Name: Varkul'Duateme The name is not entirely straight forward though, as he is not Varkul'Duateme Alone. Instead one is Varkul and one is Duateme, by he is never truly both. Age: 337 Years Gender: Technically Male Role: Experienced Dragon Class Type: Wraith Dragon
Wraith dragons are... different... they aren't born like normal dragons, instead they are dragons who have made a deal with the soul of a previous wraith dragon. By merging their soul with that of the Wraith dragon's they themselves become a Wraith Dragon. Usually this results in one dragon, one mind, but in the case for Varkul, Duateme was a bit too powerful to be swallowed in the merge, therefore both are present within Varkul's twisted body. No one truly knows how the first Wraith dragon came to be. Rider: TBD Appearance:
It's evident just by looking at Varkul that something just isn't quite right. There is something inherently twisted and offputting about the large male that has created an air around him that makes it difficult for others to approach him calmly. Sure, it may not affect other dragons as much, all of them are accustomed to the different auras other dragons put off, but humans? Most have a hard time being near him without being jumpy and paranoid, constantly looking over their shoulder.
With Varkul, it's hard to decide where to look first, whether it's his mottled, marbled really, two tones scales, or his large head with it's crown of glorious horns. Or maybe it's the two sets of wings-- very different wings. Or the long tail that tapers down to the second half that is thin and whip-like. Or perhaps its the two sets of eyes on his head, each set their own color, gleaming with the intentions of their own character. Whatever it is, Varkul is certainly eye catching, but it's not necessarily for good reasons.
He's a goliath of a male, standing at a rather massive 26 feet high at the shoulder, though he appears taller considering the height of his wings, and how high he can lift his own head. Varkul's length is nothing to scoff at either, with his body, from nose tip to the base of his tail, is a about 30 feet in length. Whereas his tail is about that same length on it's own, although it's a bit longer reaching 36 feet. His tail seems like it's too long for his body, but about the last third of it is significantly thinner, made to be whiplike in that portion. It's tipped with some wicked blades near the tip, making it a deadly weapon.
In terms of appendages, Varkul has eight. As mentioned he has two sets of wings, but also the normal two sets of legs. His front and back legs are rather normal in appearance, muscular and fit. This allows them to carry is powerful form with ease, making such a brute deceptively lithe on the ground. He isn't cumbersome or graceless, but instead he moves like a well-oiled machine built for destruction and violence. His strong legs end in normal draconic feet, the claws on his front feet, though, are overgrown and wicked curved. The claws on his hind feet are shorter, as per the norm for dragons, but still gnarly, able to deal damage when used correctly.
For his wings, Varkul's first set are your normal type. Large, membranous wings that are heavy and strong. Each wing is massive on it's own, but his wingspan seems to dwarf his height, and even the length of his body from nose tip to the base of his tail. They're truly massive but memorable things. His second set of wings, though? They're more... unique. Rather than just being a second, smaller version of the first set, these ones are quite different. They're more wyvern like, meaning they're a combination of being like a second set of front legs combined into a second set of wings. He does use them to fly, but he can use them in more versatile ways. Like his front feet, the talons on this wing are serious overgrown, to the point where if he's using them to walk, he has to walk on the knuckles withe claws folded back it isn't uncomfortable. On the limb of his larger wings there are also long talons, but they don't have as much utility as the rest of his appendages.
Varkul has a powerful neck, one that is a smidge on the longer side. However, it's his head that really pulls others in. He's got a normal draconic looking head, with sharp ridges, and rough scales. Vark has a pair of powerful jaws, but they have their unique traits. For his upper jaws, he's able to peel his lip back completely from his teeth, along his upper jaw to sink into a target better and uninhibitated by the confines of his lip. However, it's his bottom jaw that tends to unnerve others. Instead of having one solid mandible, it's more so separated into two sections. Like a snake he can spread his bottom jaw out, moving each side of his mandible independently of the other. He can bite with them as one, but it's used so he can lock in bites stronger, able to unhook one part of his jaw to get a better grip without letting go completely. Do not mistake his bottom jaw for being weak due to this design, if anything it's more durable because it has more movement which allows it to absorb blows better. This also leads him to doing what snakes do: eating things whole.
Upon the male's face are two sets of eyes, one set directly behind the other. They're both draconic in appearance with their slit pupils, but both are different colors. The first set of eyes, which is where one set would normally be, are a bright ice blue. Whereas the second set of eyes are a violet, with a bit of crimson around the slitted pupil. The first set belong to Varkul, but the second belongs to Duateme. With his eyes, which ever set is open is who is in control. However, if both are open, it means both are awake and present, and the only way to tell who is calling the shorts is their mannerisms, behavior, and voice. It's to note that Duateme's eyes always appear sharper and more lethal than Varkul's, which always seem to be a bit arrogant, but also a deadly calm.
If this doesn't catch someone's attention, though, the crown of horns on his head certainly will. Like other dragons, Varkul has several sets, though one set originates from him, while the other two seem to have originated from Duateme. The two more noticable horns are the largest. They curve from his head and jut outwards, running parralel to his jaws and face. The first set sits in the normal horn position, whereas the second set grows out a bit below that one, closer to his cheek. These powerful horns are about two to three feet in length, and each horn is about the width of a muscular human's arm. The third set of horns, Varkul's original ones, are a ram-horn like set that grown just behind the other two. They curl there, offering protection to the sides of his throat.
Aside from his head, there are other dangerous adornments to the male. Particularly the two lines of sharp, ridged spikes that run down the sides of his neck. They grow out of the scales on either side of his neck, each line of growth running parralell to each other, about four inches away from his spine on either side. The spikes grow out in a diaganol fashion, making him vulnerable to an attack from straight above, but since getting there is a difficult the spikes help protect him from attacks from the side. This jagged spikes continue to grow down his back as well, and they're the longest here. They grow shorter as they reach the base of his tail, where they shorten over time, until they completely disappear as his tail thins out to the whip like portion.
Varkul's coloration is hard to describe, but it is certainly unique. Looking as if two different patterns of color are fighting for dominance over the same canvas. The colors of his scales seem to dance and twirl together, in a beautiful, violent dance, a representation of the two souls in the singular body. First there is Varkul's normal color, a steely cold silver that has the barest flecks of an icy blue seen within it. Next is the deep purple and green scales of Duateme. Now it might be hard to picture, but when looking at him, Varkul appears to be a dark slate dragon, as the colors war in an almost microscopic level, giving him a base color of an odd shade of blue-green slate. However, when he moves, or the light gleams on his scales, you'll see the distinct shades of silver or purple or even green come to life. It gives him an almost iridescent look. So yes, while he is a mix of both colorations, they've combined in a way to create a completely unique appearance. If someone gets up close and personal and focuses, they'll be able to see the actually merging of the colors and how they dance, but it's not something you can see unless you're beside him. His gums and tongue are black, and his teeth are a slate grey color and have an almost metallic sheen to them. His horns and claws are also black.
