I can hardly think. Pierce... loves me? Skylar is in danger? I don't know. I stop struggling, curling into a ball, just letting him hold me. I am scared for Skylar, and if he dies I feel like it will be my fault. I keep these thoughts locked up so Pierce can't see them. "Okay," I say. I wait, hoping that he will let me go and fall asleep or something. I don't want them following me, and I have to rescue Skylar.
