I watch the others talk while the kits fell asleep next to me. I find myself doving off too. The others will wake me up if anything happens. I think, and fall asleep. As soon as I close my eyes, the dream hits me. I stood over the rubble of the city, infornt of me lay my mother. Luna. The fox who had abandonned me as a child. My brother, right next to her. Both of them bleeding. But still alive. "Help us Selene" Luna croaked. "Aster! I'm getting you out of there!" I yell, frantically trying to pull my brother out of the rubble. His wounds were so deep. Tears flooded my eyes as I watched the light dim in his. "I could have survived...." He said "...If you had been quick enough, I'd be with you today. I'd be happy." His gaze turned cold. "My dstuff cheeksh, was YOUR FAULT."
The scene shifted, and I stood on a plane of dark water. I was standing on water. This was... strange. A ghostly figure of a fox approached me. They glowed an eerie transluscent blue. My mother. "Mother." I say coldly. "Don't give me that attitude" She spat at me. "Ungrateful rat! I'm the reason you didn't die in the dumpsters! Have you no shame?" She growled as she approached me. "I left you because you weren't strong enough to fend for yourself. You are useless. No sense of responsibility! No common sense!" I hear whimpering behind me, and I freeze as I regognise them.
"Hawk, Luna stay away" I warn them, and they run under me. My mother burst out laughing. "YOU of all people think you can raise kitS?" She laughed again. "Oh how i pity those two little ones." I didn't like the way she was looking at my kits "What do you want?" I snap. "I'm here to warn you. Motherhood is not what you imagine. Those kits are going to suffer because of you. It's best to leave them with someone else. You're not fit to be their mother. They don't deserve to be trstuff cheeksed like this. You'll NEVER be good enough for them." I hold back tears. "Let me put them out of their misery" She leaped at my kits, piercing through them with her claws.
I screamed and pushed her away. "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU MOTHER" I yell, fighting against her. I clawed her and bit her, fueled by rage. "Argh!" She screamed. I froze. What was i doing? Was this even me? I stared at my blood stained claws, surrounded by the blood of my kits and mother. my family. i turned to look for Hawk and Luna. They weren't anywhere to be soon. "HAWK? LUNA? ACE?" I call. I'm left in an empty space, sitting in pools of blood. I cry. The tears flow out of my eyes uncontrolably. I feel something jump on my back. I yelp and turn to see who it was.
Blaze...? "HOW COULD YOU DO THIS?" She yelled and clawed at my neck. "WHY WOULD YOU HURT EVERYONE??" Her claws where sharp, and the pain overwhelmed me. "What are you talking about!? Blaze, calm down!" I yell, jumping away from her. "CALM DOWN??? YOU'RE TELLING ME TO CALM DOWN? LOOK AT WHAT YOU'VE DONE!" I stopped and looked around me. My heart stopped bstuff cheeksing when I saw Ace, Hawk, and Luna, lying in puddles of blood, dead.
I wake up. I can't brstuff cheekshe. I can't feel my kits next to me. My neck burned. My thoughts were blurred. "I couldn't have done that. I didn't do it" I mutter, closing my eyes shut as hard as i could "I didn't, I wouldn't"
