Night fell and Shadow slunk across the yard. Coming to the door, countless pup memories came through his mind. He nosed a small lock on the door, opening it before quietly running through the halls. "Hail! Where are you?" He quietly yipped.

Hail herd Shadow "Shadow! come to the biggest cage" she said in a panic hoping the humans didn't hear her

Shadow heard Hail and ran to the biggest cage. "Calm down. It's going to be fine." He said before looking at the lock. Simple locks, humans think we are dumb. He flattened his ears annoyed. Nudging the bolt up and around, he opened her cage before trotting towards the exit. "Hurry, before the humans wake up." He said quietly.

Hail nodded "but what about the other dogs" she said she didn't like leaving anyone behind so she quickley started to open cages and helped all of them out

Shadow turned, Number 32 mistake of my wolf life. He joked with himself before helping the dogs out. There was only one more cage when he heard footsteps and a human yell. He quickly undid the cage before leaping onto the human pinning him down. "Get out of here!" He barked at the dogs and Hail. Once most of the dogs got out, he jumped off the human before bolting towards the woods.

Hail grabbed a samll puppy by the scruff the only one left and bolted outo f the pound straight into the woods weaving throught the trees and into a cave she set the pup down and wrapped her tail around it making sure the humans don't go into the cave.

Shadow bolted into the woods hearing the humans come after him. Circling, he got the higher ground before letting out a savage growl. They turned and stood still but Shadow could see that they were trembling. He stepped closer so only his outline was seen. Growling, he let out a howl. The humans shot the gun but then ran. The bullet hit the tree beside him and he growled after them. Once they were gone, he followed Hail's scent to a cave. "Hail, they are gone. Come, we have to get out of here before they come back."

"ok but we have a little travler with us" she said showing the small pup and grabbed him by the scruff standing up

"Okay," He replied before starting through the forest. He made it to a small den, finding stale fox scent. Gesturing for her to go inside, he looked around once more before going inside. "This was my old den after I left the pack." He explained.

"Okay" she said muffling through the pups fur crawling insdie and settled the pup down and licked the pups head