Now, for their vocies. Varkul's is an incredibly deep, nearly basso tone. It's low and vibrating, and is easily identifiable even in a crowd. However, Duateme's voice is considerably higher pitched and considerable raspy, like speaking from a dry or dead throat. The difference in vocal tones is due to the fact that Varkul is a male dragon, whereas Duateme was a female, so her voice can't sound like how it was, so the scratchy, raspy sound is merely an echo of what her normal voice was.
Personality: Varkul Calm | Lethal | Low Patience | Strategic | Aggressive | Territorial | Power Hungry | Competitive | Domineering/Dominant | Violence | Assertive | Hawkish | Brutal | Efficient | Growly | Possessive | Blunt
Duateme Cruel | Spiteful | Vindictive | Sarcastic | Witty | Impatient as Hell | Hot Tempered | Malignant | Vitriolic | Rancorous | Jealous | Disdainful | Kind of Obnoxious Honestly | Extremely Aggressive
Abilities: WIP
1. Spectral Ward: Varkul is able to create an ethereal barrier of freezing [in temperature doesn't actually freeze] energy that provides protection against physical and magical attacks while damaging any enemy that comes into contact with it.
2. Ghostly Terror: Varkul is able to generate a cold aura around him that instills deep fear and dread in enemies. It's can disorientate, as well as cause them to act eradically. It's a very unnerving feeling, and the longer they're in the aura, the longer the effects will last out of it.
3. Wraith's Touch: This is an attack that can be both physical or spiritual. But Varkul can channel the cold energy of his wraith abilities into the talons of his front feet. This allows slowly drain the energy and strength of an opponent. He can do this by holding the opponent and draining them, which is the faster method, or slicing at their essence, leaving a spiritual wound that will drain them over time. It will go away over time, and especially when they've rested. If he's just holding them, though, the effects stop the moment he lets go.
4. Ethereal Devastation: This is Varkul's breathe attack. It can often be mistaken for an ice beam, as it looks like one, but is also feels cold, though not enough to freeze or anything [his energy in general is cold]. But it allows him to Fire a powerful blast, or beam, of spectral energy that deals damage physicall and spiritually, as well as it creates a lingering aura of dread.
5. Phantom Scythe: Varkul is able to channel his spectral energy to take the form of a scythe at the end of his tail, allowing him to flick it around, cleaving and swiping at different opponents at will. Like his other attacks, this deals physical damage and spiritual damage, but mostly physical as he renders the energy in a temporarily physical construct.
6. Wraith's Gate: This is Vark's ability to open a gate, a portal basically, to the spirit realm. It's often used as an escape route for him, as living beings aside from himself are unable to enter without extreme consequences. However, he can also use this to summon Wraiths, the angry spirits of the dead, to come to his aid, either to be consumed to help heal him, or to spiritually attack those around him. This is an exhaustive ability though, and he can only do it once over periods of time. Since he shares Duateme's soul, that is why he is able to pass through without issue. Opening a realm from the Spirit World to the Mortal Plane is much easier.
7. Haunted Passage: This is Varkul's ability to communicate with the dead. By meditating he can spiritually communicate with the souls of the dead trapped on the mortal plane. However, he also is able to have the part of Duateme's soul that remains unmerged to the Spirit Realm to gather information, bring back spirits for him to interrogate, etc. However, Dua has to be careful while doing this, and she is notoriously unreliable and uncooperative.
Strengths & Weaknesses: Strengths + Dua will eat anyone + Versatile Ability Range + Physical Powerhouse & Durable + Steady, Strong Flyer + Enhanced Bite + Varkul will likely eat you too + Can consume or control spirits
Weaknesses - Varkul isn't always in control, and Duateme is not a team player. At all. - Not the Fastest or Most Agile of Dragons - Vulnerable to Attacks from Directly Above - Duateme HATES being dirty, it ticks her off. - The part of Dua's soul that remains unmerged could potentially get stuck in the spirit realm, and if she did, Varkul would be weaker. - Obviously his powers are draining when actively being used. - No really. Don't trust Dua. Beware the Crazy Lady. - Has to Physically Rest his Body because having to Souls is taxing
Crush: There may be a particular fiery she-dragon who has caught his eyes.. Mate: None Kin: Melpomene - Mother, Ice Dragon, Alive Zelophehad - Father, Dark Dragon, Alive Ingris - Sister, Ice Dragon, Alive Nilesh - Brother, Dark Dragon, Deceased, Killed by Varkul Izotz - Brother, Ice Dragon, Deceased, Killed by Nilesh Dzvezda - Sister, Dark Dragon, Deceased, Killed by Ingris Enkhtuya - Guardian Mother, Water Dragon, Alive Affiliations: Maybe Open Other: Ma Boy
Background: Varkul, before he was Varkul'Duateme, was born as an Ice Dragon within a clutch belonging to a smaller, but harsh clan. His father was a Dark Dragon, and his Mother an Ice Dragon, and he was born into a Clutch of 5. Unfortunately, for Varkul and his siblings, the rules of the clan is that only 2 hatchlings may survive, 1 male and 1 female, and it's the strongest survive, meaning the strongest have to kill their weaker siblings to secure their right within the clan.
Within is clutch of five there were 3 ice dragons and 2 dark. Varkul's sister, Ingris, was not only the strongest female hatchling, but the strongest hatchling in general, and she quickly disposed of her weaker sister, the only Dark Female, Dzvezda. For Varkul and his two brothers, a Dark Dragon and another Ice Dragon, it was less clear. His Dark Brother, Nilesh, was quick to dispatch their third brother, Izotz, the Ice Dragon, who was signicantly weaker and smaller than both Varkul and Nilesh. This left the two vying for the position of the Male Offspring, but being so evenly matched in size and strength, it was not so easily achieved.
Nilesh attempted many times to take Varkul's life, but between Varkul's own resilience, and his sister, Ingris' favortism towards him, Nilesh was often thwarted. As years passed, all 70 of them, it became clear that neither offspring were going to be able to physically overpower the other, as the use of powers was strictly forbidden. So, his parents seemed to make the decision for him, his father choosing to allow Nilesh to take his place in the family, and ostrasizing Varkul. This was all due to the fact that Nilesh was a Dark dragon like his father whereas Varkul was an Ice Dragon like his Mother and Sister.
Thankfully, Ingris was in her brother's corner, and quickly found a lone female dragon on her travels that was willing to take in Varkul, raising him further and protecting him from the perils of the world. He will forver be grateful of his Guardian Mother, but the resentment over him being ostracized festered in Varkul, so when he was about 130 years, he ventured out in search of ways to overthrow his brother and take his rightful place within his family.
Which brought him to Duateme, the enraged spirit of the Wraith Dragon she once was, she saw a kindered spirit in Varkul and made a deal with him. By merging their souls to turn him into a Wraith Dragon, she would loan her power to him so he'd become stronger and be able to overthrow his brother. And he would loan his body to avenge her death and kill those who killed her. Unfortunately for Varkul, Duateme never had any intention of being consumed by his soul, and fought the merge after it began. This wound up with them being semi-merged, and both inhabiting his body, intertwined so that they are both fully cognisant, and present within Varkul's physical form.
