It's only been a week since Quinn moved to a new town, and she was adjusting pretty well. The life she lived before was something she desperately needed to get away from. Her real family hated her, except for her sister, so she found comfort in one of her biological father's best friends. They stopped being friends once he took Quinn in, but quite frankly, it was for the better. Jayce, Quinn's adoptive father, took her in as his own when she was only 11. He saw Quinn grow up, and had always wanted a daughter, but was unfortunate with all of his relationships. 3 months ago, Jayce unfortunately passed away, and Quinn couldn't live in his house anymore. It felt so empty without him, and she didn't have anybody else. Her new house was small, and secluded, perfect for Quinn. It was a bit away from all the fun places in town, but she liked being away from anyone else. She didn't have any noisy neighbors, which was amazing but it still was pretty lonely. ' After being up most of the night from tossing and turning, she decided to stay awake once the clock his 8 am. Scrolling on her phone, she searched up all the little shops and places further in town. A tattoo shop caught her eye, she groaned when she saw that it wasn't open until 12 pm. "Shit." She muttered, turning off her phone and staring up at her ceiling. Being impatient, she was annoyed that she'd have to wait 4 more hours. She also could be waiting for nothing if they don't take walk-ins, but she'd have to wait 4 hours to book something anyway. She had the money and the time, so what else was she going to do? Getting a tattoo seemed fun and spontaneous, plus it would maybe help her get her mind off of Jayce. He was on her mind almost 24/7, it was hard, but it was getting better. |

Sitting outside of a rather small shop, sat a pretty heavily tattooed women. She was smoking a joint and getting high before work. Leaning on the side rail, she let the cigarette hang from her mouth, sighing heavily from her nose. Just as she was about to head back inside, she heard some footsteps behind her. Turning her head, she noticed one of her friends and colleagues, Vanessa. "Getting high before work again?" She said in a mocking tone. "Fuck off.. I had a shit night.." She grumbled, earning a small chuckle from her friend. "You really are a shit head, huh Alex." Groaning, Alex put out the cigarette and stood up straight. "The store is going to open soon. Let's head in." She said as she dragged her body into the building. It was styled with nude and abstract paintings and pictures. The walls where a light tone of grey and the wooden floor looked a bit runned down but it gave the place some character. After walking into her room which was her work area, she began cleaning and working on sterilizing all of her equipment that she forgot to the day before. Hours passed and Alex just finished cleaning. She let out a heavy sigh, thinking that she needed to stop forgetting to clean her tools. Just as she was catching her breath, her first clint appeared. He wanted a huge and detailed sleeve on his left arm, filled with all sorts of designs and patterns. Cursing at herself, she got ready and told that man to lay down on the tatsoul. Once she began, the only thing she heard was the buzz of the machine and the man's screams. She kept telling herself that the money would be worth it but after a few breaks, she was nearing her breaking point with this guy. A tattoo that shouldn't have taken more than a few hours was going to take all day and maybe the next to simply get the outline done. Alex was currently in the lobby, chatting with Vanessa and taking something to help ease her pounding headache. |

Getting out of bed, Quinn rose to her feet and made her way to her bathroom which was close because it was attached to her room. Taking off her underwear and oversized t-shirt, she started the shower, waiting for the temperature to be warm enough before getting in. She took out her braids in the shower, attempting to do it quickly. Her eyes lowered in sadness as she stared at the braid fading away. Jayce always did her hair, and now she had to do it herself. She washed her hair and then washed her body good before getting out. She took her time since the tattoo place wasn't open for a while, and she even exfoliated. Stepping out of the shower, her goosebumps formed all over her body, she grabbed a towel quickly as she shivered. Quickly, she dried herself off before partially drying her hair. After wrapping the towel around her body to keep warm, she went back to her room to figure out what she was going to wear. She stood in her closet, rummaging through all the clothes. Since it was the middle of summer, she picked out a simple black tank top and darker wash mini shorts with black, sheer tights under them. After putting on the outfit, Quinn looked in the mirror, turning to the side to see how it looked. She hummed with satisfaction before sitting down in front of her mirror to do her hair. Her hair always took so long to do, so she avoided washing it often, dry shampoo was her best friend. About 30 minutes later, she finished both sides and when she checked her phone, she realized that the tattoo shop had been open for a bit now. Getting up excitedly, her braids expressively moving with her movements. She grabbed her Converse and quickly put them on before grabbing her keys and leaving the house. She drove to the tattoo place and parked close, getting out and walking in. Her eyes darted around the room, nervous about being in a new place around new people. She then walked up to the front desk, where 2 women were talking. "Hey, do you guys take walk-ins?" Quinn asked, hoping one of them would take her in. Her eyes fell on the taller more muscular woman, smiling softly to try and be friendly. |
