Why do I feel like Griffin will just fine this man analyzing the corpses of their fallen foes and being so confused but not wanting to question his friend?

ooo that's a good question. Griffin probably likes explosion or pretty light sigils the most because they look the coolest, but he uses 'feather-weight' sigils on his shoes the most which he constantly has to replace so he can jump higher and put more strength into his swing.

what about Jäger? what's his favorite thing to do with his magic?

I'd probably say either demons or undead because they are the most physical creatures it seems whereas ghosts are less so. Griffin would absolutely lose in any mental battle because he really is not trained for that type of thing, but if it's just attacking something in front of him, he's more than capable.

If by foes, you mean demons, sorta... Griffin has run into a few instances where they were too scared to attack him and just seemed like they were unwilling to fight so Griffin might just slip them some rations and leave them be.