True to their deal, though, Dua's power turning him into a Wraith dragon gave him the strength to return home, defeating and killing his brother. Only, his father became enraged at his son being killed, and chose to exile Varkul once more for it rather than allow him the place he rightly earned. Unfortunately, due to an injury sustained that left her with only one full wing, Varkul's mother was unable to go against his father, and was forced to watch her son, once again, be pushed off.
The male was going to uphold his end of their bargain when the pull for a rider began, forcing him to deviate from their chosen path to where they are now. He still intends to get revenge for Duateme, but now the odd pair have found a new place to consider him, and, while neither will admit it allowed, neither of them are very willing to abandon it and lose the only home they've had. ╭━━━━━∙⋆⋅⋆∙━━━━━╮ Magnus Doorne ╰━━━━━∙⋆⋅⋆∙━━━━━╯ Age: 19 Gender: Male Role: Rookie Dragon: Open Appearance: More human in his presentation, Magnus possesses a warm tan complexion that compliments his light brown eyes. A slight build due to his lack of physical work in his early life, spending the majority of his time running from shopkeepers after he managed to pinch a loaf of bread from their stall. His stamina greatly benefited from his theiving past, gifting him with slender limbs and a litheness he seems to be unware of. His head is crowned by dark brown curls, usually unkempt in their pattern and arrangement, just long enough to fall into his eyes if he tilts his head just right. The sides shaved close to his skin, almost completely devoid of any visible hair, yet the back of his head is kept the same length as the rest. From either temple, a usually braided long strand of honey blonde hair extends down to his shoulders. If they are ever unbraided, the strands are typically pulled back into his curls with a small band. His light brown eyes carry a sharpness, rarely moving in smooth arching motions, almost cat like they flick from one object of his attention to the next. They are lined with a standard strip of lashes a shade darker than his hair, not quite black. Dotted across his nose and forehead is a splattering of freckles, only mildly darker than his skin tone, so they're often missed if you are casually observing Magnus. He stands at 5'10", yet he is the tallest of his family members, which can sometimes cause many issues with his debauchery. His voice is rather standard of a man his age, perhaps a little stand offish in its tone the majority of the time. ... Personality: Skeptical | Blase` | Critical | Proud | Moral (of his own flavour) | Intuitive | Observent | Misguided | Quiet | Under his current circumstances, Magnus is definitely not pleased to be drafted into this death wish training. His hand was forced by his father who has had enough of his thievery and debauchery, believing this training would curb his black sheep son into a respectable citizen by serving his homeland in their war, expecting his son to return with a new out look on life. His typically quiet natural is often due to his constant observing of the current situation around him, noting each glance, each hitch of breath. A skill he earned by staking out his robbery targets in the main city. If he were to enjoy the company of another being he would reveal his sardonic character and humour, although he doubts any of these "upstanding citizens" that have decided willingly to enter into this training will peak his interest. Socialisation is most definitely not his priority during this training as he suspects a great majority of his new comrades will succumb quickly to injuries in their first back - just as he suspects he too will fall to his demise. Who would want to hedge their bets on a dragon saving a mere human instead of saving their own skin in the heat of battle? At home, Magus is the eldest son and therefore has the terrible fate of becoming the "man of the house" once his father retires. Retires is a strong term, his father slings herbs he collects in the early morning claiming their powerful healing components instead of getting a real job. When he was 15 he decided to steal a pocket watch from a nobleman in the streets - having succeeded and fenced it for a good sum, he was able to provide his family with good food that week. And thus his kleptocracy was born. To his core Magnus doubts anyone's survival in this war, even with aid, their small city is going to fall to the enemy and fighting is just prolonging the inevitable. But he supposes there is a slim chance of survival if these teachers are any good. Despite his dismissive attitude towards the cause he is now fighting for, Magnus is not opposed to enjoying the time he has left in this world, a purveyor of books, he is often found with a small tome in his grasp, be it historical, scientific, he will read anything he can get his hands on. Strengths & Weaknesses: + Agile + Persistent + High stamina from his frequent fleeing. + Strategist from planning his heists of food, money or goods. ~ Lacks muscle mass ~ Judgemental of himself and others. ~ Indecisive in his plans, overthinking all possible outcomes. ~ Damaged left hand from a disgruntled shop keep that caught him stealing food. The middle and ring finger were crushed with a metal clothing iron, damaging all the tendons so that they cannot extend to allow the fingers to fully articulate. Crush: NA Partner: NA Kin: Mother - Narissa Doorne Father - Robert Doorne (the one who sent him to become a dragon rider to "set him on the right path") Sisters - Erika Doorne; Dahlia Reed Brothers- Fredrick Doorne; Quinzel Doorne; Eamon Doorne. ★。\|/。★ Lorcan ★。/|\。★ Age 80 Years (let me know if too young I just wanted him to be very fresh) Gender Male Role Rookie Dragon Class: Fire Rider Iris Appearance Lorcan is a small dragon, only freshly reaching young adulthood. He stands at 11 feet tall, yet his body is long and almost snake like. His tail extends over 10 feet of his total length of 30 feet. His legs are tall and slender, toned with firm muscles of youth. Upon his head is a set of jaggard horns, emerging from each temple and curling around his jaws much like that of a ram. Smaller less forboding horns surround the crown of his head, perhaps they will grow in or remain small, only time will tell. His eyes are a smouldering amber with deep red irises that reflect pure white during the night hours if you were to catch a glimpse of him slinking around.
The scales of his belly are rough like rock, a deep ruby colour permeating from the centre of each scale with the outer edges burning black into the bright colour. Lorcan's main body is adorned with dark charcoal scales with occasional scatterings of gold flecked areas that glint in the sunlight with a blinding brightness. Each leg is tipped with golden talons, the feet are lifted from the ground gracefully, poised on the tips of each toe. Dark wings extend from his dorsal, lifting them up will reveal the same deep ruby gemstone colour of his belly scales painting the webbing, each wing's claws adorn the same gold colour as his talong. Lorcan's scales are rough and will cause abbrasions to weaker skin such as humanoids if he were to be ridden without precautions. Spines arise from the base of his tail, smaller towards his hips but growing in size as they travel down his tail to the very tip. Where a razor sharp blade is affixed to his tail, a small notch in the tip creates a serated surface that rips through flesh rather than slicing. Personality Juvenile | Forthright | Flippant | Excitable | Clumsy | Unsure | Naive Lorcan's youth is often his downfall, be it getting too forceful during play fights or not being able to hold his tongue, he is frequently getting cuffed aside the head by elder dragons. He in fact has little man syndrome and will try to be the centre of attention if the opportunity presents itself. Unsure of his own skills, he can often forget his surroundings and cause damage to infrastructure or other people's feelings. Be sure to avoid his tail when he is excited as it will swing wide without thought for what may be nearby.
