The strange girl seemed a little tense like she was afraid of him. Who would be afraid of him? Most people thought he was a joke, a harmless little mage. Definitely nothing special. In fact, it should be the complete opposite! He should've been scared of her, but here he was stuck in the outcome of confusion. Windlock has never been in a situation similar to this, or whatever this was, before. There was nothing to do, really but maybe lighten the mood up a bit. Windlock let a reassuring smile creep up his face, and he slowly started to crouch with his arms in the air to show his innocence.

"There's no reason to be scared," he said in a calm yet joking voice, "trust me, I am probably one of the least scariest person you have ever encountered." Windlock laughed to himself while his arms slowly made there way down involuntary, but his eyes landed on the cold, metal muzzle on the girl. Frozen smoke poured down from the object, making more questions about her. He wanted to ask about the cell and the shackles, but he felt like that wouldn't be the best idea at the moment.

Splash! Water fell from the heavens drousing him in the process. Shocked by the unpredictable, Windlock jumped up defensively only to see Waterline standing half way between him and his brothers. "Come on!" Waterline yelled while the others were gesturing for him to hurry.

The boy crouched down, holding his hands up in the air as if telling her he was no threat. Inferno could just barely scent him over the frosty, rust-like smell of frozen metal, but his sent was laced with heather and wind, showing he was some type of wind creature, probably a mage with how he was still in a humanoid form. Most supernaturals fought in their original form, not humanoid.

She relaxed slightly, knowing that wind creatures wern’t that much of a threat to her, unless they could manipulate the air from her lungs of course. He spoke in a soft, lighthearted tone, and spoke in human-tongue. She could understand him, but didn’t have the energy to respond.
She was just about to reep closer to the male when suddenly he was soaked in water, some of it spilling into her cage. She leaped back further, her back pressed against the back of her cell while a snarl ripped its way out of her throat.

She couldn’t use any of her abilities while she was chained and muzzled, so the only thing she could do to avoid the water was try to stay as far away from it as she could. She glared daggers at the water creature, the one yelling at the soaked boy in front of her to hurry up.

She scrambled over to one of the back corners of her cell, crouching in the corner while she watched more of the water seep into her cage.

"Hey!" Windlock yelled frustrated with his brother. "I'm sorry about him," he said turning back to the girl, before getting up from his crouching position. The mage flicked his wrists and a small gust of wind dried the water off of him, leaving his hair a mass of tangles. With a swift motion, Windlock combed his skinny fingers through the mess.

Before leaving to catch up with his brothers, Windlock took once last look at the crimson eyed girl. "Once again, I am so sorry!" He claimed smiling again, and his cheeks burned a bright pink, feeling a little embarrassed about the event. Though the girl seemed to distracted to notice, and instead she watched the water slowly crawl towards her. "Oh here," Windlock said while making a small tornado to dry the tidal wave of water.

"Windlock! Move it!" Said the distant voice of Soulfire, who was about to tell Waterline to drowse him again. "I'm coming!" Windlock yelled and started running with his sore, bruised legs.

Inferno glanced up at the boy in surprise when the water was whisked away from her, dried up by a small torrent of wind. She wasn't used to being treated like this. with kindness, like she wasn't just another fighter in a game where people come to watch supernaturals fight and maim and kill for fun.
And she wasn't used to someone caring whether or not she was dry or comfortable.
At least now she knew his name. Windlock. An interesting name, but one she could remember. As he began to get up and run, Inferno opened her mouth slightly to say in a voice hoarse from being unused, in Human-tongue, "Thank you."
Once he had disappeared from sight, she shifted back into her usual form and crept into her nest, a small collection of thin, threadbare blankets that she scraped together to form her sleeping place. She curled up, trying to burrow under the blankets to get as much warmth from them as she could, allowing sleep to flow over her like a gust of wind.

