Alder | 4 | Nomadic Pack | Pack Member | Mentions: Open

In a small but very nice and cozy cave was a light brown wolf who continued to sleep. His ears twitched as he started to wake up from the tunes of songbirds. Five more minutes, he thought to himself before turning over and curling into a ball. His eyelids got heavy, and he drifted off into his dreams. He never really remembered any, it was probably about hunting or swimming; his two favorite things.

After about half an hour he finally had the energy to stretch out. His body was tense, so his bones started to crackle along his back, he let out a yawn as his vibrant green eyes revealed themselves. He shut them almost immediately as the sunrays blinded him. After his eyes finally adjusted to the outside the wolf finally got to his paws before stretching once again.

This wolf went by the name of Alder who was a few months past four years now. He had on his own for a while before finding Nomadic Pack only a few months ago. They had just traveled to another pack's territory; he didn't know how he felt about that, but he chose to just go with the flow. Alder's eyes closed once again and his head began to sag but as a Mockingbird played an unpleasant tune he growled as he muttered, "I'm awake, I'm awake." His eyes opened once again, and he forced himself to come out of the cave.

As he made his way out of the cave, he entered the camp, which was a forest clearing with large great oaks that filled the forest. He watched as a sparrow flew from a branch to a nearby nest. His stomach grumbled but he decided to wait for the others to wake up. He was surprised he of how empty it was, hardly anyone was awake. He always slept in but today was different despite him staying up last night. I guess he could thank the Mockingbird or maybe not, he missed sleeping in. With that he ventured over to a nearby stream, lapping the cold refreshing water, as it rehydrated his throat. It felt ever so astonishing as he went back to camp and started play with a leaf as he waited for the others to awaken. He fought the urge to retreat to his cave and enter the realm of dreams.

The large white wolf with a back covered in shades of brown was already wide awake. He heard sounds of shuffling across the forest as he went on his morning stroll. It felt rather long, but maybe it wasn't. His eyes saw nothing but darkness and sometimes it got a little lonely. Not knowing what anything looked like, just relying on his hearing, touch, and sense of smell but he had grown to accept it.

With that he brought his large black nose to the ground as he sniffed in the grass, he recognized this spot. He was almost there. In his den he fell short of his herbs. He usually smelled yarrow and poppy there, rather strongly but recently it became weak, that was a sign he needed more.

So, he followed the smell of the yarrow and poppy that he had grown to lack before he felt some herbs beneath his paws. He backed up to smell it, it smelled like chrysanthemums but felt very feathery. "Yarrow..." he muttered before he gathered a few in his maw. Eros then continued to walk along his normal route that he had been going on for quite some time now before gathering poppy seeds. It had a bitter-sweet, nutty smell to it which is how he identified it.

He knew now it was time to head back to camp, so he turned and headed towards the smell and chatter. His walk was rather careful, still not exactly familar, not knowing if he had rocks or roots that were trying to trip him. In his younger days he was a lot clumsier, not really knowing how to operate like this. He often got frustrated with it but now he was rather accepting of it and had calmed way down with his age. Eros walked closer and closer towards the familiar, strong smell and the growing volumes from chatter of others in the camp. Once he made it, he went into his den and stored the herbs where he had in the past.

He had a system, always the same route and he would always store his herbs the same exact way. If he didn't do it, he would probably get lost and mix up his herbs. Once he was done, he made his way out of his den and back towards all the chatter.

Ráðgríðr

F | Mountain Omega Pack | Mentions: Rin, Archeron, her brother

A young female lay resting. Her body curled up in a comfortable ball-like position, the only motion was the rise and fall of her chest as she breathed. Even her face seemed peaceful as she slept, it seemed she was numb to the world around her. It was actually good she was getting rest, late night flashbacks had plagued her mind in the extremely early hours of the morning. This led to her doing late night patrols, not necessarily far from where they were but in the general area to make sure nothing was creeping about while the pack tried to get some rest. If others were awake they would've seen the female pacing the borders and trying to collect herself.