Lorcan enjoys the company of other dragons, especially after travelling to these training grounds without his hatch mates whom he has never spent a day without prior to now. He attaches to older dragons with ease, even if they think he is a pest, he will likely sick around until a very obvious situation makes him aware of the true relationship. His young age also means his abilities are unstable and dangerous under certain circumstances. Whilst he is unable to control his full potential, he never would admit that. For a dragon to not be in control of itself would be ridiculous! They're the most powerful beings, so how could they be clumsy and out of control? Right? Abilities Ragged Slash; A strong sweep of his long, whip like tail is thrown, spinning his body into a whirling circle, creating a spinning serated razor that guts through those unfortunate enough to be within close vacinity. Hell's Bells; Descending his feet onto a flatter stance, Lorcan can slide out another two inches of talons, which upon hitting a hard surface produce a ringing clang that sounds surprising like a church bell. Not a particularly impressive skill, but sometimes those extra few inches can change an outcome. Scorching Blaze; An overwhelming blast of pure agonising power and heat, expelled from the maws of Lorcan, burning a fierce orange-red and disintegrating organic matter that comes into contact with the flame. A wild and untamable flame that Lorcan is unable to fully control, often it sweeps away from his target and can cause undesired damage. Strengths & Weaknesses + Docile + Sneaky (smaller size) + Thourough ~ Scorched blaze can burn through his own maw, scalding his own flesh and causing raw/tender jaws that often take a day to crust over and two to eventually heal. ~ Young and extremely inexperienced, even with dragon combat, having only play fought with other young dragons before being brought to become bonded with a Rider. ~ The whirling whip of his Ragged Slash can cause damage to the vertebrae of his tail, sometimes smashing the bone which takes significant time to heal. ~ His lack of seriousness can put him in a fatal place in dangerous situations. Crush: NA Mate: NA Kin: None of note. Lorcan hatched and was raised with other young dragons but he does not know his biological parents, instead being reared by a group of elders. Name: Savo'alath (Savo) Age: 217 Gender: Female Role: New Dragon Class: Force Appearance Credits to me 16 feet to the shoulder -- Strong but lithe build -- Has short, fine fur rather than scales -- "Mane" extends from bridge of nose down midline all the way to tail tip, extends along wing ridges as well -- Longer pale fur matching mane grows along jawline down the middle of her neck about halfway -- Lion-like tail tuft -- Horns curve in towards each other slightly -- Ice blue eyes -- Deep blue base with silvery dappling -- black talons match horns Personality Savo is a charismatic, strong creature. She radiates a quiet sort of confidence - not arrogance, but she isn't the most humble of dragons; she will not downplay the abilities she knows she has. She is neither outgoing nor a recluse, but her dominant presence has a way of attracting others to her. Savo isn't unfriendly, but she is to the point and can fairly be described as blunt, even "brutally honest" at times. Her sharp tongue is more often engaged in witty banter than harsh words, though. She is not one to give out compliments; when one is expressed, you can rest assured that she has been thoroughly impressed. Savo grows bored quickly; her strict adherence to rules placed upon her will slip on occasions in which a little mischief will benefit her mood. She is devious and meticulous with all her designs, from a simple prank to a battlefield. This young dragon also has a knack for public speaking, but she would prefer to stay away from the large crowds. She can twist her words to evoke all kinds of emotions, elicit any response in those around her - and, frankly, it unnerves her. She is extremely protective over what is hers: her home, her rider, her mate, her family. She is generally a more motherly, even fairly patient creature, but to get on her bad side is to set a heat seeking missile on oneself. Any attack on her kin or friends is a direct attack on her, and she does not take kindly to offenders. Savo will defend those she loves with a ferocity that would unnerve even the most vicious of dragons, and she would litter the field with the remains of her enemies. Or, at least, that was the way she used to be. Now, she walks through a burning house of what used to be her. Savo is cold, composed, collected, and threatening. Her eyes, which once held an intelligent, inquisitive light, are hardened and glazed over as of late. Where she was plenty dangerous when crossed before, now she has become a ticking time bomb, unpredictable and short-tempered. Her mind is a tumultuous place, harboring universal feelings of paranoia and mistrust. She is malicious, callous, and manipulative. Her mind is breaking, but she hides it extremely well. To others' eyes, she is simply a bitter dragon. Her composure remains intact, and she has maintained enough of her former charisma to continue to charm those around her. Savo's decisions are as they ever were, unless one examines them with painful scrutiny. Her plans remain carefully woven, like a black widow's web, ready to ensnare her quarry and watch the life leave their eyes. Savo is spiraling down the path to becoming the monster that the others expect her to be. Abilities Force field -- she can pull kinetic energy towards her and project a transparent, physical blockade wherever she desires. This means that the more attacks she receives, the more powerful her defense becomes. While it requires concentration, it doesn't take that much energy; however, she has to have some focus on it for it to remain. So she is able to project multiple at once, but she is also more likely to accidentally let one fall when doing so Gravity -- Savo can flip gravity in smaller enclosed spaces (rooms, houses, etc). She can also change its density for herself only, so she can become heavier or lighter than her regular being Screech -- where other dragons spew fire or ice, she just screams. Savo's shriek, when concentrated in one area, slams into creatures and objects alike with concussive force. Stone crumbles, trees explode, and ears bleed. This does not occur with just any roar; she has to open a second throat to emit something with the right frequency and force Redirection -- Savo can take the movements of another object -- say, a dragon flying -- and redirect them to something else. For instance, if she were trying to run stealthily, she could take the sounds and tremors that her footsteps would have caused and channel that movement into tree leaves to make them rustle instead Strengths Manipulation -- she is very, very good with words. While they have no magical effects behind them, she's good at finding and pushing the right buttons to get what she wants Agility and aerial combat -- her movements are speedy and fluid, allowing her to dance circles around her opponents. The sky is her domain, especially during inclement weather, and she fights exceptionally well in it Separating emotions from judgment -- when she acts, she has the full capability of doing it from a place unhindered by personal vendettas, driven instead by facts and rationality. Of course, her rationale may still be emotionally centered, but that would also be by choice Weaknesses Skin -- she has a tough hide that can resist some damage, but she has no scales to speak of, meaning she is at a severe disadvantage in the natural armor department. She is also more prone to fire damage Size -- Savo is an average sized dragon with average strength, and sexual dimorphism is not on her side during a skirmish with a male. With many females being larger than she is as well, Savo cannot rely on brute force to get by Trust issues -- she makes it difficult for anyone to get close to her, or for her to get close to anyone else. She has precious few allies and will not risk betrayal or manipulation of herself by letting new acquaintances in; instead, she has been pushing away even her friends, meaning she is basically on her own and a pain in the butt to work with Ears -- unfortunately, she is not impervious to her own abilities, and she runs the risk of injuring