Kodak looked down for a moment. So she did like him, and she wasn't angry anymore. But even as he said those words. He knew she was somewhat telling him to go away. Not leave or anything, but give her space. But if they were going to work this out, then she couldn't keep chasing him away. He smiled, and walked up to her. He slowly rubbed his neck on hers, not implying anything, and not sinking into the clouds as her scent clouded him. Then he back off and looked into her eyes. "Then stop chasing me away." He was being honest. For the last two days all she had done was want him to be gone. He knew she needed time. And yes, he would leave her alone. But he wasn't going to just stand there as he had before. As he said, once she stopped chasing him away, he would be better around her. Then with one last look at her, he turned and began to make his way down to the high rock. Ana still stood at the bottom, but he gave her no second look. As he reached the bottom of the hill, with not even a subconscious look her way, he turned left instead of right, and made his way to where Kodu stood awaiting Lidiya and Kodak. |

Lidiya watched Kodak go, not really moving from where she sat on the ground. Processing what he had just said, and how he passed Ana without even looking at her. And thinking some stupid, useless thoughts on how he looked and how his muscles- - she was not going down that path again. It wasn't until Kodak had nearly reached Kodu before she began padding after him, feeling... she didn't know what she was feeling, really. She'd forgiven Kodak, but where did that leave them? She just needed som space, but like Kodak had (correctly) said, she couldn't just keep pushing him away. Lidiya realized with a bit of a stab of regret that that was exactly what she had been doing. And now she felt terrible for it. Kodak had already reached Alpha Kodu by the time she had gotten halfway there, and she trotted the rest of the way slightly faster. Kodak really hadn't done that much of any bad things to her. And in a sense, she couldn't help but forgive Kodak. Which was slightly counterproductive, but... who cared. She just had to accept what she was feeling about Kodak. And, as abhorrent as it'd seem, just see where it took her without worrying about it too much. |

As Kodak sat in front of Alpha Kodu, he could sense the eyes of the rest of the pack on him, and as Lidiya made her way to them, he could also sense all of the males eyes glancing towards her. And it took all her could do not to growl at any of them. When Lidiya finally made her way way them, Kodu started to speak. "All of Plumrose River, come to the Pack Rock for a pack meeting!" All the wolves seemed to have already been there, but the stragglers had caught up, and he couldn't help but sense Ana's eyes burning into him. Once the pack was settled, Kodu started again. "We have two new pack member joining us today, both from packs down south. Kodak and Lidiya. They have asked to be let in, and we will treat them with respect that they deserve." If Kodak hadn't sensed everyone's eyes on them before, it was really starting on them now. Kodu looked to Lidiya first. "Is there anything yoy would like to say to the pack?" He asked with nothing but kindness and respect for her. And Kodak couldn't help but notice how similarly he resembled his father. |

Lidiya looked between Kodu and the rest of the pack, uncertain what she would say - if she was even going to say anything. Now that she was standing up here, absolutely unused to having to do exactly this... she didn't really know what to do. Not only that, but now the eye of almost every single wolf was on her. And it wasn't a small pack either. Well, almost every. The wolf that she knew as Ana didn't. Not only was it uncomfortable for her, but it also felt slightly wierd. She wasn't born to be in front of a pack saying stuff. That was Kodak's job. Plus, her being in heat made at least half of the males... look at her in a way that made her uncomfortable. She wasn't some prey, or some target. She was herself, and she'd rather not have a solid third of the pack look at her like she was. Rather than backing down, she silently shook her head, before realizing there was something she wanted to say. She needed to establish herself. "Like Alpha Kodu said, my name's Lidiya." She said it somewhat softly but it projected nonetheless. "Former member of Grey Hills Pack from the southwest. The one thing I'd like you to know is that if one more of you approach me wagging your tail like that just because I'm in heat-" she broke off and glanced at Kodak for a second before continuing, "- that gives me permission to snap at you." Her posture was rigid, unyielding. "I do not want to be accessorized as a piece of prey just because I'm in heat. I am Lidiya, not a faceless female that you need to breed with." She looked at one or two of the pack before nodding, then nodding at Kodak for it to be his turn. |

