Apartheid "Appa" || F || Sub || M: Greta, Monty, others.

The ground was warm with body heat. Small ivory claws dug into the earth, kneading it. The white doberman looking canine stretched, their rump towards the sky. There was a yawn that came from the scarred maw of the female. She shocked her body into relaxation, the occassional bit of dirt flying from her pelt. Her paws and underbelly were dusted a brown coloration. Her eyes were large and a cloudy blue color. The shapes of the other moved in various shades of gray. Her ears twitched at the sound of Greta speaking. She shook her head once more, the tickle of a bug or dist invading her ear. Her skin made a flopping sound as it hit itself. Rolling her shoulders she nosed the air ahead of her.

So far the majority have awoken. Her stomach gave a high pitched squeal and her nub of a tail twitched. She'd stopped herself from trying to tuck it. Nothing to be ashamed of, she thought to herself. She suddenly caught scent of a putrid, acidic smell. It was nervousness. To her, it smelled of spoiled lemon tarts. It then hit her that today were the trials. Her head shifted down slightly, yet she continued, making her way towards one of the newer scents in the pack. His name was Monty, if she was correct. She hadn't gotten to know him very well. Once she assumed she was near him, she gave a sniff. Yep. It was definitely him. She took a cautious seat next to him, joking she wasn't treading on his tail if he had one.

Moon | F | Healer | M: Open
Moon looked over at Monty. She could smell the nervousness on his pelt.
"Come on, let's go to my mattress and get you evaluated," she said gently to the dog.
She wished she had a better place for healing, but all she could find was a mattress beneath some rusty metal lean-to siding. She had ripped out some of the stuffing of the mattress and laid it out like bedding, and had stowed away some herbs and sticks under an old door.
She had gathered the herbs from her owners garden, slowly collecting them over the years until she had an extensive, diverse selection of some of the best herbs. One of the main reasons she completely made up her mind about joining the Pack was because of how kind they were, and how they worked as a team, and how willing to help they were.
She hoped that her herbs hadn't been stolen in the night by those hideous mongrels they call raccoons. They had already eaten through some of her dandelion and juniper berries. They had even gotten their grimy little paws on some of her sticks last night! Drat them, she thought, panting.

TexasSubC:Shep.
He got bored and hoped through the car's broken window and landed with a thud. He walked back up the river, where he caught a familiar scent. He realized that it was Shep's. His tail wagged at the thought of her. He followed the smell.
He followed the smell through the junkyard, till he seen her talking to the scout. he was debating on wether or not he should go up and talk to her. While he was debating, he smelled a rabbit and his mouth started to water at the thought of it. It had been a while since he had last ate a rabbit. He ignored the thought and swollowed his spit.
He decided on going to talk to her. He walked up to her and said "Hey Shep." and nodded his head to the scout. He tried his best to make sure his tail wasn't wagging. "Hot weather we're having." he sayed trying to start a conversation. He's never been the best at conversations, or being social. But he was learning.

Nodita | Female | Beta | M; Greta, Varn
It was long past her bedtime when Nodita had risen from her den; a decently sized gap between the construction of the building that provided her with enough shelter to sleep comfortably. Her body groaned in protest, her mind having little less than a couple hours of sleep before the desperation of a mother looking over starving pups ruined her rest. The truth was, Nodita took the packs starvation horribly, and in the past few days had taken a horrible weight upon her head.
Nodita slipped from the ruins of the building, climbing upon the debris so as not to alert her alpha that she was moving. Breathing a soft huff of air, Nodita quietly scaled-down the ruins and followed them to find her son, resting in the open with a fabric scrap between his jaws while he slept. Careful not to disturb the pup, Nodita joined her pup, laying herself down at his side and gently resting her head over his. She could feel his ribs pressing against hers, an eerie and heart-sinking feeling that she attempted to ignore while she wasted the night murmuring stories to her son until her body finally was allowed rest.
----
"Mom," Varn growled, his muzzle pressing into the female's cheek. It wasn't until he gave a quick nip to his mother's ear that the female was wide awake. With a low snarl, Nodita rose and looked up at her son, baring her fangs in a warning. Varn took the hint and bowed down, tucking his tail in and lowering his head. "I had to get you up, Alpha has been looking for you, and you were going to sleep through the trials!" He huffed, shaking his pelt to defuse his mothers anger.
Nodita rose once more, her gaze rising towards the burning sun above them, Rolling her shoulders, Nodita breathed a huff of air. "Don't do that again," She warned her son ominously, knowing he had only done it in her interest. Regardless, the pack should know she doesn't tolerate such behavior. Nodita quickly rushed herself to her alpha's side. "Pardon me," She huffed softly, "FInally got a good rest and slept in," She grunted. "Won't happen again," She added, her gaze shifting to the junkyard.

