled with his head, and his belly grazing the ground. He turned his head to Imani. "Do we go for the adults or the young. I can take a full grown if needed." He said, and waited for Imani's response.

"We'll go for the young. Try to take down as many as you can." Imani said to the whole group.

She locked eyes on a larger young wildabeast, locking eyes with Zeus, throwing her head in the direction of the prey, asking for his assitance.

Zeus locked eyes with Imani, as she threw her head in the direction of particular wildebeest, who was young, but almost an adult. He'd be tough to take down, but not as bad as a full grown male.

Zeus started to creep up towards the herd, one paw in front of the other, his mane dragging the ground. He flicked his tail towards the right, silently telling her to go that way. He planned to creep on its left, and then she'd be on the right to grab him as he fled. Zeus, was almost to the male, as the whole group blgot spooked by something. Zeus quickly ran up on the male, nipping its shoulder, and the wildebeest fled right, Zeus hot on his hunches, towards Imani's direction.

Imani's muscles tensed as the wildebeest ran right towards her, right where it was supposed to. She waited until it loomed closer, and pounced, clinging on to it's neck. She clamped her jaws around it's meaty throat, scrambling to get a better grip as the beast bellowed and kicked.

Finally, Imani brought the wildebeest down, keeping her grip on it's neck until she was sure it was dead. She released her grip, her sides heaving as she tried to catch her breath. Imani looked around and admired everyone's catches. They had caught a few more young wildebeest calves, enough to feed the pride for one night if not more.

Imani looked over at Zeus, "Nice work." She said, swiping her tongue over her blood soaked lips.

Zeus admired Imani as she swiftly and skillfully killed the wildebeest. He gave a proud smile as he neared her. "Nice catch Imani." He said, the smile still looming on his face. He walked over to the wildebeest. "We should probably get back." He said, looking towards all the other lionesses. "I'll take this back for you," he said, looking at Imani, then grasping the wildebeest's neck. He flicked his tail, signalling to lead the way.
