Dust Fern slowed as she saw the den. She stopped in front of it but Cloud didn't get off. She noticed that the human was shaking and padded into the den with her still on her back. Fern laid down on the earth and tipped Cloud off of her.

Guilt flooded her about leaving her poor, unconcious pup alone. What had she been thinking!? She ran and ran, the pain shooting up her legs seemed like a worthy punishment for her betrayal.
