Lux | Female | RR | Team Dog | Mentions : RR Team, Zelda, Reese ... She was running. Through the cold icy winds, all the air pushing against her face. She felt free. She wanted to jump up dash away, but she couldn't. She was a part of a team. Responsibilities. Something she despised. She loved running, it was exhilarating! Luxi had ran since she was a pup, her and her siblings. It felt natural. All her life she had heard about some big important dog that her family was supposed to take after. Sledding was not her thing though. Of course she'd never stop doing it, it was tolerable and rewarding, but the whole 'follow my orders' thing didn't fit. Zelda was an exception, she was wonderful. Not super bossy or anything. Lux ears perked as she heard Zeldas bark, smiling at the irony. She was almost there. Her head turned to Reese, a team dog just a year older. "You ready to start some mayhem?"

Zelda|F|Retro Rebels|Lead Dog|Mentions: Team, Nathaniel
As the team neared Ruby, she heard Nathaniel behind them. "Whoa!" That meant slow and the female glances sideways at Timor, or Tim as she called him, for a brief second. Before Zelda started to slow. She was careful not to slow down to much so she didn't trip the dog behind her and cause an issue among the team. She lets out another bark, they were there! They would rest for a while and then they'd be back on the trail headed for Galena. But for now, it was time for the team to take a break. She could hear two other teams near by. If her memory served her correctly, it was the Quicksilver Fighters and the Ghost Legends.
Reese|F|Retro Rebels|Team Dog|Mentions: Nathaniel, Zelda, Lux
As the lights of the town got closer, she heard the musher call out. He wanted them to slow down. Already she could see the lead dog, Zelda starting to slow. That in turn would signal the rest of the team to slow and so Reese starts to slow slightly, though not to much. She turns her head towards Lux slightly, tongue hanging out of her mouth. "Are you kidding? I'm always ready to start some mayhem." Another thing she loved to do beside racing.. Cause mischief and mayhem whenever and wherever she could. She was smart, she didn't let herself be caught or cornered. She knew better than that. Some dogs didn't like it and could go to far, but Reese was careful about how she did things.
Danica|F|Retro Rebels|Wheel Dog|Mentions: Team, Nathaniel, RR Wheel Dogs
Paws thud against the ground as Danica continues forward. Basil beside her and Sparta and Chinook behind them. And then behind Sparta and Chinook was the sled that held their musher. He was leaning over the sled, trying to see through the steadily falling snow. The yellow lights of Ruby easily pierced the snow, since it wasn't falling that heavy, and so there wasn't much issue for Nathaniel when he called out for the team to slow a few seconds later. Danica's eyes narrow as she focuses, digging her paws in a little to help slow down. As one of the wheel dogs, their job was to carry the heavy weight of the sled. They were the muscle of the team, and helped pull the sled up hills.

Lux | Female | RR | Team Dog | Mentions : RR Team,Reese ... Lux let out a chuckling huff of air at Reese's response. She smiled and shook her head a bit, loosening the icy bits on her fur. "Sounds like a plan then." The Team started to slow, as did she. Catching her breath through a grin, Lux slowed her pace, hanging her head down a bit. As much as she adored causing some trouble, she knew Reese did too. Having them on the same team was just asking for trouble! Nevertheless right next to eachother. Of course she'd still have to focus to win the race and all but she could have some fun too right? ... She raised her head and surveyed her surroundings. The town of Ruby. It wasn't like she had expected. Lux had heard it was a large village, bustling with fishers and people. It was small and lonely, few houses or people. Luxi knew it'd be a bit different from the stories, something about the water and some kind of fire. ... (Couldn't help but add a bit of history info)

