I wouldn't be having them on a shuttle though, probably. Not a big fan of those, actually. But I do like the occupation idea. Maybe the visors are also something that people have to wear for some reason too, so there's visors outside of work too. I'm not too sure on a plot altogether though |

Wait really? It's a literary classic but personally, I think Fahrenheit 451 is so much better in its writing and story. It's a 'utopian' world where everything 'bad' is removed. Disease, depression, and even not getting laid are completely removed but in order to uphold this, the people are put into a heavily capitalistic, detached, and and socially ranked society. The last part is kinda the interesting part of the story for me though. Everyone is put into a class at birth and are often given a decrease in intelligence (by inducing them with alcohol) while they are an embryo, a love of a different temperature by putting them in freezing conditions before they are born so that their brain urges them to travel and spend more money for warmer climates, inducing a hatred of reading and nature when they are born by literally electrocuting babies, and even forcing children to engage in inappropriate activities with eachother so that they learn the country's principles. TLDR: it's an okay book that is not good when it comes to story but it has an interesting idea and conversation about a really enforced class system written to mock Freudian theories because fuck Freud. |

Ooo okay so maybe if that's the case, visors keep people focused on their jobs and also serves as a way for people to evaluate each other and see what rank they are in society by a color and use/abuse/do whatever with them if they are the lowest rank or do the opposite if they are of a higher rank. since it is a mix of those two rebellions, I am sure some people would smash their visors or create their own if they want to blend in more. they have more freedom of thought with the visors smashed and some are willing to openly show they have no visors despite potentially being arrested for it. |
