As Kodak leaped the female easily slid to his right, evading him. He landed and quickly turned to fave her agin. The anger still hadn't died dowm within him, and he leapt at her again. This time, she slid to his left, and he missed yet again. Anger now boiling inside of him he turned for a third time, hatred gleaming in his golden eyes. As he leapt, she ducked down, and he jumped right over her. He landed awkrawdlign on his front right paw, and pain shot up his foreleg. But he seemed to be fine. He took a deep breath, and something floated through the back of his mind. What had this female done to him? She was younger than him, she in no ways have or form could have murdered his father. So why was he directing his anger at her? She may have been in a battle or two, but she hadn't done anything directly to him. But he started it now, and a now he was calm. He turned around, less anger in his eyes. She was still one of then though. He leaped at her again, connecting this time and pinning her to the ground, he didn't bite or claw. "What are you doing on my territory?" He asked. Not realizing he wasn't balanced fully, which easily would give her the advantage if she wished to attack.

Lidiya grimaced as she got thrown on her back. Honestly, she should have seen it coming - he did seem like a much better fighter than she was at seventy or so pounds - but that didn't mean she couldn't try.

"What, this is your territory? Looked like you crossed the border and this looks like mine to me." Careful words, designed to simply piss off wolves - something that she almost had a specialty off when she wanted to be left alone to do her thing.

This wasn't any different, and Lidiya could almost feel the anger vibes eminating off him. Why he was this angry, she had no idea. And with that anger she could probably push him off and get on top of him in an instant.

But as angry as he looked, he didn't necessarily look like he was the type to rip her throat out. And she'd definitely capitalize on the anger later. But for now, with him pinning her, what was a better time to bait him slightly and learn more?

Because against her better judgement, she was somewhat tempted to talk to this unknown wolf. See what he thought and why. Because it wasn't every day that they could do this.

Plus, it'd be fun. And what was more fun than courting death while being pinned by the enemy?

"What's got you so angry, anyway?" The words came out of her before she realized it. But really, she didn't feel too much at threat at the moment. Plus, if she kept talking there was less chance her throat was going to get ripped out.

Kodak was surprised the she-wolf wasn't fighting back. But as she said those words, he looked around. His gaze flickered from anger to worry to anger again. He was not in his territory anymore, all she had to do was howl and he was screwed. He looked back at the she-wolf even as she said those next words. Really. She had to know who he was. Couldn't she tell but the look of him? She was just playing stupid. "Of course you know who I am." He said. Pushing more weight onto the she-wolf but still not digging his claws into her. Enough to cause a slight discomfort, and a little pain if that was her pain tolerance level. When those blue eyes looked back in confusion, he realized that she didn't. Was she too young? She had a sort of innocence about her, but he could tell she'd been through alot. And if she didn't know who her was she was definitely younger. Maybe 3 years old or even two. "Well since you don't seem to know, I am Kodak. Second in line for the throne..." He said, thinking that he was only second until Njord had pups, "...of the Eastern Mountain Pack. Son of the Alpha Delos. Who you all seem to know all to well" He said this with sarcasm, and with some authority, but in truth it was half hearted. But curiousity also procured in him. Who was she? She smelt like the enemy, but could she be a loner. "And who do I have the pleasure of meeting?" He said, shifting his weight a little to allow her to speak.

Inwardly, Lidiya tensed up quite a lot.

Son of the wolf that had started this war. Now that explained a lot. Including why he was out here - and how screwed of a position that she was in.

Great. Absolutely great.

She hadn't known when the war started. Sometime around her birth, probably. But that didn't change the fact she had been brought up around this, and that she should never mess with them - much less the alpha's son of the rival pack.

However, she tried her very best to not let it show on her face. Some of it must have slipped through, however - she didn't have the greatest grip on her expression, after all. Instead, she took stock of what she was doing. Pinned by the second in line for alpha.