The sun had fully risen before she had even gotten a wink of sleep. The beautiful sunrise had been a welcoming sight for her and had lulled her to sleep. However, as of now that beautiful slumber was cut short - no, disturbed by someone who had the audacity to make such a cacophonous ruckus. The female flicked her ears irritated and a slight curl of her lip revealed an glimmering fang, and she grumbled a little bit as she dug her claws into the soft earth. She shifted her face off her paws and onto the ground and kept her eyes shut and tried to ignore the noise as she was slowly waking up. She had almost went back to sleep when the sound of the commotion continued.

This time the female's eyes flew open, and she craned her neck to see where the commotion was coming from. And she rose to her feet, and as she moved, she felt a dull ache in her cranium and groaned. She hated when she got these headaches from not getting enough sleep. This meant she'd have to find some herbs later, and heaved an annoyed sigh as she moved on. An annoyed and unimpressed expression on her face as she moved to see where the noise came from. To her surprise she found two pack members and her brother. She calmed down immediately on seeing her brother, anyone in the pack knew if it had been anyone else they would've been getting an earful.

However she scowled as she watched the female lick her brothers snout. A look of disgust on her face, how dare she be so informal - so casual with him! Not to mention the unwanted contact, disgusting. She gave a small huff before, politely - more like passive-aggressively shouldering the female from her brother. A look of apathy on her face as she directly eyed the female as if saying back the fuck off without saying it. She assessed the situation : the broken branches, his bloody nose, and small amounts of scattered fur.

"Did the squirrel that hurt you seem diseased? You need to go to the lake and wash that bite - we can't have you getting sick, I will find some poppy seeds and for pain because it seems you took a fall...." and she thought for a second, " I will need some feverfew and yarrow for that wound and some oregano or sage just in case you get a fever." At this point she was rambling on about more herbs.

Her attention then snapped to Acheron and a scowl came across her face, "Why the hell are you staring at your Beta like that? Shouldn't you be asking him if he's alright or hurt, he just took a fall. Any fall, no matter how high should concern you. Stop staring at him like something is wrong with him and get on your damn paws and find out what you can do to help him."

Then looking at Ron she scowled saying, "And you, why would you give unnecessary contact to someone who is known to not like physical contact, especially when they seem to be off. He could've hurt you and it would've been your fault. Not to mention licking the blood off a wound could get you sick because you could've taken in bacteria. Now you'll need to get some hers just as a preventative measure." She grumbled annoyed.

She then looked at her brother a unimpressed look on her face, "And you, stop climbing trees and giving me a heart attacks. You'll make my fur grey early. Be more careful you knucklehead." And she gave him a playful nip, and it was clear it was meant to tease him.

Bǫlverkr
Omega Mountain || Beta || Male || Mentions: Acheron, Rin, Ráðgríðr

"The pain! The agony! I'm dying, I'm dying!" Bǫlverkr had always been a tad bit dramatic at times. Even now, the tall male lay curled on the ground, fussing over the idiotic squirrel latched onto his nose as his paws remained flailing in the air. A series of snarls escaped his throat, foam forming at the side of his mouth as he kept trying and trying to get the creature away from him.

Releasing a whine, the male's dark eyes snapped onto an approaching figure. "Acheron! Oh, Acheron, thank goodness. Get it off! Get it off!" Rolling onto his stomach, Bǫlverkr began crawling towards the other individual, the squirrel dragging on the ground alongside of him. "It won't release it's tiny latch one me and- Oh, don't look at me like that!" Snapping at the other male, Bǫlverkr released a hiss. "Kill it. Snap it in half. I hate it. I hope-"

A loud yowl was sounded as Acheron grabbed the squirrel, causing its grip to release in shock. His tongue lapped at his nose, his eyes staring at the creature being tossed against the tree. With a darkened look, Bǫlverkr shot up onto his paws, sprinting towards it with his mouth wide open. Teeth flashing, the beta almost, almost reached it, until the stupid thing woke up and sprinted up the tree, causing Bǫlverkr to skid until he finally stopped. Staring up the tree, he began to snarl and hiss as if throwing a tantrum. Spluttering, he eyed the tree, the squirrel staring down at him before it scurried away onto another tree.