Shep|F|3.5|Sub-Ordinate|M: Texas
Shep listened to the birds today. Although it was hot and humid, they still were as lively as they were in the ending of snow. Shep closed her eyes, listening to the bird's songs. She could hear the river in the distance. She then heard a voice. She opened her eyes and it was Texas. Shep replied, "Hello. Yeah, this is pretty humid. Others may have trouble with this weather today." She twitched her tail and said, "I don't plan on moving up but if I do, that means I'm good enough for the job. Although I don't really want to move up. I like my spot. What about you? Do you plan to move up?" Shep asked, now curious. Her blue eyes watched the dog in front of her. She watched a few birds in the trees. They were singing their songs still. Shep liked that. It was soothing and made her think of her days as a pup on her farm with her mother and brothers. It then brought her back to when she ventured too far into the city. Shep looked back at Texas. In her mind, she was still sad but on the outside, she showed her happiness so others wouldn't have to worry about her.

Texas/Sub/M: Shep
I agree on the hot weather, but I don't mind it to much. And I'm not sure, neither do I care about moving up." He replied with a shrug. He never really thought about it, he was just getting more worried about the city and how it was starting to fall a part more. "What are you going to try out in?" He asked. "I think I'm going for swimming or fighting. I think you would be good in scouting, running, or something like that." Texas added trying to keep the conversation up for abit. He didn't like to talk that much, but for some reason he always enjoyed talking to Shep. It always felt weird to him, but he ignored it. He looked around at his surroundings. He noticed that the birds were singing, but didn't pay much attention to them, except for the fact that they could sing beautiful songs. And that it was a real pretty day, besides the rising river and temperatures.

Breeze / 6 / Female / Scout

Breeze listened to her Alpha, liking the way that she led, not letting her fears get to her on the day of the trails. A band of wolves would barely be able to take her down, she thought. Breeze nodded to Greta, munching slowly on her rabbit, pondering her thoughts. Then she padded over to the edge of the junkyard, her senses alert and her posture dominant as she approached the edge of the yard. Despite the mood of the camp she was actually quite looking forward to the trials. They were always the highlight of the season for her, Scouting being one of the hardest roles to win over. She waited for any other dogs to join before she sat down, her tail brushing the dust as she thumped it a few times. Shep came over and she shrugged in regards to the female’s question before seeing Texas come over. Listening to the conversation the young ones were having, she smiled and remembered her younger days.

Watching the camp she sighed deeply and readied her senses for the trial ahead. Butterflies hassled her stomach but she had learned to control that, her leadership and skills pushing them away. She settled her nerves and focused on the junkyard around her. Using all of her senses and controlling them had definitely become one of her strengths as Scout, something that teh other dogs wouldn't have...

Niko • Male • Sub • M: Greta, Riot
~
Niko nodded mutely in response, his tail twitching. He did meet Greta's unwavering stare, though. "..Okay," He replied to Riot. "I'll spar with Greta, then." He figured Greta could be easier to handle than Nodita, who was much larger. However, he knew perfectly well Greta could certainly pack a punch. It was no secret she was the alpha for a reason. His head barely reached Greta's shoulder, but it was better than being full-on dwarfed. "Good luck with your sparring, Riot." Niko tripped over his words, so it sounded like 'Luck good sparring, Riot.' He groaned inwardly and made quick work to stand and shuffle away.
He made his way to the center of the junkyard, picking his way through assorted and unwanted things. His ears were pricked and he surveyed the land critically for possible advantages. He made sure he was stepping in every piece of ground that appeared as though it might be muddy, so he wouldn't step in it while sparring. As he traveled further towards the middle, he began recovering his usual confidence from the tripping over words incident. His head was held high, his tail curled tightly towards his left. Even if he lost some spars for the trials, he was determined not to be last.