Kodak was used to standing in front of his pack, telling orders and making arrangements. He had not specific Rank, but he would likely be the Beta equivalent to others packs. Although he swore some of his old pack called him "Alpha". He turned to face the whole pack, his gaze drifting away from Ana, as to not get distracted by his conflicting emotions. What Lidiya had said made him proud. But that glance, he wasn't sure. Was that to say that he was the problems, like those other eyeing males, or was it that she considered herself with him? He didn't know, and he wouldn't let himself think on the subject. He had to focus. But focusing was the problem. Sure, he had given almost 100 speeches in his whole tenure with his old pack, but something about this seemed weird. He was nothing here, a mere low ranked wolf. Only one rank up from the Omega. Which he did not plan to go to. Part of his felt nervous, but he quickly overcame that, he had to do it for himself, and Lidiya. Then Kodak began his speech. "My name is Kodak, former member of the Eastern Mountain Pack, southeast as well. We have asked Alpha Kodu to take us in, and he has so generously done so." He paused for moment before continuing. "Me and Lidiya have come to seek refuge, as our packs have utterly rejected the two of us." He wanted to add For reasons I won't specify but he held his tongue. "I am so thankful that you all will take us in, and I hope that we may find ourselves useful in defending this pack, and help it prosper." With that, he finished his speech, and turned to Alpha Kodu, who nodded. ... That Kodak wolf must have been high in status. He clearly knew how to give a speech, and he swore that he saw some of the pack nod in surprise. Even Kodu was barely able to do that. Would this wolf be a threat? Probably not. But he would have to ask later. And of course Kodu had been watching the whole interaction with Ana. Which he had thought was interesting. Nonetheless, he stood. "I hope that you all will treat our new members with the dignity and respect they deserve. Now, I must speak with the two of them alone. Please go back to your normal activities." Once his voice had finished projecting, he turned to the two newcomers. "I would like to speak with the both of you in my den, if you two could kindly follow." With that the Alpha turned swiftly and made his way up the hill to where his den lay. Unaware of the stares his fellow packmates gave the newcomers as they trotted up the hill. |

Nikolai looked at the two of them, trying to be the judge of somthing he definitely wasn't qualified for. Lidiya had shown a suprising backbone that most females probably wouldn't do - especially during this time of the year. Even the most gentle female would be transformed into a raging beast in heat, but - this felt like something differnet. An expression of who she was. Kodak on the other hand - Nikolai found himself among those nodding to his words without realizing it. Even from their brief interactions, and now from this speech, Nikolai could tell - this guy had some serious dominance. More than he'd initially thought of him to have. Nikolai wondered again how they had left their pack, and how they ended up here. They said they were from different packs, right? Lidiya had said she was from Grey Hills... which he might have heard of before? Near the edge of their explored world, at least - somewhere at the very southeast of their knowledge of the world, before their explorers had returned. Eastern Mountain... that wasn't something he'd heard before. It was just questions and questions of curiosity piledriving into his brain now, and he quietly hungered for answers. Why would Kodak have left his pack if he had so much dominance? Usually if one had a lot of dominance in a pack, they would stay there - for position and power. But here he was with a female who seemed to be from a different pack. Nikolai, despite having spent probably the most time with them out of everyone in the pack, still couldn't understand head nor tail of it. He started to drift off with the rest of the pack after Kodu had finished, before realizing there was still one that wasn't moving. Nikolai's concern overcame him as he trotted towards Ana, who was looking at the retreating tails of the two newcomers. In all the time that hse'd been here, Nikolai didn't think he'd ever seen such a... look... on her muzzle. Nikolai didn't know how to describe it. "... Ana? Are you alright?" Nikolai enquired. --- Lidiya followed Alpha Kodu, beside Kodak and a little behind the Alpha. Her thoughts weren't in order still, but... at least she could think. Process. Glancing behind them briefly, she could see most of their new pack dispersing. Well, dispersing... per se. A lot of them were still sneaking curious glances at the two of them - Nikolai included, it seemed. There was one that stood out a bit, and that was... Ana. The she-wolf that Kodak had told her about. Looking at them with... something. Lidiya turned away, unwilling to look at her any longer. "Do you have any idea what this is about?" she quietly whispered to Kodak, pressing into him slightly as to assure herself that he was here with her, not with the she-wolf that was behind them. Plus, it did feel good do do it slightly. Only a bit though. |

Ana stood in a daze. She hadn't even heard him at first, still staring at the image of Kodak Her love. Walking away. How could he do this to her? She had left for a reason. One She would never tell him. One minute she could tell she had him again, and then it was gone. She growled at herself before turning to Nikolai. "What did you say?" She asked, he blue eyes not once leaving Kodak's muscular form. As the young scout repeated it, she only got more angry. But she knew how Nikolai was, after living here for two years, she knew not to give him any information, or he would bug you about it for the rest of time. It was the only element of the youngster she didn't like. "Nikolai, I'm okay, I'll just get back to my den." With a glance Kodak's direction, and a nod to Nikolai, she picked up her herbs, and returned to her den, but before she did so, she cast one last glance up the hill, and saw that other she-wolf, Lidiya, lean into his side, and him return it. Oh if she wanted to play, she would play. ... Kodak smiled as she felt her lean into him, his eyes closing for a moment. He got her back. He looked down and replied, "Most likely about why we have come. But if you are more comfortable, I'll do the talking." He knew how she was, and anyways, he was much more experienced in this area. As they entered the Alpha's den, he noticed a second wolf, most likely the Alpha's mate. He gave a nod of respect to her, and then sat down next to Lidiya. He gaze going between the Alpha pair, and giving comfortable and reassuring gazes to Lidiya. ... Kodu had talked to his mate for a moment, filling her in on the newcomers. Then Floria, sat next to her meet, smiling slightly as the male nodded his head. Kodu spoke first. "Now I know you know why you are here correct?" When Kodak responded yes, he continued. "If you would like, you can tell all the details that you need. But all I, we," He flicked his tail towards his mate, "need to know why you have come. From my knowledge, Eastern Mountain and Grey Hill are very far away from here." With that, he awaited the answer from either of them, but his gut feeling, especially after his speech, would be that Kodak would do the talking. |