"I can't feel my nose." He then began to mumble. "Acheron, is it still there?" Muzzle placed right in front of the other male's face, it was clear that Bǫlverkr had little boundaries put into place. Releasing a small whine, he stepped back, pawing at it. "I feel like it ripped right off." Muttering a series of curses under his breath, his tail thrashed behind him with frusteration.

"Be quiet!" He suddenly snapped, eyes widening before glancing at Acheron. "I didn't mean you." Naturally, Bǫlverkr meant the voice in his head. His little intrusive thoughts had returned before vanishing once more, causing him to inhale sharply. Composing himself, he straightened up, shaking out his pelt as his tongue hung from his mouth in a series of pants. "Thanks, pal." Truly, if Acheron didn't come, Bǫlverkr feared the damned squirrel would never release it's grip on his poor, innocent nose. All he was trying to do was eat it. He didn't expect it to fight back. Bested by a squirrel, he'll never live it down!

Releasing a tsk, Bǫlverkr's eyes widened when the form of Rin appeared, taking a step back when she approached. What was this? Did she see it all as well? Was he truly that loud? How foolish was he. How humiliating. "Did the others hear me?" He asked, only to silence when Rin began to clean his little cut. "Is my nose still there?" He asked her as well, wanting another opinion before fully shutting down. Remaining still at the contact, Bǫlverkr didn't breath nor blink, simply stood frozen like a statue.

He never was good with physical touch, compliments of his past, he supposed. Thus, upon contact, he did little to move away, simply remain standing, teetering around.

"How pathetic you are. How useless."

Ah, the voices had returned, the sound a constant masculine tone that pounded against his temple. He hadn't even noticed his sister approach. Hadn't noticed her presence until moments later, where his eyes slowly grazed over to her. Just like that, Bǫlverkr began to snap back from his thoughts. "When did you get here?" He asked Ráðgríðr before his eyes narrowed as she assessed the scene. "A squirrel and I had a fight. The squirrel won." Updating her, he scowled when she began to ramble on about the wound. If she saw him rolling his eyes, she didn't say anything.

"Yeah, yeah, I know." One would think that she was the eldest sibling from the way she mothered him. Releasing a deep sigh, he mocked her from behind her back like a child would before growing more stern. "I'm fine now, thanks to Acheron. Besides, he has the right to look at me like that, I did fall off a tree and get bested by a squirrel." Defending the other male for a moment, it was the least Bǫlverkr could do for helping him.

Eyes snapping onto his sister, he nudged her with his paw before his eyes widening, now being the one ridiculed after Rin. He couldn't even get a word in from how his sister blabbered on. "Take a breath!" He snapped, now in a small sibling spar before snorting. "The squirrel was annoying, I was trying to fix that, and who are you calling names, huh?" Releasing a small yelp when she reached forward to nip him, he jumped back.

"Kill her."

Releasing a growl, he seemed to become slightly aggressive in response to the voice. He didn't further explain, knowing his sister and the others already understood, even the slightest. Shaking his head, he released a puff of breath.

"None of this ever happened. You never saw me fall or the squirrel dangling from my nose."

Acheron

Male | Omega Pack | Pack Member | Mentions: Bolverkr, Ráðgríðr, Rin .

The agony!

....The agony of watching his friend get bested immediately by a furry little creature that must’ve been smaller than his muzzle. So strong he was, so brave.... At least, when he came to standing up to mammals that weren’t of that size.

As the squirrel was pulled quickly off of the already-bitten nose, his gaze followed him as he bounded off after the sleeping prince on the ground. Ache moved to step over as well, until the brave mammal up and deserted them from the safety of the tree branches. The cute little thing probably knew that the canine couldn’t climb up.... After all, it had gotten a bird’s eye view of what had unfortunately happened the last time. Poor Bolverkr.

Acheron couldn’t really help but smile to himself at he watched the strong male’s attempt to better the situation by putting an end to the furry little life. Now, Acheron could’ve also sprinted up after it and very likely taken it down, but he chose to hand it off to the strong, brave, 'Beta' in question.... And he also sort of wanted to see if they’d have any future brawls. The rodent would win, no doubt. As the male watched him throw a temper-tantrum at the base of the tree, senses had not yet alerted him of the upcoming presences.