herself when shrieking or otherwise manipulating sound waves Crush: Hmm Mate: Hmm Kin Open Affiliations Open Other I either need a reason for her to be going insane, or I need to edit her personality lol. Name: Laika Herriman Age: 18 Gender: Female Role: Apprentice Rider Dragon: Cthonia Credits to Malachitinous on picrew.me Appearance Laika seems to almost blend into herself, sporting a lovely golden tan complexion and thick, auburn hair. She keeps her hair long; it stretches down her back and ends nearly at the tops of her hips, Despite being a ginger, she does not burn much in the sun, and when she does, her skin darkens quickly rather than staying tomato-red. Her skin has yellower undertones, perhaps due to her desert dwelling side of the family as opposed to the predominantly northerner bloodlines. Her face is what one would describe as pretty; her features are too strong to be "cute" and she doesn't put in enough effort to be labeled "hot". She wears hardly any makeup, ever, and doesn't know how to use most of it; luckily, she was blessed with porcelain smoothness and a natural beauty. Laika's eyes are a deep amber-red, so dark that they appear black unless the sun catches them. They are large and framed by thick, dark eyelashes. Her eyebrows are set relatively low on her face and tilt slightly down towards her nose, giving them a naturally furrowed or unamused look. Her nose is straight and perhaps a little longer than usual, but it's hardly noticeable. Her lips are neither full nor thin. She had a defined jaw and a face shape something between a diamond and a square. Her body is long and lithe. She stands at 6' tall and is on the lighter end of the scale, but her limbs are so long that she's not much one for speed. Endurance and agility are no problem. She is not well-endowed in the boobs and butt departments; with minimal curves, hardly enough to be considered feminine, she was androgynous long into her teenage years. Now, it's a little more obvious, but there's nothing to flaunt -- not that she would show off even if she could. Laika has Resting Bitch Face. She's not a mean individual, but her stature combined with the relaxed expression of murder do not make her look very approachable. Her voice is low for a woman's as well, and she can comfortably sing most tenor, alto, and soprano parts of songs. Singing is a very well kept secret of a talent of hers, though, and she hardly does it in front of anyone. Personality Prefers to watch from the sidelines -- Animals and dragons >>>>> People -- Hard to rile up -- Vicious when patience runs out -- Not a fan of PDA at all -- Tomboy -- Loyal -- Sharp, witty, calculating -- MFing dense when it comes to flirting Laika is in no way, shape, or form a social butterfly. While she breezes through social interaction with well-formed thoughts and flattering words, she never instigates a conversation. Her preferred place is the sidelines, watching others' actions from a safe distance. She can go unnoticed if she desires, which she usually does, and will often overhear plenty of gossip or other semi-private conversations; however, these secrets and games of telephone die with her. Laika is not a blabber mouth, and she takes the privacy of others seriously. Need to talk about your feelings? She's a safe one to do so with, because nobody will ever hear what words were uttered. Her aversion to social settings often places her around her favorite beings: animals. Laika was a horse girl from birth, and any mammal has her immediate affections, though some are obviously cuter than others. She would be content to spend her days sprawled over a mound of straw surrounded by livestock. Any animals that she herself is steward over are well looked after. Harming one is a death sentence. Laika does process her own animals, but she does not delight in the ordeal and is always sure to make it as quick as possible. She's not one to lose her temper easily, nor does she irritate quickly. Laika's second favorite group of living things is children, and she has plenty of practice disciplining herself in regards to patience and longsuffering. If an adult is beginning to annoy her, she just pictures them as a child -- and occasionally treats them as such. When she does finally run out of patience, Laika is a horrible sight to behold. Depending on who the recipient of her wrath is, she is either terse and plays the role of "least favorite parent" (more so for children who are acting up), or she is downright vicious (this is only with adults). Stinging remarks shut down displays of arrogance, an expression promising death crushes obnoxious outbursts, and a raised voice full of profanity shuts most everyone up. Laika does not swear unless she is absolutely furious. Public displays of affection may be cute to others, but she finds them disgusting. Hand holding? Okay, mostly acceptable. But kissing, cuddling, and obvious sexual tension? Stop; you're going to make her barf. Laika is not a physical person unless she's fighting; she does not understand why anyone would want to have hands all over them out in public. That's just... indecent. Of course, she's not going to stride in between couples doing so, and she'll keep her judgments to herself. She would be absolutely mortified if someone did any of that to her in public, though. Laika is the literal definition of tomboy personified. She loves to be outside, doesn't mind the mud and muck at all, and is not afraid of hard labor. Physical work is her meditation, gunpowder is the only kind of powder you'll find on her face, and the dirt is her playground. She likes the stereotypical "boy" activities -- hunting, sports, sparring, the like. Those, training animals, and talking about animal genetics are the conversation topics that she will eagerly get in to. Loyalty is important to her in all aspects of life. She is loyal to her dragon, her friends, her animals,... Laika is not promiscuous, nor will she ever be; if she does take a mate, he will be the only one her eyes find. Her standards are high for herself in every way so as to prevent herself from letting anyone down. She's not interested in failing anywhere in life. Laika is an incredibly sharp woman. Not just mentally, but with her words, too, at times. She is also fluent in sarcasm and likes to joke around. This woman is quite witty and sly with her words, but she is also childish enough to still find potty humor amusing. She's also devious and calculating. For better or for worse, she's good at figuring out what makes people tick - what their weaknesses are. Laika uses it to her advantage when she needs to, but she hardly finds herself needing to break someone. It's a rare occurrence. Finally, she is an absolute rock when it comes to flirting. She may flirt unintentionally, and she's extremely good at telling those nuances when others are flirting with someone else, but when someone does it to her, it goes completely over her head. More often than not, she just things the person is weird and like that to everybody. Flirting is only obvious to her when it's painfully direct and to the point. Otherwise, she assumes it's a regular compliment or intoxicated behavior. Strengths +Adaptable +Confrontation +Survival skills +Strength and Endurance Weaknesses
-Speed when runing -Hard time going against morals -Can be too empathetic -Hips and knees have been run into the ground and are often painful Crush: None but maybe Significant Other: None Kin Open Affiliations Open Other She is fairly skilled with swords and knives, having taken it up as a hobby in her tweens, and she prefers to work with them in twos. Dual wielding is her specialty, and her weapon of choice is a dual broadsword. She packs an impressive punch as well. Edited at July 26, 2024 10:37 PM by Mother

Laika is accepted. For Savo, the only problem I see is the lightning ability, as that would belong to a Storm Dragon. ^^ Even though they aren't in this Rp, they do still canonically exist. And Ive decided recently to crack down on dragons having abilities that would belong to a different dragon type. If you need Ability Ideas Pm me! I put some thought into Force Dragons before adding them so I have ideas!
For Urux, They both look good, I just like to see a bit more added to their personalities. Im fine with the Personality Traits being used instead of descriptive paragraphs but I generally require them to be rather indepth too.

