I agree with that, the school I went to wasn't that bad with cartoon art they just wanted it to have actual shading and lighting which is something I can't do it always looks wrong when I try

It definitely depends on where you go.

The schools here have a major stick up their butt about what is and isn't art. But it's like... cartoon styles are everywhere.

Logos, books, brand icons, stamps, stickers, television, toys--it is everywhere.

So it drives me nuts when art schools push this concept aside because we need more of it instead of always focusing on fancy "paintings" and portraits (which are nice, don't get me wrong but a brand isn't going to buy a portrait. It's going to buy the little cartoon instead)

that's true, I cant do realism at all

abstract art is easy if you just let it flow and clear your mind after all abstract art is not meant to look like anything other than what the beholder sees in their mind

but I agree 100% art is art , art isn't about how it looks its about how it makes people feel, its emotion not solid material

its blood, sweat and tears, its pain and joy, anger and laughter

it was hard to get the right blues

the lightest blue is supposed to glow but I'm limited on what brushed I can use cause I'm using Kleki