Part of the sly brute wanted to tell him that no, it wasn’t still there, and that the little squirrel must’ve taken it away to his nest where little squirrel babies would be chowing down on the poor little nose, but he decided that the unfortunate Bol had had more than enough agony, for the day. Well.... More like for the hour. “Yes, pal....” He sighed out softly, staring into his very-close eyes as the two were now basically muzzle-to-muzzle. “Unfortunately, it is still there.” He teased, giving the other male a little shove with his own muzzle into his neck. He looked around at the wound, as a small drop of blood slowly dropped down the length of it. Eh, he’d be fine.... The two of them were already covered in scars from battered days anyways, what more was one?

“You’re fine, the scar will add character if it stays.” He told him with a small nod, shaking out his pelt before turning his head towards the two girls on their way. “And you’re welcome. Just.... Try not to go for any more vicious little beasts.” He scoffed, holding his own sort of hatred for little prey. But like just proven, they still definitely had their redeeming moments. “Ask for my help, next time.” He shook his head as he watched the female approach, a little bit of subtle amusement on his features as he watched him lick the unsuspecting beast. The male was obviously a bit uncomfortable by this, but it wouldn’t go on for too long.... Sister approaching.

He took a little step back as he listened to her insistent, utterly irritating and intolerable rambling. Blah blah, this and that about protecting her older brother who did not even need protection. Well.... Maybe he did, as just proven even further, but not by her. He scoffed, some. That was, until the lectures were soon turned onto him. As if she had the damn right!

Shouldn’t ladies look pretty, anyways....? She scowled too fucking much.

“Back the hell off, Rag. You obviously weren't here quick enough to help him, and now you’re blaming me for doing it? He can more than handle himself.... He definitely doesn’t need you for that.” He lightly batted her upper side with his fore-paw as he rolled his eyes. “You aren’t the beta.”

He then glanced steadily over at Bolverkr as he started to defend him, giving him a bit of an appreciative nod. However , he had this female under control.... Damn females.. Always starting trouble.

He hadn’t gotten to reply to the other female’s comment, not that he necessarily wanted to talk to any more wolves than he really had to.... Especially not ones who were always so damn friendly and positive.

It was one of the reasons why he admired Ráðgríðr, but the negatives almost outweighed the positives of her character. He gave her a little huff, and he shook his head.

“I did see it, and I hope to remember it, Bol.... But I won’t tell anyone.” He gave him a little wink. Maybe he could keep that promise. Just maybe.... It was just very tempting to go off and tell the pack how he lost a battle with a squirrel.

“Just go and.... Stick it in the snow.” He said, left ear twitching a bit as he gestured to his slightly- bleeding nose.

Rin

Omega Mountain || Pack member || Female || Mentions: Acheron, Bolverkr, Ráðgríðr

Rin stumbled a bit as she was shoved aside by the larger female. Still she hardly reacted, brushing it off. Rin still looked at Bolverkr, a small tired smile still on her features. "Yes, like Acheron said. You just have a little scratch, and you weren't too loud, I was just in the area." She murmered, ignoring the looks of the angry wolves around her.

She opened her mouth to comfort the male again but Ráðgríðr suddenly turned towards her, angry and annoyed. Rin's eyes widened at her words, oh had she crossed some sort of boundary, She looked over at Bolverkr. "Sorry Bolverkr, I thought it would calm you from the ordeel. My mother used to do the same with me, and I to my sisters" She turned to Ráðgríðr again, head tipped slightly. "Oh hmm, your right. I'll get checked in camp" She offered, maybe she could calm the female down a bit. Especially since Acheron seemed heated.

Rin turned once again toward Bolverkr, a small gleam in her tired eyes. "Of course, not a soul" She answered after Acheron.

...
Ash opened her eyes slowly, her small form shaking with fright, It was gone, it was gone, It wasn't real, nothing to be scared of. The red that had burned around her had dissapeared and she was once again in the territory she knew so well. Birds chirped around her and voices could be heard close by.
...
She knew she shouldn't have let herself get worked up like that, every time she did the hallucinations came, sometimes it was fire, sometimes it was her Mum or her old pack, anything that her mind could use against her, to make her scared, to make her weak. Ash thought that it was basically her nightmares and dreams brought into her waking hours, like she could never escape them, awake or asleep and it drove her mad.
...
Ash crept slowly and delicately towards the voices she heard before her. She came across the group and from what she could hear managed to figure out that one of them, Bolverkr she thought, had been mauled by a squirrel. Ash grinned at this, and imagined the beta being atacked by his own prey. Grimacing at the though of being discovered, the nervous female slipped behind a large tree, her slender form making it hide her completely. She definately wouldn't enjoy a morning chat with Rag and Ache.