No worries. I was unsure how much to add, everyone prefers something different haha. I'll sort it out when I'm back at a laptop later today. Also any plot points/hooks etc you are looking to do (including fatality), let me know if you think they'll fit anything. is there any other positions you need filled? I think there's a dragon missing? Last I looked anyway but that was hours ago haha

No worries at all ^^ Let me know once you've been on to add to it, and I'll recheck it. And as for available roles we might need, I'll need to double check myself. So I will let you know! Do let me know if ya need another rider. I have one character I could revamp that'd probably fit right in. ^^ Piercing winds batter against your tiny form as you make your way through the land of ice and snow. Nothing could be seen except for what was a mere foot in front of you. Then again what lay ahead was nothing more than white-coat earth and the slashing blizzard snow. Not a thing could be heard besides the howling wind. Not even your own footsteps were audible as you marched your way aimlessly through the blanche nightmare. It was so odd that the color – which was typically meant to represent light and all things good – could end up being your demise. Pausing, you aimlessly look around for shelter despite knowing full well that it was futile. And yet… there was something there. Taking a step back, you stare at the two floating green dots before you – confused and scared at what it may be. You both just remained in whatever staring contest had begun, a harsh silence forming between the two. Then, the eyes move towards you and a form begins to take shape. It was a dragon of ice and snow, and he was now mere inches from your body. For a while, he just stares – eyes filled with curiosity and concern. Then, he moves and blocks the winds from hitting your freezing body. But he did not dare come any close. Nodding his head in the direction he was now facing, he began to slowly walk into the raging blizzard – just slow enough for you to keep up. He may not be able to provide any warmth… but, at least, he provides you with some shelter. Name: Cryosphere Meaning/Definition “Part of the earth’s surface where water is frozen solid” Nickname: Cryo Age: 117 Gender: Male Role: Valdaran Rookie Dragon Class: Ice Appearance: Cryosphere is a well built dragon, made of purest form of survival. His body plays no games and takes no chances. It is deadly, precise, and almost always logical. Starting with his size it should instantly be noted that the icy male is neither the smallest or largest young dragon to exist. He is somewhere in the middle of things on that front. At his shoulder, he reaches a height of fourteen feet. Another three feet is added up top of that thanks to his broad neck. Giving him a decent total of seventeen feet in height all together. Horizontally, he sums up to a grand total of twenty-eight feet – if not a smidge more. Sixteen feet of this total is directed towards his main body. The other twelve can be found in his tail. The basis of Cryo’s body plan is one to be marveled at by all forms of survivalists. He is bulky in structure, carrying an incredible amount of muscle that is impossible not to notice. This muscle can be seen on every aspect of his body – rippling with each and every step, no matter how soft. But it is the strongest or most well developed in his legs, shoulders, and tail. The three main offensive locations of his build. His legs are broad and a bit on the longer side. Equipped with four hooked talons each (one for each toe, plus a mostly unused dew claw), he is impeccably good at grappling and holding onto things. These claws were specifically designed to grip onto the icy ground of his homeland as well as the thick hides of blubbery seals and whales that he calls prey. Pair this with his already muscular and sturdy legs, and he’s impossibly hard to knock over. That is, if anyone were to dare try. This male’s body is covered in spikes. Along his back and sides are three main rows of them. The largest of these is the line that runs down the center of his back. The longest of these can reach over a foot long. The other two rows (located on his sides) are much smaller – only reaching around six to eight inches at their peak. Those on his side do not touch his shoulders. All of these spines start along his neck, specifically after his head connects to said neck. Here, the larger row is only around nine inches while the side rows are around five. These spines stand up indefinitely and are completely immobile. Besides length, these structures are somewhat transparent in appearance – being a bit cloudy and hard to see through. They are also not always straight and smooth in texture. While some are, others are more jagged like an actual icicle. Now, you may be wondering how exactly this prevents others from attempting to knock him over. After all, his shoulders are completely exposed… except, they’re not. Not in the slightest. On both of his shoulders rest two very large spikes that jut from their sides, akin to that of a Kentrosaurus. Except, his stick straight out with a slight upwards slant rather than somewhat backwards. These spines measure up to three to four feet in length. This duo of spines (as well as the rest along his body, but especially these two) are incredibly thick and near impossible to break unless immense force is applied. Even other dragons cannot break them. It is because of these spikes that he has such defined shoulders. When possible, he will purposely ram into an opponent with these spines to stab through them. The tail of this beast of survival is sturdy and decently sized, much like his legs. Though, it is less broad than them. It starts out rather thick but thins out towards the end to make a sort of rounded point. The spines from early fade out on their trip down this extremity, ending a good few inches before his tail tip. This ending of the spines gives way for the sight of one of his extraordinary abilities. At the end of his tail there is – you guessed it – a fan of spines with there being six in total. Three on either side. These spines are layered, having typically four separate parts to it. Though, it can have more if given enough time. These layers can actually be loosened at will and then flung at any opponent who dares to test his resolve. With great accuracy too. Hence the muscles within his tail. However, these layers are not constantly loose. Unless willed to actually loosen, they remain tightly attached to the rest of his spine and tail. Thus, he can also use this as a bashing or stabbing sort of weapon as well and not risk losing a layer. If someone miraculously manages to get past these defenses (and attacks at the right time so they will not be obliterated by one of his abilities) then they would have to deal with his upper scales. These scales are sharp and pointed in structure, and – while they do not stick upwards – can easily cut anyone unprepared to face them. Very few have managed to get past his defenses. And one of the few that have left a grizzly scar right underneath his neck. A testament to their feat… and demise. The male’s head is quite broad in structure, formed out of well defined edges and muscles. Its general shape is like that of most stereotypically dragons, being larger vertically than other reptiles. Its curves are almost pointed and sharp in appearance, as though they were spikes themselves. Though, here is some curving around his cheeks and upper jaw. His snout looks like a cross between a wolf and a polar bear, but has none of the mammalian aspects – such as the pitch black noses and “floppy” lips – and is just slightly longer than the rest of his head. Those aspects still take a rather draconic course, with his nostrils being small holes on either side of the snout and his “lips” being rather tight against his jaws – only able to go up and down. Two thick and straight horns travel back from around the top of his broad skull, being around seven inches in length. They take a back and slightly upwards position. These horns, like his shoulder spikes, are very thick and are durable. Not as hard to break as the spikes, but still a challenge to most. Running along his horns are multitude of small branching-off spikes. They put a bit more upwards than the actual horn itself, and are rather close to one another – making it hard for someone to grab his horns without getting cut. Each of these spikes are around two inches long, and the only main body spikes that can regrow (not counting the ones on his tail). The substance of these horns can be seen forming a path of sorts down to the middle of his forehead, connecting the two entities. These connective structures also look to be spikes or at least in the form of them, except for being flatter and wider than what is typically seen. They appear to almost be in the shape (but not texture) of crystals. Those touching his horns are the largest of these “plates” and stick out to the side a bit, but still remain pointing back. All parts of his horns are slightly transparent, just like