"What were you doing?" Waterline poked him annoyingly wanting an answer, but Windlock replied in a cool statement that was so simple and so basic. One of the most common explanations to what someone might have been doing, "nothing." He shrugged away Waterline's annoying poking, only to now be questioned by Soulfire. "Nothing eh, I don't believe you but I don't care," the oldest said walking on, "now can we please get cleaned up?"
The medical area loomed into sight and they walked into the well lit room. Bed with cheap linen sheets were placed in rows with first aid kit's hanging on the walls. It was mostly a self care area but there were a few nurses and one doctor, though they really only cared for the serious injuries. The troll they fought earlier layed unconscious on one of the beds towards the back of the room, where they had the larger beds. Windlock settled himself on a bed closer to the entrance.

Inferno's sleep was plagued with nightmares and past memories, so violent that she shook herself awake soon after falling asleep. She realized that someone was banging on her cage, and as she looked up, she got hit in the face with a stale slab of meat.
Shaking it off her head, Inferno's crimson eyes met those cold black ones of her handler. "Eat up. That's your prize for winning today." He squatted down so he was at her eye level. "Rest well, mutt. 'Cause in two days' time, you'll be fighting an ice kitsune."
Inferno froze, hating the way her body shook slightly as memories came flooding back, but she harshly pushed them down. She let out a low growl, and Axel nodded, standing up and strolling away, leaving Inferno with the demons of her mind.

Windlock was currently being cared by Waterline, who washed his wounds with cool water. The wind mage sat uncomfortably on the now soggy sheeting of the bed, he wanted to pull away but he didn't want his injuries to get worse so he stayed put. Though that didn't keep him from complaining, "ow!" Waterline ignored all of Windlock's complaints and than soon after, he began wrapping the slightly larger wounds and skid marks. "There you go," the water mage dusted his hands like he worked his butt off playing doctor with Windlock.

Windlock laughed slightly and blasted a box of open bandages at him, and the wind mage left a cheeky smile on his face. "Your still gonna be sore," Waterline claimed while cleaning up his younger brother's mess, though Windlock already knew a couple of bandaids wouldn't take the pain away immediately.

Inferno paced the length of her cage wearily, thinking about her next fight. An Ice Kitsune? I haven't fought an ice creature for years. Not after the incident.
When she was younger, just a new fighter in the ring, she faced off against a Yuki-onna, or a snow woman, from Japanese legends, who was said to have perished in the snow. She creates snowstorms to freeze her victims to death, and with Inferno being young and not truly knowing how to fight yet, she almost froze to death.
The cold isn't just cold to Hellhounds. It's freezing. That's why she was afraid of water. Of ice. Of anything cold. If it weren't for Axel calling off the fight and bringing her to his home to save her life, she would have been dead, her blood frozen in her vains.

Soulfire helped himself on the med bed and threw himself besides Windlock, "Solo fights start tomorrow, one fighter a day." The oldest paused, " I have decided that we should just go oldest to youngest and hope for the best." The fire mage smiled nervously, probably worried about his winning streak. Windlock doubted Golemer and maybe even Waterline would break the streak, but Windlock was more of a "extra support" player. The only possible solution to successfully winning a battle, would be if the opponent was somehow weaker than him. Yet, maybe he could try and stick with smarter attacks, unlike his brothers who all believed in smash first then think.

Hmm decisions, decisions.

How could the simple mage possibly think of a strategy when Soulfire always hogged the schedule? Maybe he just needed a little extra training.

The rest of the day passed smoothly, without any interruptions from Axel or other creatures in the cages next to hers. Inferno spent the next day and a half making sure her muscles were loose, her body agile, and her mind sharp. She had thought of seventy different ways how to beat this ice kitsune, all tied to what the powers of the creature actually were.
Obviously, the kitsune would have abilities in the element of ice. There was no doubt about that. But what kind? Would it be just spreading ice across the ground? Did her opponent have to have some type of water in the ring to freeze? Could they create shards of ice? Large orbs that they would use to throw? Could they actually manage to get close enough to Inferno to freeze her completely?
All valid thoughts, and thoughts that ran through her mind before every fight, even the easy ones. But this fight would be easy. Not by a long shot.
Tomorrow's the day. Inferno thought as she rested her head on her paws, curling up to sleep. Tomorrow's the day I fight an ice creature.