Larkspur || Mountain Pack || Member || M: Open

The pack was quickly coming to life. As the sun stretched tentatively across the area before her, the tawny female allowed it to touch the tips of her paws. The night had been chilly and, though she had slept comfortably, it was not her favorite feeling to wake up feeling colder than the stone beneath her. So, Larkspur had set herself in the path of oncoming sunlight.

The ringing in her ears had become a frequent irritation as of late, but today it didn't seem as bad -- or perhaps she was just getting used to it. Voices were drowned out by the high pitched hum, but she could see her packmates' mouths moving. Ah, well, at least she wasn't completely deaf. Sure, that would happen eventually, but Larkspur had enough of an ear left that she was confident her hearing would remain for years yet.

She pawed at an old, shattered leg bone lying nearby and sighed, watching it with some wariness. Larkspur would touch it, yes, but eating it... Even gnawing on it could have fairly grave consequences, and she wasn't ready to incapacitate herself. Her pack needed her well enough to hunt and destroy her throat later. A snack now wasn't worth the ache that would follow.

Using a back paw to kick the bone away, Larkspur rested her head on her paws and went back to people watching.

The she-wolf's ears flicked as the sound of the pup's paws carried over to her, causing her eye to peel open to peak at him. A soft smile stretched over her muzzle, and she lifted her head as she opened her second eye. Gently she reached out and nuzzled him gently, licking his forehead in adoration.

"Good Morning, Aesir," she murmured softly and shifted a bit so she more so facing him. Gently her tail flicked to cover her hind legs and she tucked her pad paw against her chest. "How are you this morning? Did you sleep well?" Her head tilted a bit to the side as she studied him for a moment, making sure that her earlier assessment was correct and that he was indeed okay.

F | Mountain Omega Pack | Mentions: Rin, Archeron, her brother

The female was livid to say the least. How dare this arrogant bastard speak on what he didn't know. An audible growl came from her maw as she eyes Archeron with a fiery hatred. He had struck a deep nerve within her, little to none of the pack knew how she got her scars or how her brother got his. She swished her tail angrily trying to calm down her thoughts.

He doesn't know what we went through, don't be harsh but don't be too soft, she rationally thought. She was about to open her mouth to calmly speak when he said she was too late and he was there when she couldn't be. That statement broke her and she completely froze, a moment of hurt, resentment, and guilt washed over her features but then one of complete fury.

"Not their quick enough? Are you shitting me right now?" she seethed, "how dare you, you bastard - you fucking bastard." every tone in her voice indicated pure fury - this wasn't like her apathetic or brash comments, she was actually angry and worked up. A rare side of her, "How dare you act like you know me, my past. Do know how my father used to be..." silence came before a scornful look came across her face before she looked off, "I have scars for a reason and so does my brother, not for some silly reason like a squirrel but they were inflicted. Don't you ever say I wasn't there quick enough for my brother, you don't know shit." She said this time a bit quieter but coldly in a bitter tone and then he mentioned her brother being the beta and she scoffed, "I don't give a rats ass if he's the Beta, he's my brother before anything. Anyone or anything that that hurts him gets eliminated- I know he'd do it for me because he's done it before and I'd did it for him and I'd do it again. So let me be clear - you don't know about me , you haven't seen me break down only my brother has, so spare me the lecture punk, you don't know pain until you've sparred until you dropped and couldn't refuse it , until you've had to go a week hungry because you were unsuccessful because of a hunt, or stay inside a hole or some other creative punishment. So don't push me, ever again." And she took a deep breath after hearing her brother speak.

A glazed expression crossed her face - she was exhausted and she sat down and laid down. She closed her eyes to the voices around her. She just wanted to sleep and these fuckers were being too noisy.