the rest of his spines. His eyes are considered to get quite striking in both color and shape. But, for now, only the shape will be addressed. While the outer structure of his eyes take the typical narrowed form seen in most dragons, the eye itself acts like those of snow leopards. Signifying his rank of being an all out predator. His eyes are also a lot stronger than those of other species, being unaffected by extreme cold and having the ability to see much greater distances in heavy snow. Along his right cheeks are two slash scars that once more show the mark of a daring soul who saw it wise to attack him. Safe to say that they did not last any longer than any of the others before them. The chilling beast’s wings are nothing too noteworthy. He dawns two of them, both of which are bat-like in structure. They sprout a little bit behind his shoulder spines and are purposely designed to angle downwards to avoid damaging his skin or membrane on their sharp ends. There is also a gap between his side spines right where the upper part of the wing curls down. That way, he doesn’t cause damage to the skin. The membranes of both wings are connected to his body, leaving no separation between the innermost membrane and his side. These membranes are incredibly thick and tough to damage. Sort of like a really thick and expensive leather. But it is in no way impossible to pierce or damage. In total, his wingspan is just big enough to lift his form into the air when need be – being around forty feet in length (twenty feet to each wing). The scales along his wings, similar to those of the rest of his body, are jagged in shape, sharp, and tough. Sort of like an arrow head. They can easily cut another dragon if they brush them the wrong way. At the joint of his wing, short spikes can be seen jutting out from it (one for either wing). These mimic the aspects of all his other spines and stick straight. The main usage of these two spines is simply a small line of defense for his wings. The end of each wing finger is also tipped with one of these. However, those are much thinner and would only be used for light scratching of anything at all. Cyro is, oddly, quite the colorful fellow. Sure, he may not be as vibrant as most of the other dragons, but he still has his way in the “beautiful coloration” market. To begin, it should be noted that there are three main “layers” of colors for his scales. An upper, lower, and middle layer. These colors do not always stick to their designated areas, but typically accumulate around the same area. The upper layer is a light grayish-blue in complexion. It runs along his spine, upper tail, and slightly down his sides. The lower portion of his scales – which almost exclusively covers his underbelly – is of an icy blue shade. Nearing white but not being completely there. In some lights, this shade can also get a grayish tint to it. The middle section (which covers everything between the upper and lower areas, including his wing scales) is a slightly dull sky blue. Thus, his body is made up of a slight fade of blues – starting at the darkest along his back and going down to a pale blue. However, his body had more patterns than just a simple fade. Scattered about his middle scales and underbelly are white snowflake patterns, forming a sort of spotted appearance with their shape. At certain points of his body, the light grayish-blue of his upper section can form swirls that curve down into the two lower sections and cut between the snowflake markings. While these sticks typically stick to running through his midsection, they can cut into the pale blue of his underbelly. It’s just not as commonplace. Parts of the aforementioned underbelly colorations can also break the fade and swish gently upwards to run into the sky blue of his middle scales. The membranes of his wings also seem to hold this pattern, having small, white snowflake shapes scattered around at random. However, these do not stay white. Rather, they start out that way at the top of his wing (near the wing arm) but gradually fade from white to an icy sky blue as they go down the membranes. This fade is not observed within all the snowflakes. Some are pure white, others more white than blue, then more blue than white, and finally a pure blue. Outside of his pattern, the rest of his wing membrane does a fade that is almost the exact opposite of the pattern. It starts out as an icy blue – like that of his underbelly – at the top of the wing and fades into a sparkling white by its end. His horns and spine all take on a tinted light blue appearance which can be seen as shiny thanks to the slight transparency of them. Finally, the male’s eyes are a bright and stunning mint green. Or, more specifically, spindrift green. It stands out a lot when compared to the rest of his blue form. The sound of the blue scaled dragon’s voice is a complete and utter mystery. It has never been heard by another living soul, aside from his now… likely deceased siblings and his out-of-the-picture mother. His continuous silence has had many-a-being assume that he is mute. Though, no one is quite sure if it is by choice or because he physically cannot talk. Those who believe that he cannot physically talk always seem to point to the scar along his neck. Maybe that former wound did some damage to his voice box? The others who just see it as a choice, however, always point out the fact he can make other sounds such as roars and growls. But the reason behind the likelihood of this choice will probably never be discovered. The roars of this icy beast are incredibly special and unique. What makes these so unusual is the fact that almost none of them share traits with another call, with there being only one exception to this. Like usual, there are five total roars: broadcast, friendly, threaten, danger, and victory. Cryosphere’s broadcast is a rather simple sound. It’s a mix between the sound of cracking ice and the howl of a wolf. This howl carries a really deep pitch to it – a stark contrast to the higher pitched ice sounds. Despite being rather deep, the howl portion of this roar can be heard from much farther away than the cracking ice can. A mile or two of distance to be exact. The friendly call is probably what he is most known for, sound wise. It is a gentle trill-like noise with the soft backdrop of a purring snow leopard and the mysterious and mystical sound of singing ice. This sound of singing ice becomes louder the colder he is. His threaten call is a loud and bellowing noise, sounding akin to the roar of a polar bear with the thunderous break of dividing glacier. The roar has very little build up, just being there from the start. But, the glacier sound does decrescendo as the sound comes to its end. The male’s danger noise is… quite out of place when considering all the other calls. It is oddly high pitched in nature, and sounds a lot like the whistling wind of a rushing blizzard. It can sound rather frightening from a distance, like a banshee’s scream. His final call, victory, is the roar that breaks the pattern of sharing no traits with another call. In fact, it shares aspects with not just one but two other roars. It is essentially a mix between the friendly and the broadcast roars. The deep howling of a wolf and the harmonious sound of singing ice are blended together to form this call, with the soft cracking of ice sneaking its way underneath these two sounds. He has nothing to say. Rider: Open Abilities: Ice Breath The strength of Cryo’s ice breath depends completely on the temperature of his body and surroundings. These determinants cause this ability to change “forms,” but – naturally – not at will. He can never control what type of breath he uses at one specific point in time. These two breaths are mist and solid. Mist Mist breath forms whenever the male is too hot to sustain solid ice. Like its namesake, it comes out as a rushing gust of air, filled with bone chilling mist. This mist cannot freeze anything upon contact, but it can cause frostbite overtime. Though, this is not made to be a precise form of attack since it will billow out in all directions no matter what he does. Thus, he will typically just “throw” it about at random to hit a target by whirling his neck and body around in various ways. Unless they are backed into a corner that is, in which he can actually aim. This “throwing” aspect of this breath not only gives him cover, but can boost his “Freezing Touching” ability to the smallest degree. Enough to where someone will at least regret touching him with their bare hands. Solid The dragon’s solid breath occurs only when he and his surroundings are cold enough to support it. This type of breath itself comes in two different styles – snow and ice – which he can alternate between at will. But he generally sticks to the ice form. This ice form comes out as a harsh wind at first, but will cause large accumulations and spires of ice to form on whatever it touches. It can freeze practically anything in place, if it is small enough. It should be noted that, if he is extremely cold, the ice from this breath will be near