Reaper,

That's what everyone says about my heeler. My mom brought her home and she never stops no matter what we do. We could run her in circles all day long and she'd still have energy xD

Oh yeah, big guy gets that whole hind end wagging when my brother and I come over. We're the only ones who actually wear him out and everyone laughs when Hudson finally lays down and takes a nap XD

Yeah, I've tried telling him that Hudson would do great in agility courses and that would get rid of all of that energy but he wont do it. Dog isn't trained either so he's like a walking tornado. Sweet boy though, I love when I go to my hometown and can play with him.

Poor pup is only 3 too. He loves that dog to pieces (He sleeps with my uncle every night) But my uncle just...Doesn't do what he should. Feeds him stuff that's bad for Hudson all the time, doesn't go out and play with him. That dog is bored out of his mind and has so much energy.

thank you both for the detailed responses! I will look into getting some mixed affinity wolves! I didn't know about the Pack Life game actually! I saw the interactions like increasing/decreasing bond but I didn't know it actually affected them long term!

as silver said, it affects how quickly your wolves regain health. I have a pretty mixed affinity and i've been doing good even as an avid explorer! I say go for it.
there's also a chance in Pack Life game to have certain interactions raise or lower affinity among your wolves.

Whispering,
All affinity does is affect pack happiness which only affects the amount of health your wolves gain every five minutes. Otherwise it doesn't do much. I think there's an apple item for switching up affinity.

:D That's awesome! I absolutely love her.

I get that, but what you can do is what you can do. You're still doing better than a lot of people I know. My family has goldens and my uncle refuses to do anything for his sweet boy which breaks my heart.

is it worth having wolves with different affinity from your pack? I was looking at some wolves for sale but all the ones I was interested in had a bad/very bad affinity with my pack. All of my wolves are at excellent at the moment and I'm just wondering if there's a way to keep wolves with a different affinity in the pack, maybe with just more work?

I know who you're talking about! I watch her TikTok and stuff like that all the time! She's the one that inspired me to look into it for him!

I do have supplements and meds for him already. It just makes me feel bad that I can't do much else for him.

You're not failing as a dog mom! You don't have to go full raw, even supplements mixed into his food or kibble toppers would help. There's a youtuber I love to watch who inspired me to minor in animal nutrition I'd tell you the yt channel but it has her name in it and idk if that would be against the rules :') But she's awesome. She has a German Shepard and husky mix as well as a Shitsu. And she does alot of raw fed/cooked/kibble toppers

Yukon - If he's a large breed mix and doesn't come from a responsible breeder it's likely genetic. I know people really love Cosequin for joint support! You're doing your best for him and that's all you can do!

Didn't think we actually needed a topic for this, but...

Taking an image and drawing over it is not allowed on Wolfplay. And claiming it as your own art will put you in hot water. Tracing over images in books/magazines/comics etc is also not allowed. If you are found to be doing this, your image will be removed. If you continue, your ability to upload avatars or use the forums will be disabled. Further offenses may result in a permanent ban.

The same goes for heavy referencing. You should only be referencing the pose and adapting it to your own style. Angles, sizes, and proportions do not need to be exactly the same as a photograph for the art to be of decent quality.

Please feel free to ask if you have any questions.

Happy Hunting~

Hello,
I don't really have an art-style, and i try to make all my art realistic. So when i find a reference (usely real wolf) and i want to make the pose, but not the coat the Same, but it will realistic. Does it still count as heavy referencing?

Everyone will have their own style. You can use it as a reference to draw, but nothing more. If the outcome looks very similar to the actual art, then it's not allowed. You should also so make sure you're using a stock image for a reference.

If you get permission from the artist, and/or the image is stock and you credit them is it okay? Or is it just no referencing period? I don't really have a problem with this, but I did want to clear it up.

Free stock is okay to reference closely as long as the owner says referencing is allowed and you credit the reference.

It doesn't have to be a stock reference if you are only loosely referencing, like seeing what an ear looks like at a certain angle or something.

I have been using bases on another site but haven't been able to get it on wp. I would give credit for the maker of the base.

I'm very curious about heavy references >.>

If you actually have an application where you are able to put the model in your desired pose, can you still draw that pose? Of course, it will still have slight changes, such as designs, facial features, eyes, etc... (This may sound quite dumb but I need to know e.e)))

Poses are generally okay. You can't call someone out for heavy referencing a howling wolf image just because their wolf is howling. If that makes any sense?
With more complicated poses however, you will need to be careful when referencing.
