Perhaps it's the idea of the injection rather than the needle that causes the phobia, that's what it was for me. Tattoos only penetrate to the dermal layer, so less scary in my opinion. Piercings only scary regarding the infection risk

I feel like Kayne and Marina will either be great friends or rub each other the wrong way because of their similarities. xD What do you think?

I think they would be good friends as well! Maybe they start out as just strangers and slowly build a friendship. Obviously they would have their arguments but I think Marina would be a good person to bring him out of his shell.