"... And who am I, prince?" He had flexed his rank on her - she could say that, maybe to piss him off slightly, but "prince" sounded appropriate for how he had been acting. "Hmm. I guess you'll never know."

She gave Kodak a devilish grin, her intent clear in her eyes, before suddenly lunging forward from her previously prone position below him, attempting to free herself through the weak spot she had felt earlier - his balance was off, and had stayed off as she had been pinned. She could exploit by throwing herself up like a sack of wheat - okay, not really - pushing him further off balance, and enough for him to stumble slightly - off her.

"You'd better get going, prince. Before I call the rest of the pack over here." She shot another grin at him - but it still wasn't a happy one. Oh, it was still her devilish one that promised him what exactly she could do in her territory. "Off you go." She still had barely regained her footing, but she knew her words would have an impact - she wasn't actually in range of howling yet, but close enough that he'd have absolutley no idea if they were or not. So she took up her bluff, hoping it's work.

Kodak could see the change in emotion on her face. A glance or worry crossed, before a glance of thoughtfulness replaced it. She clearly hadn't known about him , and was therefore scared by the consequences of her actions. But then a smile formed on her face. As she spoke, anger swelled in him again. Mocking him? Then before he got a chance to speak, she shoved her whole weight into him and he was pushed off of her, stumbling for a bit before regaining his balance. At the thought of her pack showing up, he got a little scared, if they came and saw who he was, he'd get killed on the spot. But for some reason in the way she said it, he thought she was bluffing. Or at least that's what he was hoping. "Oh really huh? Princess?" He mocked, trying to get her ruled up. "My two buddies are waiting just beyond that treeline" He pointed with his tail, "what? You think I would come out here alone?" He was bluffing too. Although his face didn't show it. He had no clue where Hymir and Commodus were right now. "And I won't leave til I know your name." He said again, hoping his bluff would work. And for some reason that he did not know. He just hoped she would say prince again. Because when she said it, it just felt, you know, right.

Lidiya had no idea what was going through Kodak's mind, of course. All she knew is that she was definitely still alone out here, and there were potentially more wolves from his pack coming for her.

She breifly sighed, taking in his stance - damn it, he was properly balanced now - and realized they were at a standoff. He would go... but he wanted her name.

Now, that was what she was unsure about.

She shot him another grin though, careful not to let her uncertainty show, and instead a hint of bravado. It wouldn't be that bad, after all, even though if he called her bluff she had no idea what to do other than run - which would most definitely destroy her bluff.

Or, she could just give the prince what he wanted.

"You wanted my name, prince?" she questioned. Internally taking a breath, readying herself, although outwardly looking almost as if she didn't care, she kept going. "... It's Lidiya."

Somehow, that didn't feel as bad as she thought it would. So what if... Kodak... knew her name? It couldn't possibly be that bad. Her tone wasn't mocking, but more as if she was talking casually, and not painting a giant red target sign on her back.

"Now off you go, before I call the rest of my pack." There. Her bluff that stood on a house of cards that she had built had to work here. She just needed to get this male out of here, so she could get back.