Marlen| Female | Retro Rebels| Swing Dog| Siberian Husky| Mentions: Retro Rebels (indirectly) , Reese and Lux (directly) + Open The breeze caught her attention for a bit but she returned to concentrate on helping the sled turn. She breathed in and ott it embracing the sound of thundering paws and the jangle of metal on the harnesses . Lux spoke to Reese about raising mayhem and she gave the young dog a look that said "Dint you dare." She didn't want the team to loose and especially thanks to a young dog who had the privilege to be racing at such a young age. She would of dreamed to be racing at this level at her age She gave the same look to Reese and then carried on . She followed the signal of Zelda and the call of Nathaniel to slow. She gently started slowing like the rest of the dogs. Carefully checking behind her to see if a wheel dog was behind her because they didn't listen or they didn't hear. Was it time for a break already? Marlen thought, she had a huge rush of adrenaline and usually rest made it go down, at least it made her catch her breath and rest her energy for later.
Sparta| Male| Retro Rebels| Wheel Dog| Wolf X Malmute (Wolfamute) | Mentions: Retro Rebel Dogs especially the Wheel Dogs and Marlen + Open Sparta barked as they raced off into the race. Soon they were slowing down due to a command by musher and lead dog. He saw the swing dog, Marlen look behind her and sighed. Why be careful . Be fast, be furious He thought excitedly , adrenaline was pumping through his muscular body. Rests meant possible hunting , freedom for a bit, and rest . Nathaniel the musher called the command again just make sure. Sparta slowed feeling the weight of the sled more now. Luckily he had his teammates with him so they could help. He chuckled to himself and barked excitedly in anticipation of the thought of rest. He barked to let the world know he wa s there and he barked friendly at his friends , not caring if they saw him as an annoying wheel dog and not as a friend that they could trust and to be loyal. He didn't mind , lots of dogs and people didn't trust him because he was half wolf. His mother and his father would be proud but he could barely remember them anymore. Yaktag Quicksilver Fighters | Male | Wheel Dog | Mentions: QS Dogs, Yoko [NPC], Open
Paws thudded into the ground in an almost rythmic fashion, playing a melody into the male's ears. True to his reserved nature, no emotion flickered across the red and white dog's face. His jaws were parted slightly, tongue lolled out to the side, but they weren't parted in joy and anything else either. Instead he just ran, the feeling of the harness pulling at his body a familiar comfort to him. He had grown used to the pressure and the weight of the sled attached to the line that connected him to the other dogs on their team. Now the gentle tug and pull was nothing more than a comforting familiarity that he basically relished in.
His ears flicked as their musher called for the dogs to slow a bit as they drew closer to their next stop, the town of Ruby. He shifted his pace to match the pace set by the lead dogs, his eyes drawn to the lights of the town as it came into view. It was always a minor relief when the sight of the next town came into view, as it meant that all of them had made it a bit further.
He glanced at the male beside him, a dog named Yoko who he was quite familiar and accustomed to by now. He had no issues with the other dog so long as he did his job, and, overall, Yoko was rather dependable as a partner. However, he watched as the male's paws tripped up a moment as he tried to change pace. Instinctively Yaktag braced and pulled a bit to the side, using the harness attachments to help keep his partner from completely falling over, and allowing him to regain his compsure once more.
"Thanks, Yak," the male's grateful words were panted out, and the malamute merely nodded in response. It happened sometimes, he wasn't going to hold it against the male, and it hadn't caused any harm to any. It was unlikely anyone would even notice the slight falter.

Zelda|F|Retro Rebels|Lead Dog|Mentions: Team, Nathaniel
As the team entered the town, the trail was marked by ropes and fences that kept any pedestrians off the trail. There was also security and other staff mingling around. There weren't many pedestrians around and the others were locals. Zelda's tongue hangs out as the team moves at a walk towards the resting area. There Nathaniel would unharness everyone and set up to rest. He would probably feed them and take the booties off everyone for a little bit. Let fresh air blow through, though no doubt he'd replace the booties before everyone settled down for the night.
Reese|F|Retro Rebels|Team Dog|Mentions: Nathaniel, Zelda, Lux, Marlen
A grin flashes across the red and white husky's face,"Of course." She would love to cause some mischief, but she knew her boundaries, especially when it came to races like this. She wouldn't do anything that bad. As Zelda slows down to a walk, the rest of the team follows the lead dogs example, and so Reese too slows to a walk. Reese returns Marlen look, her lips curling back slightly. She didn't like the look Marlen had given her. Marlen wasn't the boss of her or Lux and the two could do whatever they wanted. Especially if it did no harm to anyone, which was never Reese's intention. Reese calms her rising temper and simply turns her gaze a different direction, studying the town as they neared the rest area.

