Maybe you shouldn't use your abilitiess as much. We don't know how much you could use them without consequences and if that's true it'd be smart to save them for when/if we run into any zombies or incase of a emergency.

What's the soul tree? Should we be worried if it seems that bad?

oh. the soul tree was the thing that powered the tankettle port. (points right, to a collapsed frame and a rusted glimpse of a ship's front) now that the soul tree is destroyed, it shut down... now, we cannot make any more evacuation ships. we are starting to create a forcefield of which if a zombie enters it immediately disinfect them so we can start civilization again.

What do you mean by we? I thought you and me were the last people who weren't. You know. Zombies.

well, the last scientist here managed to cure his zombie crew. they are underground in a base, where they are working on the anti-infect barrier.

Sounds like they might be our next best chance. But I'm not going to trust them. For all we know this cure you said they found could have side effects or something or it's only a temporary fix that requires the crew to take it once a day or something.

oh. they proved it had no side effects by testing it on a zombie first. it cured em with 0 side effects.