She gave him a grin, and he admired the way she looked. She, he had to admit, was beautiful. The way her gray pelt blended with the white, and those eyes. He couldn't help but smile back. All he wanted to know was her name.
There she said it, prince. He smiled even more this time. The wayshe said it just mad ehim feel warm inside. Then she said it, at least he hoped that was her name. But Lidiya. That was a beautiful name. But of course they couldn't have a future. Even though he didn't really feel that way yet. She was a wolf form a different pack, the one who killed his father. So why did he feel this way? Maybe it was just because he didn't get enough sleep, maybe bad meet from the deer this morning. But he knew he just wasn't thinking straight. And the way at the end when she acted like she had her pack on speed-dial. He was pretty confident that her pack was far from here. I mean, she did as he asked, didn't fight it. If her pack was nearby, she wouldn't have hesitated in howling. And she seemed jumpy as his gaze rested on her. But she had given him her name. And shed said Prince again. As his golden eyes took in her figure for the last time, he gave a slight nod, his face growing into a grin saying, "As you wish, Lidiya." Then he gave a slight bow, and turned and began to make his way back to his territory.
...
He found Hymir and Commodus a little ways from where he started the chase. They were sitting together, talking in hushed tones. As they heard him approach they turned and had what seemed to be relieved expressions on their faces. "What?" He said, nearing them. "You seemed relieved." As he neared their sides they began to make their way back to camp. Commodus turned to him and said, "We didn't think you could take her." Thatn he and Hymir began to burst into laughter. Kodak just rolled his eyes and walked ahead. They didn't say another word until they were back in camp. But for some reason, the whole journey he couldnt keep his thoughts off of Lidiya.
...
Once back in camp, one of his brothers guards came to his side. His name was Ronan, a three year old light fallow with light brown eyes. As he neared his side, he said: "Alpha Njord would like to speak with you." Kodak rolled his eyes again, and responseded: "I'll talk to him later." But just as he finished his sentence, the garden replied. "He said now. This is urgent." Kodak sighed but realized arguing wasn't worth it. Everything was "urgent" with his brother. "Take me to him." Was all he could say, as the guard led him towards the Alpha's den.
Once inside Njord turned towards him, as if Kodak was interrupting something. "Kodak, my guards have informed me that you met a one of the enemy's wolves. Is this true?" Kodak sat down and nodded. "Just a female, seemed to be hunting, but I chased her off." Njord smiled at this and said. "Well they believe that she was a spy trying to make her way here. And I'm deciding to send a unit out towards that way." He said, and he must have looked confused because Njord added. "What is it?" "She definitely was not a spy." He said, his hair on the back of his neck rising. Njord spat at the ground. "Well I'm sending a unit later, and you're leading it. You are to kill any wolves you see, and try to take as much territory as you can." Kodak's hair stood up on end. "You can't be serious Njord!" He yelled, rising to his paws. "Even through your thick skull you know that!" E growled, Ronan and another guard entered. Ready to defend Njord. "Settle down Kodak, you know they deserve this anyway." Njord said, smiling menacingly. "And if you don't I'll throw you out. Like I should have done years ago." Then he nodded towards his guards, and they moved to force Kodak out. "Lay a claw on me and I'll Rip your throats out." Kodak growled, and they backed off more. But either way he had a crew to assemble, but even as he though of possible wolves, he wondered it he'd meet Lidiya on the way again. And for some reason, he hoped he would.

Lidiya watched the prince walk away as she just... kind of stood there.

Wondering if she should have said something else. Or done something else. Because there was their handsome prince just... walking away from her. She reluctantly turned away once he had dropped out of sight.

Not that she needed him to know she had been watching him as he walked away. Not in a predatory way, but... eh. Lidiya didn't think about it, and tried to banish the image of the handsome prince as she trotted back to the den sites.

Out of everyone that she had known, they had all painted an image of the pack "on the sother side of the ridge" as being the most blalantly wrong pack ever. But, even though she had barely talked to the other wolf, the prince... hadn't seemed like that. Kodak. She didn't even know why she referred to him as a prince. But she did anyway.

It wasn't until she had gotten back to the den site that she realized she had been too lost in her thoughts about Kodak and the other pack that she had gotten all the way here without realizing.

Kodak. He seemed like a rather nice male. Definitely better than a lot of the ones here. Honourable, at least. Better than her.

She stopped thinking about it, however, when a voice called out to her.

"Lidiya!" She frowned, then turned around to look for the source of the voice. She was quite solitary, so it was always quite a bit of a quprrize if somone actively wanted to speak to her.

It turned out to be Alycia. One of the few wolves she could actually have a conversation with.

"Alpha wants to talk to you," she said by way of greeting. "Something about you being away for too long?"

Lidiya frowned, then noding a wordless acknowledgement to her, set off to where she knew the alphas would doubtlessly be waiting for her.