Lidiya nodded briefly, relief a slight tinge in her head. "I think that'd be best if you did the talking." Mostly because she'd be absolutely terrible at it and say all the wrong things. Plus, at least Kodak knew how to say things. Unlike her. She was more oscially reclusive, and all this serious talk - she'd never phrase it correctly. With that, she sat next to Kodak in Alpha Kodu's den, nodding along with Kodak's answers, however unwilling to give answers. Like she'd concluded earlier, Kodak was better at talking. She'd make a complete hash of it otherwise, wouldn't she? --- Nikolai nodded, and backed off as Ana moved off. What her expression seemed to be almost distraught moments ago, now it just looked pissed. And determined. Something that Nikolai knew instinctively avoid and not get in the way of. Backing off, he turned around and wandered off. He wasn't allowed to go and listen to whatever the two of them were saying in Alpha's den - as much as he wanted to, really, he'd tried it before with less than pleasant consequences - he was now left with a frustrating lack of things to do. He could go out and scout the western perimeter again. But all the fun was here, and he'd gotten something from there for once. It wasn't every day that he found two wolves there. Muttering under his breath, he left the meeting ground and went off in search of someone to interact with. |

Kodak got his approval from both the Alpha and Lidiya, and so he began his story. "First off, my brother Njord is the Alpha of the Eastern Mountain Pack. And we are both sons of Bjorn the former Alpha. One day, a member from her pack attacked and killed my father, sparking a war between our two packs. One day though, I met Lidiya while on a patrol, and we talked, and then we left. I know it's vague but I'm not sharing the details. Anyway, I went back to my pack when Njord called me for a meeting. He said we were going to finally destroy Grey Hill once in for all. Well I decided that I had to warn Lidiya because... well.." He trailed off for a minute, before shaking it off and continuing. "I warned her pack that morning that we were going to attack, and warn her Alpha, Cooper. Well, later that morning we attacked them, and they were ready. Cooper and I battled until I was distracted trying to get my apprentice, who was hurt, away. Cooper pinned me, and was about to kill me when Lidiya stepped in, saving my life. She suggested I be made prinsiner. And I know you know how prisiners work. Anyway, she devised a plan and successfully escaped with me to the wilderness, losing everything. Ever since we have been on the run, with both of our packs chasing us and looking for us. We have only encountered encountered once. But I'm sure they wouldn't be stupid enough to try again." Kodak knew Kodu would see his wounds, and he didn't really want to have to see Ana again, well, you know why. But he hadnti admit, they probably needed heavy treatment. He turned to Lidiya, "Then we ended up here. Did I miss anything Lidiya?" He asked, ending his side of the story. Asking if they needed to include anything else, knowing Kodu was judging their every word. |

Okaaaay. Lidiya realized they had to say as much, and Kodak had definitely worded it better than her, but... still. She still somewhat couldn't believe that that was literally what happened. Lidiya considered for a moment. "That's basically what happened." She didn't want to get into detail. How Cooper had treated all prisoners. How her mother had died in this war. How from birth she had been taught that Grey Hills had retaliated against Eastern Mountain after the death of one of their wolves - because that was what had happened, hadn't it? Eastern Mountain had killed one of theirs, and she had been taught that the alpha at the time retaliated because of that. Kodak's tution seemed to have missed that. But she still didn't want to elaborate. No point telling them for nothing. They didn't need to give anything more than a summary for Plumrose River. How Kodak had been captured, and Lidiya got him out as she couldn't let him die. How they had escaped. How she had left her little brother behind. Plumrose River could think what they wanted of her from Kodak's explanation. Unless they asked, she didn't want to reveal what she'd been taught. What she'd done that she kept in a little dark corner of her mind, unwilling to even think about it. Deverick. She didn't want to talk about it. Kodak's explanation was satisfactory. At least, for them it was. It wasn't for her, but she'd address that later with Kodak. |
