Killjoy was laying in the shade of two oak trees twisted. The smell of rain was fresh on his tongue. It was refreshing after the long hot summer. He smiled happily apon seeing his pack laying in the sun.
He looked up at the quickly greying sky.
Should I? Yeah. I don't mind the rain.
He stood up, and shook the orange leaves off his pelt.
"Illusion." He called. It echoed around the cave walls. Illusion popped his head out from behind a rock.
"Yeah?" He asked, his voice deep.
"We are going to see Night. I have a question." He watched Illusions tail wag.
"Okay."
"Can I come?" Killjoy heard Breckens soft, and very accented voice.
"Nah. The two of us should be good, but thank you!"
Killjoy and Illusion turned around, and began walking down the hill towards the hunting grounds. Killjoy was careful to listen for hunters. It was that time of the year. Although, they would be dumb to hunt while it was raining.
They walked into the oak forest right next to the grounds. The leaves crunched under their paws, leaving the birds scattering. Nearby as small lizard scuttled up a tree.
Killjoy loved the oak forest. From the orange that was already on the bark, to the leaves that were morphing from a lovely green to a better orange, to then a gorgeous red. The long grass was now yellow, and it too crunched under paw. He scanned ahead, looking, and hearing for any danger.
A doe with her fawn dashed in front of them, Illusion lunging forwards, before coming back beside Killjoy.

It was a bit later of walking on the well worn path that Killjoy came to a sudden stop. He turned around at the sound of a twig snapping. He looked over at Illusion, who too had heard it.
"What was that?" Killjoy whispered to him.
"Shut up. I'm listening." Illusion growled back. Killjoy rolled his eyes. A bit later Illusion finally spoke.
"I think that we are good, just be quiet walking." Killjoy nodded. If it was one hunter, then they should be fine. If there was a pack of more then three, then they'd be dead.
Killjoy let out his breath. He hadn't realize that he'd been holding it. He gulped in air as they walked on.
They soon picked up a trot that soon turned into a nice easy lope. Killjoy had the lead over Illusion, as the path was getting narrow.
~~~
A bit more had passed. They were still in the oak forest. They both slowed down to a walk, and then a halt.
"Are you sure that we are going the right way?" Illusion asked, looking around.
"No." Killjoy said, looking up at the dark sky. He turned around, be began trotting back. "We must have missed a turn." He was sniffing the ground when a large crackle made him jump. His fur stood up.
"Was that lightning, or a gun shot?" Killjoy looked at Illusion, who was just as ruffled.
"Lightning." He responded, looking behind him. Killjoy nodded, and took a turn that was hidden behind a bush.
"I think that this is the one."
"Are you sure?"
"No."
"Okay." Illusion shrugged.
They trotted down the new path. It was much more worn then the last one. A small drop of rain landed on Killjoys nose. He sighed.
Whatever.
Just then it started to down pour. Killoy stopped, completely drenched. His ears were back, and he had a annoyed look on his face.
I don't mind the rain my ass.
Killjoy huffed.
"C'mon." They loped through the thick rain, their paw prints quickly getting filled with the water as they left them, and the path ahead getting slick.
As they loped on, Killjoy felt his front paw slip, as he felt his body hit the ground, and skid forwards. Illusion stopped, and laughed at him. Killjoy glared at him, and stood up. He shook his wet body off. He saw his skid marks, and couldn't help but to laugh as well.
~~~
Finally they got to the Night's borders. Killjoy felt like a drowned rat, and was pretty sure he looked like one as well. They crossed the lines, and began to walk towards the camp.

Sky had heard the rain coming, and ducked into a thick bush. At least she thought it was one. Wasn't all too sure. She just knew that it was dry. There she laid, her head resting on the ground, just listening to the rain pitter pattering on the ground. Nothing better to fall asleep to. Her eyes started to drift close, and soon she was dreaming.