~

"Lidiya, this is becoming unacceptable." Alpha Cooper scowled at her, every thread of dominance holding her in place as he continued. "You can't keep just wandering off like this. What if a wolf from across the ridge found you?"

They did, Lidiya wanted to say. Whose thoughts still hadn't changed too much from Kodak. They weren't that bad.

Alpha Cooper continued on, unknowing of what Lidiya was thinking. "And today you come in here looking like you were in a fight." He indicated with his muzzle a patch of fur and blood on her left shoulder - something she had completely missed earlier. "What exactly were you doing out there?"

Lidiya stayed silent. She knew better than to antagonize him.

"I get that you want to be all independent, but there are times where that's just not a thing. Like the pack over the ridge. It's unacceptable at this point." Cooper shook his head, in what, Lidiya couldn't tell. "Dismissed, and you can expect harsher consequences if you keep disappearing like this."

Lidiya hadn't said a word since entering the Alpha's den. She didn't say any either as she left the den.

Would she follow the Alpha's orders to stop wandering around?

... Not really. She told herself it was because it was her nature. That she didn't want everyone else to be supplying her food.

What she didn't tell herself was because her traitorous brain wanted to see Kodak again. Despite they were on completely opposite sides - Kodak had been... nice. And good-looking, if she was being honest with herself.

But she wasn't being honest with herself at the moment. Which meant all those thoughts were locked up in a little tratorous box in her head.

At least, she tried to lock them up.

As the night began to settle in on this nice autumn day, his thoughts were drawn to Lidiya once again. Sure, she was the enemy, but at the same time, she wasn't. She was beautiful and smart and, he didn't know. Why is he thinking about this? She was the enemy, and it had to stay that way. Tomorrow, he would be leading a group in to their territory, and possibly their camp. To kill. He was never worried on expeditions like this. But for some reason, he was scared. Scared if he saw Lidiya again. Because he knew what would happen if he did . He would have to kill her, or fave death himself. Then all of a sudden, he knew what he had to do.
He had to warn her.
That evening, he went around camp to recruit his wolves, while also planning a way to sneak into enemy pack territory and warn Lidiya. He always took Hymir and Commodus with him; they were his best friends and well, the best fighters in the pack besides himself of course. At least that's what he told himself. He also would bring Allen. A well respected fighter, he was gray with slate splashes and blue eyes. He came from a prestigious family, and was keeping up with the family name. He also recruited Dodona, a black female who was also a great fighter, and finally Covan. Covan was a youngster who needed expirence, bit was promising.
As he settled in his den at night, he would barely sleep a wink, thinking of his plan while also thinking of that beautiful she-wolf in the forest.

Unlike what Kodak was doing, Lidiya Went around doing her normal stuff - failing her little rabbit hunt earlier in tthe day, she went to the bison they had killed the other day, ate, want back, slept... the usual stuff.

It wasn't until morning, with her younger brother, Deverick, jumping around like the hyper juvenile he was, that Lidiya blearily opened her eyes, finally left the hole she slept in with her siblings, and looked around.

And shivered. Jeez, it was cold and slightly misty today. Not nice weather. Lidiya wanted to instantly go back and simply hide in the den.

But the choices were either go out and do something productive, or listen to her younger brother talk her ears off. She chose "do something productive." The only thing was, her definition of "productivity" was slightly different to everyone else's.

The mist obscured a lot of her vision as she wandered around, unintentionally wandering towards the frontier against the other pack. Because, really, the area away from the other pack was overused. The area around here was always underused as neither pack decided to try provoke the other.

While it wouldn't be "safe" at all, it was more or less just her as she wandered the area, looking around randomly for anything of interest. Maybe the rabbit burrow she was at the other day? She wasn't looking for anything in particular, but just for something that could be classified as "productive".

However, with this mist obscuring a lot of her vision, it wouldn't be that productive for her or anyone else.
