Skylar watched as Rome came over and laid in his lap. He could help but smile, he looked down at him and smiled even more. He then played with Rome's hair for a second before slowly bringing his hands to Rome's neck. he then brought them closer to his chest and rested them there. He leaned his head back and closed his eyes, replaying everything that had happened and wished he never did any of it. It was all his fault. If he didn't overreact everything would have been fine, but everything was okay now so its fine right? |

Rome sighed taking in the peace engulfing him again. So much has happened to Rome in a short matter of time. Who would have thought his senior year would be the most chaotic? Between balancing home and school, but now his sexuality and interests. For a short while his mind battled off these thoughts and questions but Skys touch relaxed him. Despite the day being hectic and the afternoons drama, he enjoyed the out come. Maybe he should have calmed down but deep down Rome convinced himself he was rational. Sitting in the silence Rome reached over to take a sip of his tea. Working up the courage he began to ask Sky a question. " How did you know you were ehm, not striaght? And why did you settle for me ? ". |

Skylar opened his eyes as Rome put him on the spot. "Uh, well. I guess I found out because I liked boys in the same way I liked girls. Not much to it really." Sky paused, "Well I settled for you because it feels right, You feel right." Sky continued, looking down at the boy, smiling slightly. But did it *all* feel right? Sky began to question some things. He knows their relationship could really use some improvement. But we can make it work... we have to, if that's what we both want. "Why did you settle for me huh?" Skylar asked, his voice curious but playful. (oh my please understand that) He then looked back up, still in his thoughts but he was able to hold a conversation. With everything that has happened, how are we even still talking to each other, Sky asked himself over and over again. |

Rome stayed silent for a moment. Sky's answer wasn't much help but it made total sense. After a while Rome shrugged softly before answering Sky. " Settle for you? Hm " he began. There was a lot Rome could say. There were so many reasons he settled for Sky, some for better and some worse. Rome twirled his thumb around for a second before answeing gingerly, " Well, I was very unsure about you. Unsure about you, and these new feelings. I had to undestand that I liked you, and with understanding came some growth and settlement ". He paused, unsure if the things he were saying many any to little sense. It kind of didn't make sense to himself. " You began to feel like what *home* should feel like. And i'm cool with that " he finished. Rome exhaled slowly, sipping on the tea again. His muscles relaxed and so did the muscles in his face. For the first time in a while his body began to feel at peace. Sooner or later his mind would too. |

Sky smiled to himself hearing Rome speak, but he was unsure of how to respond, so he didn't say anything. Silence filled the air but it was nice. Skylar moved his one hand up to Rome's hair, he then began to gently play with his hair some more. "We need to figure this out Rome," Sky said, filling the air with awkward silence afterwards. He glanced down at Rome before looking around his room. He knew that what he had said, needed to be said. He stopped playing with the boy's hair but left his hand resting atop the boy's head. |

Rome sighed holding the tea cup close to his body. The warmth comforted him like a blanket. The thick warm air of silence wafted around the room for a little while longer. His brain pondering about what Sky had blurted out. " You're right. " he echoed. Rome thought about what he and Sky have been going through for a while now. On and off, on and off, and on again. It wasn't healthy and exhausting, physically and mentally. Rome twisted around getting comfrotable still touching Sky. He placed his soft lips to the warm mug, steam kissing his face gently. " But how ? " he tried, before taking in the warm taste of the tea. |

Skylar waited nervously for Rome's response. He sighed at the boy's words. "I don't know Rome." Sky answered, "We just have to make this work, I want it to work. We can't keep going on like this." Sky added, his voice tired and quiet. He looked down at Rome, his eyes lighting up just a smidge. The boy was surely breathtaking, he made Sky smile and feel loved... Something he hasn't felt in a while. He breathed in deeply, letting it out slowly. |

Rome nodded listening to Sky. He truly did care about what he had to say and what he'd been feeling. " I understand. We'll make it work, we can do it. It just takes time " he smiled back looking up at Sky now. His eyes batted gently, his face growing hot. Romes stomach turned inside out. The feelings Sky gave him were explainable, something surreal. " I want us to work as much as you do, but we're young and dumb. Living care free but limited to our minds. As long as it takes, i'll wait for you. And I hope you'll wait for me " he added. Romes eyes softened and his eyebrows relaxed. He anxiously waited for Sky to respond. He reached to hold Sky's hand locking fingers. |

Skylar listened to Rome with such care. "I will wait my love," Sky said softly. He held Rome's hand comfortably, softly rubbing his hand with his thumb. He looked at Rome's lovely face, darting eye to eye. He couldn't hold in his smile anymore, so he smiled with pure happiness and love. He began to gently play with Rome's hair again. His heart began to speed up, just like how it was when they had first met. Sky looked away, but not from Rome, just not into his eyes. He stared at the boy who laid atop him. "You look so adorable right now." Sky then said softly but with his famous flirty voice. |

Rome closed his eyes and grinned ear to ear. His face still warm and stomach inside out. He didn't know how he'd live without Sky at this point. He was in far too deep to let go of him now. And he for sure didn't want to lose him over silly things like Ivory. Rome clasped his hands together over the warm mug slowly opening his eyes. He returned his attention back to Sky, " Awwe, thanks! You're making me smile mannn come onnn- ". Rome quickly put the mug down in a safe spot now covering his face. He couldn't stand how much of a happy sappy mess he was right now. His grin didn't fade, but grew wider. Rome shook his head slowly left-to-right. " Cut that shit out mann " Rome laughed softly. He brought his hands over his mouth with his big brown eyes left out looking up to Sky. He didn't want him to stop, as much as he loved making Sky feel like this. He kind of liked how it made *him* feel. |
