Also, this is an idea I had, so now you get it, lmao
Enjoy my (current) main 3 with severe religious trauma :)

Song; New God by Moon Walker
(With some adjustments to the lyrics to avoid as much repeating in some spots)
Characters; Letif, Esta, and Narin. Esta's grandma, Narin's mother, Letif's parents, Felicia, and Lilith mentioned.
Context; A bit of the religious trauma from these three as well as their various levels of anger and resentment towards it all along with the desperation for something more positive to cling to.
I also think it's funny how they're all so similar in their trauma but have never interacted in our RPs (though, fun fact, Esta and Letif are from the same universe originally, as they're both in my WIP book along with Kostas, Karma, Isabella, Leroy, Maya ((kinda? a different version of her though)), Atlas, and Agnar ((Letif, Atlas, and Agnar are actually dating, as are Esta and Isa, so that's fun, lol)). Enjoy!
---
Letif, very resentful as he acknowledges the god he once believed in: "I stood at the altar and worshiped a stranger..."
Narin, angry and slightly annoyed at the fact that no one actually bothered to get him medical help with any of his problems and instead only prayed over him or told him he must be a sinner to meet this fate: "Baptized in the water and 'absolved' of my pain."
Esta, tearful and more just upset than angry over the whole thing, especially surrounding Felicia (her first girlfriend) and how bad it ended, honestly wishing her grandmother was right in saying everything was just a phase because that would be easier: "I thought you were holy, I thought you could save me!"
Letif, bitter as he looks back on everything he lost due to his family and their trust in god: "I gave you my future and you don't know my name!"
Narin, honestly fuming over his mother and her treatment of him and his sisters even after everything he did to keep his family afloat amongst his fathers sickness: "Guess this is the thanks that I get! You cast me out and you throw me away!"
Esta, hesitant but slowly starting to let go of her own hope in any god being out there: "Everything must come to an end..."
Letif, doing everything possible to seperate himself from his past, angry at everything that happened: "You've already died twice, you can still be replaced!"
Narin, angry and forcing his way through life to protect his sisters: "We need a new god!"
Esta, honestly just wanting something to hold on to: "We need a savior!"
Letif, turning to his new adopted family, especially Starlit and Kareem for support: "Maybe a new start isn't the worst idea..."
Narin, who just manages to start up the bar the day he turns 21, finally allowing himself to hope that everything will end up okay: "We need a new god, a great entertainer!"
Esta, still searching for some form of love, protection, and encouragement: "We need an angel, or something that looks like it..."
Letif, clearly upset still: "New god! Someone who can save us from the way we are! We need a new start! We'll blame all of our problems on the old one!"
Letif, very clearly still struggling with a shit-ton of self-directed internalized transphobia, bitter about it all: "Raise your boys to be sons and your girls to be daughters..."
Esta, similarly struggling with internalized homophobia, especially after Felicia: "To walk in a straight line and do as they're told..."
Narin, struggling financially but refusing to ask for help after all of the criticism from the church and his mother, angry over everything that was taught bust struggling to move past it: "Tell them they're worth only as much as they're making, that no one will love them if they don't fit the mold!"
Letif, searching for some sort of undertanding and care again as he leaves his found family temporarily: "We need a new god!"
Narin, struggling internally: "We need a savior!"
Esta, finally starting to move on as she meets Isabella and begins learning to stand up for herself: "Maybe a new start isn't the worst idea..."