impossible (if not impossible) to melt. The barely used snow breath is likely his weakest of the three. It can barely do any damage to an opponent, but it can temporarily blind or disorient them if used correctly. Spine Shot As mentioned before, the blue-scaled dragon has the ability to shed the spines at the end of his tail and throw them at enemies with great precision. This is made possible due to the layering of those spikes which have the ability to loosen at will. Upon being loosened, the male will harshly flick his tail in a specific direction and send the sheath flying towards an opponent. These spikes are incredibly sharp and thick, causing a lot of damage and being hard to remove from practically anything. The lost layering is also replaceable, meaning that he does not have to worry about running out forever. But the speed by which it reforms varies greatly depending – once again – on the temperature of his surroundings. The colder they are, the faster it goes back. The hotter, the slower. Though, placing his tail in bodies of water can also speed up the regeneration process, but he only really does this when in warmer environments. The amount he can throw per battle is limited to around eighteen (as there are three throwable layers and six spikes). Freezing Touch When cold enough, touching the male can become quite deadly. His scales hold a constant hum of chill to them which can freeze any living thing it touches – given that it touches him with its bare form. Barriers can prevent anything from happening, no matter how thin. But the being will still become increasingly cold over time. In his home land, this ability allowed him to walk in ice that typically would not support his weight by increasing the strength and width of it. When too hot, the male still holds that chilling aura, but it would only create frost or a thin sheet of ice around his form considering that it is touching something. He is also safe to touch during time. Though, it is still advised that whoever is riding him wears a barrier just to prevent themselves from getting too cold. Blinding Blizzard While Cryosphere cannot control weather like storm dragons, he can apply some manipulation to already present showers or storms – given that the conditions are right. If they are, his eyes and snowflake patterns will begin to glow and he will release a broadcast aimed towards the sky. Slowly, the precipitation will turn into snow and – eventually – a harsh snowstorm or blizzard. From here, however, he has no control. It will provide him with nothing more than a boost to his breath and the use of his final ability. Snow Cloak The “snow cloak” ability is a rather strange case when it comes to ice dragons. No one is quite sure how exactly it works. Some assume that it works in a similar way as octopus mimicry does – changing the pattern and texture of their bodies. Others believe it to be a cause of invisibility, and the rest just see it as impeccable camouflage. No matter the method, there is no arguing that this ability exists. It works as follows: When surrounded by snow, the male can basically phase himself out of the seeing eye – as though he became the snow itself. The surrounding snow does not have to cover him on all sides (like the snow of a blizzard), and can simply be at his feet. While using this ability, Cryo must move in a slow and methodical manner. If he goes too fast, the cloak will wear off and his scales will become visible once more. Strengths: - Cold: Pretty self explanatory. The colder he and his surroundings are, the stronger his power and abilities. - Precision: This male has impeccable aim, almost always hitting his target in the exact position he desires. This precision is almost exclusively observed when he is using his spine shot ability. Then again, without this strength, this ability would be almost entirely useless. After all, if he can’t hit his mark, then what is the point of the ability? Either way, this can extend toward other abilities and aspects of him, such as his breath and shoulder ram. - Patience: Being the mark of a deadly predator, patience is a virtue that the male holds quite dear. It has gotten him out of a lot of sticky situations and has proven essential in the art of hunting. He will spend literal hours, even days, just to catch the smallest glimpse of the perfect time to strike. This virtue also allows him to easily deal with even the most annoying of beings that could run most others thin. - Body Build: As one says, one’s greatest offense is strong defense. And that is exactly the motto that Cryo’s body plan follows. With the amount of sharp spines, spikes, and defensive assets his form has, he never really has to go on the offense. All he needs to do is angle his body a certain way and let his opponent come to him. They’re bound to run into this side spines of his, after all. Or get cut on his sharp scales. Or even become completely frozen if he is cold enough. - Icy Environments: Another self explanatory strength, considering his entire existence focuses on this one fact. Being in an icy environment provides him with a multitude of benefits and the ability to some of his abilities – like snow cloak – as well as his first strength. Weaknesses: - Heat: A self explanatory weakness since a certain amount of heat can and will decrease the strength of his powers. However, if he is exposed to a large amount of heat for an extended stretch of time, he will die. - Flexibility: One of three downsides to his body plan. Cryo is not at all flexible. Due to his multitude of spines and muscles, he finds it difficult to bend certain ways without stabbing himself with one of his own spines or without pulling said muscles. This means that if one were to catch him at the right time and attack certain areas of his body, he would have an incredibly difficult time getting them off. - Agility: The second downside to his body plan. The blue scaled dragon is in no way capable of agility. With hook-like claws, a broad and heavy build, and some of his spines, he finds it rather hard to move quickly in order to avoid a hit. Then again, he doesn’t really need to. He’s sturdy enough to take hits and has the defenses to back it up. But, if he needs to flee, then he better hope that he can avoid all of the incoming attacks because there is no way he is dodging any of them. - Arid Environments: Like his environmental strength, this is a rather self explanatory weakness. Being in an arid environment can cause a lot of health problems. At least in other hot biomes (like jungles), he can use water to cool down. In these areas, however, there is no water or precipitation. Thus, he will be forced to suffer through the heat. If it doesn’t kill him first, that is. - Specialized Niche: Yet another downside to his body plan. This is an odd sort of weakness, but a weakness one the less. Much like polar bears and their hunting tactics, Cryo is very specialized for living a certain way. In his case, he is specialized for living in frozen biomes and practically nowhere else. All his desired prey items and the entire basis for his life is centered on these regions. So, take him away from this style of life, and he’ll be in grave trouble. Of course, he can adapt, but he takes a lot longer to do so than most. Likes: - Cold - Winter - Cold Biomes - Shallow Waters - Companions - Listening To Others Dislikes: - Warmth - Summer - Hot Biomes - His Mother - Speaking - Deserters Crush: Maybe someone interested in him? He’s very likely to have any interest in another dragon as of right now. Open Mate: Not yet. Kin: He is… unsure on what actually happened to his siblings. All he knows is that they were all eventually left behind. All except for him. Polynya (NPC) – Cryo and his mother have some… complicated history to say the least. She is the source of a lot of pain and trauma in his life, even if it was inadvertent. She by no means abused or demeaned him! She just… Let’s just say that her only goal was to raise the strongest offspring she could. Ones that, without a doubt, could survive on their own when the time came. Thus, this led her to abandoning those who she deemed unworthy of her time, energy, and resources. In other words, she’s the reason he doesn’t know where his siblings are or what became of them. Open Affiliations: Open Other: - For whatever reason, Cyro never speaks. It is not known whether he just refuses to, or if he is physically incapable of the action. Though, most assume that it is on his own terms since he can still roar and growl. - The blue-stricken male has never really had many close family or friends. So, he holds all those he considers as such as close as possible and rarely leaves their side. - The best place to ride this dragon is between his neck and shoulders. A gap between all lines of spines lies in this area. - Padding and heavier clothing is suggested when riding this beast. Else, one may hurt themselves on his scales, develop a cold, or turn into a literal block of solid ice. Remind me, I need ta make a dragon that possesses a mix of Blackbird calls within their roars. :p
