"Job"
A rat dog, of course! He kills the pests in his human's barn and house. Just try to get a mouse past him!
Are they already apart of The War Dogs?
Not yet... but he's seen them before and wants to join. So it's really only a matter of time. c;
Open for relationships/crushes?
Sure! PM if interested or just let it develop.
Family
Unknown - he was separated from his siblings very early.
Owner's name
Felix Suárez, a resident cattle farmer and horse owner. (LMK if you want to have the same owner/live close together.)
How long does it take them to get to the forest?
30-45 minutes depending on how motivated he is. The War Dogs often pass by his farm on their adventures. He isn't always on "rat duty", meaning he spends some days sleeping inside and sneaking out to join the War Dogs at night. He is a master escape artist so this is usually not a problem. ;)

Appearance
Beni would be considered a small dog, standing at 14 inches at the shoulder and weighing about 17 pounds. He has an agile, lean build, small but proportionate, with slightly lanky legs and neck that gives him a sleek, elegant look like a whippet or Italian greyhound. He is no pit bull or shepherd, but he is in excellent shape - incredibly quick, focused, with shocking stamina, and able to turn/stop on a dime. This terrier can snap up a rat before it even has time to run. Even keeping up with large dogs while running is not a problem for him.
Beni sports a smooth, sleek tricolor coat - white with large black splotches on his back and sides. His head and ears are black, broken by a white muzzle and a white blaze up his forehead. Near orange markings also stand out on his eyebrows and cheeks. His muzzle is on the long side, His ears are huge, likely the first thing most dogs notice about him. They are pointed and triangular, often perked up sharply towards whatever is interesting him. However, as with many rat terriers, his tail is docked short. His eyes are a deep brown, shiny and keen, never seeming to miss anything. He almost has the look of a stray dog - quick-footed, alert and roguishly charming - if he does say so himself.
He doesn't bark much, surprisingly enough, at least not around the War Dogs. However any human or animal that comes within 50 feet of his home will have their eardrums blown out by his loud, high-pitched battle cries. He does have quite the "yappy" bark.
Personality
Beni is everything you'd expect out of a terrier and more. High-energy, intelligent, outgoing, charismatic and witty, as well as being observant, quick-thinking and impulsive. He is a scrappy and clever little guy, and remarkably independent - he doesn't mind working alone and relying on his own judgement and gut instincts. He does enjoy socializing though, playing and joking with other dogs. He keeps it light, sponteneous and casual, always ready for a game or adventure. He can be stubborn and rebellious, not known for his diligence or faithful follower-ship. He isn't aggressive towards other dogs (he's not stupid, he knows some of them are over triple his size and weight), but he will tell even a high-power authority figure if he thinks they're doing something dumb or are about to make a bad decision. He hates being underestimated, but it happens a lot and he's settled on a strategy: let them think what they want, then prove them wrong and leave them in the dust!
Beni doesn't have much reverence when it comes to tradition or rules, and will test "the way it's done" relentlessly unless he's given a good reason not to. "That's just the way it is" falls on deaf ears, "follow the beaten path" is met with a scoff and an implied middle finger as he runs the opposite direction. Beni is ferociously stubborn and has a mind of his own, with dogs and humans alike (though he has learned to obey his human masters.) Even his master sometimes has to use a warning note in his tone, a stern bark of "Torro!" to put him in his place - and the man has been training him since he was a tiny puppy. He can be quite the little nuisance to traditional or linear-thinking dogs.
True to form Benito is impulsive and lightning-quick to react to things, relying strongly on instincts and intuition to guide him rather than strategy or planning. Usually this is at least partly backed by common sense, sometimes he's not so lucky. But this also extends to his relational skills, meaning he doesn't take time to process emotions before reacting to things. If he's interested in you, you'll hear about it. If you're talking trash (and believe me, nothing escapes those pointy bat ears,) you're going to hear what he thinks of you right here and now, which can end up wounding friendships and even making enemies. Overall he is a fun-loving, clever, scrappy and independent dog, but he can be very brave when he finds a dog or group worth his respect and affection. He can be a stand-out partner in crime, being honest and straight-forward, loyal to the end, attentive and loving. Respect is not given freely, but earned - when you prove yourself to be competent he will follow through on what you ask him to do. He's naiive and immature, obnoxious at times and still finding his place in the world. But he has time to grow and mature into a bold, vivacious and well-respected companion and friend.
Backstory
Beni's story is a fairly straight-forward one. His mother was a stray who was taken in by a shelter while pregnant. Beni was born at the shelter and separated as soon as possible, where he was then sold to his current owner. He trained him from day one, bringing him up on scent trails and stern command training, honing his natural instinct to chase and kill rats effectively. Life is good! He gets to run around his owner's huge property and kill any vermin he can get his jaws on.
Beni snuck out of the house at night a couple of times, but a couple of nights ago he had seen the War Dogs run by the barn. He tried to talk to them but they mostly ignored them - until he decided to follow them. He kept up with the big dogs, despite their efforts to outrun him. He plans to go back tonight to meet them, and see what they're all about...
Strengths
Speed, agility, killing small prey, swimming, working/carrying out a part of an operation independently, see "Personality."
Weaknesses
Small size and... limited physical strength. Anything bigger than a midsized rabbit could probably overpower him. Impulsiveness, stubbornness, rebelliousness, joviality/unwillingness to take most things seriously, a high prey drive that screws him over sometimes and makes him unpredictable. He doesn't do well at all in the cold. Ferociously stubborn - you'd be best off telling him to do the opposite of what you want him to do.
Skills (isn't this like strengths >,>)
Running, swimming, hunting quick, small animals, getting out of tough situations with quick thinking.
Fears
Thunder, wolves/coyotes/foxes. He's not afraid of much, but a few run-ins with wild critters hiding in his barn have made him think twice before tussling with them. (But some of those barn cats he works with might as well be wild.)

Likes
Humans, dogs, cats, any animal that will tolerate him really. Pleasing his owner, compliments/praise/attention, learning tricks (and earning easy treats), hunting and chasing mice and rats, winning competitions, learning and trying new things, playing, swimming, running and racing! He is also very stubborn and spends his free time thinking of new ways to escape, break rules or get treats/food. Oh yeah he loooves human food!!
Dislikes
Being treated like a puppy (although he is one, for all intents and purposes), being bored, sitting still for too long or being cooped up, babies/toddlers (they smell strange and like to pull on his ears - though he would never hurt one) large wild animals like wolverines and foxes, losing any competition, authoritative or boring rule-follower dogs who think they can boss him around without a good reason, storms/thunder, and big, clumsy, lumbering dogs who think they know everything!
Favorites
Hunting, racing, being with his human family, human food, sneaking out, getting his way, squeaky toys, children, and winning!!