Ares|M|Retro Rebels|Swing dog|m:Zelda, sparta, lux, marlen,Kokanee Ares's tail whipped the air in excitement, snow piled out before him, and it took all his will power not to just roll all in it. Ares caught the sight of his fellow swing dog Kokanee struggling to fix himself, Ares slowed at the musher's command gently nosing the now nervous swing dog next to him trying to comfort them in the only way he could at the moment. "You won't mess anything up Kokanee, you worry to much." Ares offered soft words to the male, Ares didn't know him very well but he wanted to make sure the swing dog felt safe enough to come to Ares. He turned his focus back to the front of the team listening for the musher's commands slowing down to a walk as they entered the town, A soft whimper left Ares at the sight of a rabbit in a cage, he glanced at Zelda and pushed against Kokanee hoping to get to it.

Sedona || Female || Ghost Legends Lead Dog || M: GL Dogs, Hope Kennard Ah, lights at last! Coming up over the ridge, the warm glow of Ruby invited her and the others into its embrace. While Sedona did not care much for civilization as a general rule of thumb, she certainly didn't mind the rest stops. As Hope called out commands to slow, Sedona shortened her strides to match Miska's. The two other teams didn't bother her; they would all reach Ruby at about the same time, and everyone else would presumably be stopping there as well. They were in no rush -- an odd thing to think while racing, but true for now. She blinked hard as a particularly fat snowflake landed squarely in her eye. Was it snowing? How long had it been snowing? For what duration of the race had she completely zoned out? Sedona furrowed her brows and resisted the urge to shake; she needed to get her head back in the game. Her team counted on her, and here she was, having forgotten countless miles of happenings. It wasn't safe, for one thing. "I really need a break," she muttered, more to herself than those around her, but she figured it would be clear enough from her actions that it was true.

Marlen| Female | Retro Rebels| Swing Dog| Siberian Husky| Mentions: Retro Rebels (indirectly) , Reese and Lux (directly) + OPEN TO ALL Marlen trotted alongside the others before apologizing to Reese "My apologizes, don't want to get this wrong on the first bit of the race, just a bit up tight " She say quietly to both of the dogs. She then turned to Storm who had been was placed beside Spike in the Team dogs group . She watched as his muscles flexed as he strongly trotted beside her. He spotted her looking and smiled. Marlen quickly looked away to stop herself from grinning like a fool. It didn't stop tkt though. She carried on head down trying not to look at the handsome male behind her. She had flashes of images of little puppies but that she scolded herself and as she was thinking about Storm, she had lost her balance, no one would come get her so she tried to regain her balance snd manage it , only slightly twinging her paw as the Retro Rebels slowed down to a quick walk or some a gentle stroll walk. Kokanee | Male | Swing dog | Retro Rebels | RR team (indirectly), Ares, Marlen, OPEN Kokanee shakes off the words of the other canine, shooting Ares a death glare. He just didn't like anyone showing sympathy- oh well.. talking to him period. "Well, maybe if you were quiet, we'd all be better off." The swing dog snaps quietly, now only to a quick trot. He has been doing this quite a while, and has no problem looking away from the dogs in front of him to snap at someone else. A both good and bad thing, I guess. . Kona hears Marlen's quiet words, snorting. As if. He, by now, had steadied himself out and no longer held that nervous energy that seemed to cling to his snow dusted fur. Now each step was light and bouncy. The canine was quite glad that his pads were used to this wear and tear by now, or else he wouldn't been able to keep a steady stride such as this. Or even wear those boots they make the newbies wear. He doesn't hate them, just feels like they mess with his.. 'look'. As the town nears quickly, he makes sure to keep his head held high and proud, even if he did have a hiccup a bit earlier in the race. Hell, he may have already forgotten that he had done that- now, he just wants to look good in front of the other teams.
